Streaming your games

Have you ever considered streaming the games that you play? With consoles, it is a little harder to stream with the full customisability that you might like, without a third party capture card, such as an Elgato. But with your PC, it's as easy as 1-2-3. With so many platforms available out there to stream on, most notably Twitch and YouTube, it has never been easier to do so. So, have you? Do you enjoy it? Is it not your cup of tea? Do you just prefer to sit in the comfort of your own company and play?

Personally, I own an Elgato HD60S, the exact same in the picture above. It's a HDMI capture card, so can basically capture any device that outputs to a HDMI. I have my own Twitch account that I'll mostly stream Yu-Gi-Oh! content on, but the temptation to stream console games is a lot of fun.​

I streamed back before Twitch was a thing. I think the big site back then was justintv? Mostly did horror games because that was the era where Amnesia was popular. Didn't really gain any traction since I was mostly just streaming for friends and other members of a site I was on and getting discovered by people was more difficult.

It's not really my cup of tea. I've become more quiet and reserved and less of a gamer over the years, so I lack personality, engagement, or skill to make myself entertaining to viewers. I've also become less able to focus so sitting down and playing one game for a long time without any Youtube or TV in the background or taking breaks to focus on something else is difficult.

If I stream again, it'll probably be game development to try to force myself to stay focused on the project.

I used to stream a bit back when Ustream a bit before i discover JustinTv, then I moved to Justintv then it got changed to Twitch. But I used to stream mostly Kingdom Hearts games on the PS2, and moved to some PS3 games with Tales of Series when I got that, I used a Dazzle capture card, now I have a Elagto (not Elagto 60), I still stream, but I dont get as much views as I used to. I do stream and have like a few of my friends come by and watch me, I streamed mostly FFXV and my journey of playing FF lately, my friend got me back into streaming. :D

Whilst I do have a capture card, the software needed to run it is not suitable for long plays. That's why I'm glad the PS4 introduced livestreaming, and then later connected it with Youtube Gaming, as I used to use Twitch but that platform annoyed the heck out of me.

I'll do a fudge ton of streaming and youtube videos in the near future with the games i usually play; League of Legends would probably take the majority of the time and resources I do for such mainly since its a game i mainly play, not to mention i wanna just show off some fun little and probably and hopefully not boosted gameplay especially in our home region, the Philippines, where based from 2016's stats, games in the Philippine servers are some of the bloodiest League games in terms of kills and deaths per minute.

Should i ever started streaming League, it will be the usual informative and educational stream of me playing some champions and helping others to improve their gameplay while I randomly spout out some topics regarding gaming, gameplay, surviving multiplayer and enjoying it.

Then, other than League, obviously I'd be fooling around in other multiplayer games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and even Doom 2016's multiplayer. Its going to be a rough ride managing a MOBA and a bunch of FPS titles as some of the content that I'd do but I definitely got the knowhow on how to produce some half-decent content.

Of course, once my new computer's 100% set up with the hardware, and the upgrades to our home's internet connections have been placed, I'll be good to go to do some partime streaming and youtubes if I can. ;)
