    Some forums have sticky caps where it comes FROM THIS To This. But not really anyone likes those.

    Some people do have to vent their frustration you know. And sometimes they're used in fics, to advertise something, etc. And also, people do like to emphasise stuff such as a line from a TV show (i.e. EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!).

    If someone is using caps to yell at someone else it's counted as a flame anyway.

    I know from personal experience how annoying it can be to have a zero-tolerance policy on caps. I was banned from the chat at a certain other pokemon forum that will remain nameless after ten seconds for using caps to express inflection, as any rational person would do in any chatroom. On the site it's no different; we know when to use them and how, and if someone is actually using them for a n00bish reason the mods, and pretty much anyone for that matter, have the good judgement to see it for what it is and take appropriate action.

    Don't we already have enough rules around here!? As if we need another just to keep the peace! Our already far-to-strict rules enable trolls as it is!

    look, I think with have enough rules. YOU, for one shouldn't be calling people n00bs. I'm sorry about this little upset, but I am sick and tired of seeing the word n00b used like that. But Ihonestly think we have enough rules

    That post right there is one of the best on all of PC. n00bs will always break the rules, no matter how many we have.

    I don't really see a point in having a rule about typing in all caps. I mean it doesn't happen all that much, and if you think about it, nothing really wrong with it. It's sort of like saying, don't type in small letters.

    Putting up a rule like that will be of no use, and its going to be annoying. What if someone wants to express anger, or frustration, or SOMETHING?

    ^ See? I just used caps there. >_< The caps have a meaning there. But when its pointlessly used by n00bs (which I'm guessing you're pointing this rule to), the staff can easily handle them.

    Well if your angry you can also type in Bold or in different sized letters.

    Like this.

    But typing LIKE THIS would'nt make any use.I'm just saying like not to type in all caps.It does'nt matter like if it's a little bit.Example;

    Exagerating caps:

    TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT,TEXT.

    And not too much Exgagerating:

    Text,Text,TEXT,text,text,text,text,text,text,text,text,text,text,text,text.

    Like that.

    O.o;; Its not the all caps, its just your post that looks annoying. And nobody with the right mind would really even exaggerate feelings like that.
    "I'M ANGRY! D=" is enough, isn't it? Oh well.. y'know, putting a ban on caps means putting a ban on !s or something, especially "!!!11one"-ish things.

    I can't talk back anymore.. wah.. my debating skills are rusting.. ;_;

    The keyword (or letter) here is 'I'. You may find it annoying, but that's your point of view. If it was more widespread or factual, I'd agree, but nah, there's nowhere near enough reasoning.

    *nods* Yup, that may have been it. If you find this annoying yourself, try and live with it. People won't change for you, you change for the majority.

    using all CAPS equates to the same as screaming or yelling at / towards someone.. It has it's place and uses.. however as stated by others, most mods and even members can figure out what the intended use is/was and act appropiately.

    The logic in this post is somewhat flawed. If they will break the rules, then they will regardless of how many there are. That much I agree with you on. But to make more rules because rules are broken/ignored is faulty logic. It punishes the vast majority of members who are responsible and reasonably polite whilst doing nothing to deter rulebreakers.

    Secondly, the rule itself makes little sense from a typeface standpoint. Bold text is used for emphasis of a point or idea, along with italicized text in narrative. Capital letters are used in dialogue for a sense of heightened emotion, typically anger. As this is a forum and is consequently conversations, e.g. dialogue, having people use bolded text or a larger point size is not good form. I also tend to find larger or bolded text to be more distracting than capital letters, detracting from the content of a post.

    Of cours if a message is typed in all capital or all bolded letters, it is distracting either way. However, when used judiciously, as for the most part they are, a word typed solely in caps adds emphasis and emotion to a place where it could well be needed. Punishing the majority whilst doing nothng to punish the minority makes little sense.

    Just what I've been trying to say. There's nothing TOO wrong with all caps.

    Wow, I'm using caps here just to annoy you. But then you'll say that size 1 is evil. Anyway, Steve just clarified it in a way. I'm guessing your suggestion won't be passed.

    Eh, there was something about answered threads get no closing. But I think there was also something about creator-requests. Oh well..
