Do disconnections happen often with DSL/Broadband? If it does, I may reconsider upgrading...I haven't been disconnected once with dialup...

...Well that's painful. o_O Have you checked that your router and network card are working properly?

Can't say anything about the router, since I have no idea where it is (dorm hall, yay 9_9), and my network card is fine, as far as I know.

It's just a crappy connection here that can be interrupted by things like phones with certain frequencies, which people aren't supposed to have here but still seem to have anyways.

This is why I wish there was wired internet here...but no, everything is wireless here, at least in the residence areas. Even desktop computers need to be fitted with wireless cards or whatever it is they use. O.o

I have DSL. xD;;; But the company was annoying... it took us forever to get out service's switched, and only one company had anything higher than Dial up in this area. xD

That company does sound pretty annoying..
Hmm, when I got DSL I just kept with the same company. It could be done since most of the companies in my area have internet that is higher than dial up.

But I did have a few issues setting it up though...
I couldn't get it started... you know, the DSL wasn't working. I had to call up iprimus and I got stuck talking to this Asian computer dude who could not speak a word of English... ;____;

So it was rather difficult.

It does make it easier to get around, though. o.o Don't have to worry about plugging anything in. And my computer has enough cords sticking out of it without me having to worry about yet another one. x_x

I can tell you with barely any DSL experience that, if you do happen to get a lot of disconnections, that can be fixed by getting your house rewired or changing ISPs. Same with dialup. o.o; And if it doesn't happen with dialup, chances are that it won't happen with DSL either.

I do my homework. :D
