Stupid move in Pokemon mystery dungeon

What is the point of transform in Pokmeon mystery dungeon?
It has 1 pp and doesn't even give you the pokemon you transformed into's attacks. Infact, you don't even get to pick who you transform into, how stupid?!?!

Well, they couldn't just get rid of it, could they? Probably just didn't want to let you get too powerful in a dungeon; you could transform and end up the dungeon's stongest Pokemon, then with its good moves and PP own every other Pokemon on the floor even if you were at a low level.
