Super Moderators taking over!

    Well,I read the FAQ,and focused my attention on this sentence:
    "Anyone with the rank of super moderator or higher has the abbility to ban a user."

    Now,an ambitious super mod might ban all admins and super moderators,could he not,and keep these forums for himself!Isnt that dangerous?!
     
    I'm pretty sure that there are blocks that prevent those with lower ranks from banning those with higher ranks. I've been a super mod myself on a VB board and that's the way it was then. so I don't think we have anything to worry about.
     
    But what about admins banning each other?An ambitous admin could ed up banning all the other admins and having pokecomunity for himself!Dont you think?
     
    I'm sure we can trust our administration. Random people who can kill the community aren't chosen as administrators, y'know. Also, I doubt the Root Admin can be banned. That's the way it is on ZetaBoards and other PHPbb3 forums.

    Admins don't need to ban each other, they can maybe just remove them from the admin group. This is why PC staff doesn't higher immature people that they believe they cannot trust with powers like that.

    And I believe people like Steve and Kwesi are protected in the config.php, which would require ftp access and only like 2 or 3 people have that.

    And those two or three peope might suddenly decide they want the pokecommunity forums for themselves!
     
    Yep, admins can remove other admins from their ranks. However, the Root Admin cannot be removed from his rank by any other admin.

    FYI, the root admin is the one who created the community.

    It seems that you're just ignoring my posts. Those two or three people are those who MADE the community. Why the hell would they want to destroy it if they've put the effort into making it themselves?
     
    Yeah.whatever,but someone could hack into the root admins account,ban all the admins,make himself admin,then delete the root admins account,go back to his normal account,and...
     
    Er... then isn't this derailing? The topic is about trusting SMods and Admins, not about a hacker coming along and hacking the forum. And as far as that's concerned, the administration can do nothing but take the security measures that they're already taking.
