    Survivors: Plot

    Welcome to the Louisia, a ferry between Johto and Sinnoh. This small ship will ferry you to Johto in a couple of weeks, depending on the weather, and we will take great care of you in the meantime. You will be provided with a small room of your own for sleep and relaxation and three meals a day. You start at Canalave City and will reach Olivine in no time. Just relax and position yourself on the deck with you pokémon and enjoy the soothing salt air, you will guaranteed get a healthy tan out of it!
    One-way or retour tickets are available at your local Pokémon Market.
    We are not responsible for any seasickness or other illnesses during the sail.

    So reads the flyer of the Louisia Ferry. You are one of the passengers trying to get to Johto. Either you are going home or going on an adventure. You might be visiting relatives or just going on a vacation. It doesn't matter what the motive for your journey is, all that matters is you'll never reach your destination.
    Halfway on your journey a heavy storm finds the tiny ship. The efforts of the crew and captain are wasted, the ship found itself in the path of a huge wave that did not feel like changing course, and the ship completely breaks down.
    Luckily for you, you survive. Most of the crew, including the captain, are missing and there is a great chance they did not make it at all. You were just lucky to find a piece of ship big enough to hold you or a water Pokémon that saved your life. Either way you wake up on a beautiful tropical beach, on the edge of it is a dark forest. Everything looks gorgeous and exotic, like a vacation. Except, little food survived, and what has washed onto the beach is no enough to supply the group of survivors for long. There is no shelter and no beds, no settlements in sight. The island seems deserted.
    But is it truly? Are there really no people hiding in the thick tropical forest? There's only one way to find out, but your first priority is to survive.
    You have your Pokémon with you, luckily they also survived the shipwreck, and so you are not alone. A lucky fire Pokémon might help you with a campfire, for the nights prove to be rather chilly even though the days can be scorching hot. A water Pokémon might supply fresh water for the sea is too salty to drink, and even though there is a stream leading into the forest, you don't quite trust the purity of its water. Perhaps a handy climber might help you reach the Coconuts that are so awfully high in that tree. Yes, you have your trusted companions with you, and there are the other survivors. Now the only thing to do is wait for a ship to come along, and survive..


    Rules

    - I am the GM, I reserve the right to edit the rules, to ask for improvements on your profile or to ask you to redo it entirely
    - The old no godmodding
    - I don't mind swearing, but don't go too far as to have a f-bomb every so many sentences okay.
    - You can have three characters as a max, but don't abuse this, I still need to see good quality posts for each of you, and I don't recommend having the full three. I, only, reserve the right to have more than one if the need arises for there might be NPC's needed to stir things up.
    - If you aren't active (Means if you don't leave a post for over a week) I will warn you, if nothing comes then I will remove you from the rp and you're character will simply disappear. The forest is big enough.
    - Romance is allowed, and slightly encouraged to a point. When you are stuck with several people only, romance is only natural to follow.
    - OOC posts to a minimum once the roleplay has started, I will make an OOC thread for this when the time comes.
    - I am part of the Grammar Nazis Group, that means I will expect proper grammar from you. Also spell-check, spell-check, spell-check, spell-check, spell-check, spell-check. Got it? It takes, what, a second? Right. Spell-check.
    I do understand there are some of you that don't have English as a first language, me being one of them, but at least try. Also, pasting it into word might help for it also registers grammar mistakes.
    - This will be a highly literate thread, three paragraphs is a minimum, which isn't a lot. If you have trouble with this, contact me and I might be able to help you with it.
    - Don't be offensive to other players, they are only human. Also, a character is not the person playing it. Remember that.
    - No, and I mean NO, Uber characters. I will not think twice to reject you if your character is a M(G)ary-Sue. No uber Pokémon, please keep to a max of one fully evolved Pokémon.

    And to end the very long list of rules, HAVE FUN! I might be coming off as a Nazi right now, that's because I am, but only when it comes to grammar, don't worry ^_^ and if you read them well, the rules aren't very stern ones, just to cover everything that makes a role-players seem less experience and, dare I say, 'professional.'

    Extra Info

    - Pokémon don't have levels in this role-play, they also don't have move sets. It has a more natural outlook on Pokémon, they learn when they mature. This also means that you don't want to have a little Pichu use Thunder unless he has matured enough to be able to use it.
    - The setting of this roleplay is a medium size Tropical Island untouched by man. That measn a lot of wild Pokémon and a lot of forest to explore. A list of Pokémon found will be included.
    - I like detail. So if you want to get in my good graces, make your profile detailed and you're posts detailed. The more the better.
    - Talking about detailed profiles, they are a must. I do not require a role-play sample, because I believe a powerful profile is enough. After all, if you can't write the profile detailed and fluent, how do I know that your posts are going to be any different? You need to be able to look through his/her eyes, to become one and then write from their point of view. And to do that, you need a thorough understanding of said character
    - Having one water Pokémon is recommended, but not a necessity. It would be easier to understand your survival, but if you desperately don't want any, then your intro post needs to explain how exactly you survived.
    - The intro post must start with you waking up and then remembering what happened.
    - Another obvious tidbit, NO major flying pokemon. A Pidgey is okay, but I don't want to complicate things with a way out now do I XD You are stuck and stuck you shall be.

    Character Profile (AKA Sign-Up Sheet)

    Name: (Pretty obvious, the name you want to give your character. First and Last name please.)
    Gender: (Male or Female, no hermaphrodites please =] )
    Age: (Keep between 15-25 please)
    Personality: (Details. You can't describe a good in-depth character in a few lines. Elaboration is your friend)
    Appearance: (Again, plenty do describe, hair, eyes, facial features, skin tone, height, built, clothing, accessories)
    Bio: (This is the only place where I am more lax in, we don't need to read their every move in their life. Cover the main events in their lives, what made their personality so, did they have a good childhood? What were they doing, going to Johto? How did they acquire their Pokémon?)
    Pokémon: (speaking about the monsters, three is max, you will be catching more Pokémon on the island. Like I said, max 1 Pokémon that had had three evolutions, but it's not recommended. It is better to start first or second stage and develop)
    Pokémon Info: (I want you to briefly describe the personality and individual traits of each Pokémon, their disposition towards their trainer and basics on how they act. Of course, include their gender and any other important information.)

    The pokemon that appear on the island are mostly logical. Most starters (with exception of Chikorita and Chimchar, who are both a bit more common) are extremely rare.

    The island is surrounded by a grand beach, except for the north side (We will be awaking on the southern side), which is pretty much a cliff of several long feet down. the cliff is there where the ground has started getting rockier. Stone and Fire Pokemon live here amongst steel Pokemon. The beach isn't inhabited by Pokemon, except for in the stream. There is a little stream flowing towards the ocean from within the forest. At the end there is a small lake in the middle of the Forest created by the many rain showers, Many more water Pokemon live here, more the smaller ones since it isn't very deep and Pokemon such as Lapras and Gyarados prefer the sea. Also, it is the drinking zone for the forest pokemon.
    Between the forest and the rocky groun there is a thin stretching plain. This is a grazing zone to herbivores such as Rapidash and Tauros. most species are found here.
    The beach flows into a thick tropical rain forest, inhabited by mainly grass Pokemon and some other types as well.
    Ghost Pokemon come out at night, even at the beach.

    Name: Maximillion Homer
    Gender: Male
    Age: 16
    Personality: Max is a very funny, different guy. He's the guy in school people see as strong, tough, and mischeveous. He loves football and is usually the quarterback. he can kick and throw the ball(or something else) very far, and is also one of the fastest in his class. He loves to pull pranks on other people, and loves to do it.

    He has barely any friends, but can make practically anybody laugh. He's very hardened and doesn't take crap or sympathy for people. He usually gets in to fights with those type of people. He is very cruel and if he finds somebody on his team that isn't doing their hardest he gets rid of them quickly.

    Max is very resourceful and acts like a wolf alot. Snarling when angry is natural, and he can also hear, smell, and see things better then normal humans. He is also faster then most humans.

    Appearance: Max is around 5 foot 4 and weighs about 115 lbs. He has crystal blue eys and brown spiky/messy hair. He has natural tan skin. He wears a white T-shirt under a long sleeved baggy tan shirt. His tan shirt has a brown collar and brown laces down the middle. He wears a brown watch and a black necklace with a wolf carved in to an amethyst.

    He wears a pair of baggy brown pants and also wears a pair of black sneakers. He has a pair of tan goggles that are usually on his head. He also wears tan fingerless gloves and a tan bag. His bag's straps have Pokeball slots on them and that's where he keeps his Pokeballs attatched to them.

    Bio: Max was born in Newbark Town, Hoenn and lived their his entire life.He was descended from an indian tribe, supposedly descended from wolves. His parents hated him and abandoned him, forcing him to live on the streets. When he was begging for food or money, many people said no and just began beating him, making him strong and tough.

    He lived with no friends and when he turned 12 he began his journey. He started with a Treeko and went on his journey. He caught a Poocheyana, and then heard about the island and descided to go to Johto. And now here he is.

    Pokémon: Male Grovyle(nicknamed Paul), and male Poocheyana(nicknamed Jake)

    Pokémon Info:
    Paul the Grovyle: Paul is a male Grovyle, and evolved from a Treeko during Max's battle against the first gym leader in Hoenn. They barely won, but still did. Paul is very quick and quiet. He doesn't usually get caught like Max, but they are very connected. Paul has red leaves on his arms and tail, rather then green. He also wears a tan bandana around the big leaf on his head, like all of Max's Pokemon.

    Jake the Poocheyana: Jake is a male Poocheyana, and was caught by Max on the first route in Hoenn. He is very caring and loves to battle for Max. He is probably the strongest fighter on Max's team so far, strength wise. He is average in speed, but sees, hears, and smells more things then anyone else on his team, just like Max. Jake wears a tan bandana on his tail, and is very attatched to Max.
     
    @Pikalover10: I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline your application. First thing is that I find that the overall writing doesn't read nicely, and it's too short for my liking. Also there are a lot of things that don't tie together. He's a funny guy and can make everyone laugh, he's strong and tough but he doesn't have any friends and is cruel? Strong, tough and funny doesn't sound like a person people would avoid, and the cruelty just doesn't tie into it.
    Also, I don't want the whole, he's better than an average human in this. Seeing/ Hearing things better and being faster is a 'better than thou' thing, and I don't like it. Plus, there are no wolves in the Pokemon world, and no Indian tribes in Hoenn either.

    Then there't the appearance, there's not much wrong with it other than it's too short, there could be way more elaboration on this. His body-type, more on the clothing, specifics in the colors.

    On the history, if you are going to have been abandoned by your parents, there has to be a reason for this. I don't know what age he was when he was put on the street, since you didn't include this *cough*, but he'd have to be 8-18 to have a chance of survival, no matter how nice the Pokemon world is. And they started beating him when he asked for food and money? Then how come he didn't starve to death? Okay maybe he picked up food from the nature, but you can't live on that alone. He'd need protein and whatnot. Also, how did he pay for the clothing he is wearing? And the clothing he wore in the past? Did he go around nude, or in his eight year old clothing, assuming his parents threw him out of the house when he was 8. How did he get into a school if he was a little streetkid? How did he get a Treecko? How did he buy the Pokeballs?

    You see where I'm getting at. I said I was more lax in the area of the Bio, that's true, but you can't leave major holes in. You need information, especially with a past like this. normally you might state some major events and say they've had a quit and normal childhood, but you can't.

    If you still want to participate in the role play, you need to create a whole new character, because this simply doesn't do.

    @ Everyone: I want this roleplay to be of ordinary people surviving a person's worst nightmare, alone on an island. I don't want 'Better-Than-thou people'. Just keep that in mind.

    Hmmm 15-25 eh? I'm thinking to participate but I'd rather have a younger character, but I can live with it. :P

    Once I finish a post for another RP (and have a late supper), I might consider posting my SU. It will definitely help with my studying woes for my exams... lol (or maybe hinder).

    EDIT: Not that I'd choose one, but I assume flying pokemon would be out of the question? This is also under the assumption that they can fly great distances back to mainlands (which probably won't be the case, and may drown in the process).

    Name: Shelby Adderson
    Gender: Female
    Age: 15

    Personality:
    Shelby is quiet around people she doesn't know. Around people she does know, however, she's often pretty energetic and talkative. When someone gets her angry, she can get really fired up and mad. That's something a lot of people probably don't like about her, but she liked how she was. A lot of people like to hang around her because normally she's a pretty cool person, but they know not to get her angry. Shelby doesn't go for the whole makeup and looks department, because she really doesn't care that much about what other people think. Sure, she likes fitting in (as a lot of people do) but it isn't going to upset her if someone doesn't like the outfit she's wearing. This is why a lot of people call her a tomboy. Sometimes it bugs her because she doesn't feel like she's as classy and as girly as she should be like some of her old friends were, but most of the time she's proud to be one.

    Sometimes people refer to her as a sarcastic person because she always seems to be making some smart remark. Normally though, she only does that if she really doesn't like the person. Although she has to admit, sometimes it doesn't take much to get on her bad side. She's also alright with comebacks. If she ever likes someone, most of the time she spends half of her time tripping and sputtering over her words. When she does this and looks back on the particular moment, she always feels like an idiot and immediately regrets even attempting to talk to the guy, no matter how nice he may be.

    She has a fairly good sibling rivalry with her brother. They get along great when they're together, but she still has a burning passion to defeat him in a big battle one day. She wants to prove to her brother that she can overcome him and be the best Pokémon trainer around, which gives her a good amount of drive to be the best she can. She's glad that she has this drive, because she knows without it she would have never been able to catch her Pokémon. She also knew that Cyndaquil probably would have never evolved if she had just stood by and hadn't gotten so involved with training it. For this part of her personality, she can basically thank her brother for it.

    Appearance:
    Shelby has blue eyes and she wears contacts because she has Astigmatism. She has glasses though, incase her contacts get fogged up or start to bug her eyes too much. Her height is about 5'6". Some people call her short, but she thinks it's perfectly average for a girl. Her skin is a very pale color, and sometimes people say that she is her part albino. She didn't think it was her fault that she didn't really like to get out and go play sports, so she really couldn't care less about that. So obviously, she wasn't very gifted in the sports department. She wasn't fat, but she wasn't super skinny either, leaving her at about an average build. She also never wore makeup because she just didn't want to take the time to put the "crap" on. Her hair is brown, but it has a bit of blonde in it because she got highlights. Her hair is always put up in a ponytail, because it's so long (about two or three inches above her butt) that she doesn't want it to get in her way.

    Normally Shelby wears a black jacket that zips up. The T-shirt under the jacket is normally red. Red is her favorite color, so that is why she wears that color a lot. She always wears blue jeans that are torn at the end because they're so long (they go a little past her shoe sometimes, depending on the particular type of jeans she's wearing that day). They vary in color though; some of them are lighter than others. Her shoes are black on the outside with red leopard design on the tongue and they say Scarecrow on the side (they say that because it's her nickname). The only real accessory she uses is a watch on her left wrist, a red and black bracelet on her right, and obviously a hair tie because she always keeps her hair in a ponytail. The very last accessory she has is a necklace that she got from her best friend. It has a bunch of different patterns in it, and the back of it is a blue color.

    She has a new backpack that she bought for her upcoming travelling that she anticipated. It holds some of her personal items such as her glasses case, her clothes, and a few special trinkets that she chose to bring with her. The backpack is a shoulder bag, just a strap that she can easily slip on and off. It is a simple black color, with a few pouches to hold extra items or whatever else she decides to put in them. On the strap there are several hooks, which is where she keeps both of her Pokémon.

    Bio:
    Shelby had a fairly decent childhood. She grew up in Johto, and now she was going back to visit her old home and see if she could catch some more Pokémon. Her mother was killed in a shipwreck before Shelby turned six, so she never really got to meet her mother. Her father was a brilliant Pokémon trainer and now he travelled the world in search of legendary Pokémon. He had decided to leave for his own quest when he knew Shelby was able to take care of herself (basically the day she got her Cyndaquil). Her older brother is on a journey of his own. He left the day he was able to get his Pokémon, which was when Shelby was eight. Her brother started off with a Totodile, and Shelby remembered when he first caught his Pidgey. She had claimed that she would pass him up one day, and that was just what she was trying to do. Sometimes she thought that's what drove her to be the best she could.

    Shelby obviously acquired her first Pokémon, Cyndaquil, through the local professor. She then got ready to set off on her journey, but before she did her father gave her a Pokémon egg. That's how she got her Larvitar. She misses her dad and brother a lot and thinks about them often. She left and then decided to return to Johto on this ship.

    She couldn't wait to see her father, because he had recently informed her that he was going to be home. He also said that he would see if he could convince her brother to come home, which was another reason that she was going back home. She couldn't wait to see them both, but there was another motive. She wanted to challenge her brother to a one on one battle with both of their starters. So she found the most recent ferry to Johto and planned on her dad picking her up with his Pidgeot and taking them back to their old house.


    Pokémon:
    Quilava
    Larvitar

    Pokémon Info:
    Quilava: Male
    Quilava is a fairly loyal Pokémon. When Shelby first got him, he was very young and wasn't very strong. They quickly grew a close bond, and began to grow stronger with every battle they had. Cyndaquil won many trainer battles with her and wild Pokémon battles, and somewhere along that road it evolved into a Quilava. Shelby was very proud of Quilava and she felt they were inseparable. She didn't know what she would do if something were to happen to him.

    Larvitar: Male
    Larvitar is a newer addition to her team. He's virtually still a baby. Shelby knew that Larvitar still looked to her to protect it and care for it, so that's exactly what she did. She wanted Larvitar to trust her, and she could sort of see that he was beginning to. He still got frightened every now and then, but he came to her and was a little bit less huddled in his shell (figuratively speaking, of course). She hoped that she could get a strong bond with him, and that they could be just as close as she and Quilava was.

    Name: Fox Voldian (Vol-Dan)

    Gender: Male

    Age: 19

    Personality: Fox is quiet guy who likes being alone to think about stuff. He also knows how to live off the land. he loves apples and somehow always has an apple. He also loves to sit in trees and think, whether it be about the weather, or if its about what he will do next. He views life like a game of chess and will think for a long time do do some things, yet charge head first for others. his fearful qoute many have learned, "Even nightmares are Afraid of something..."

    though he doesnt like people very much it is said i likes to return to Sandgem town in Shinto, and that when the children learn he is back, he will sit in front of the pokemon center and tell them storys, and his pokemon will act them out. the ones the children like the most is the Story Of Two Warriors. Where Blade and Knight play as two warriors that are trying to become stronger than the other to win the right to fight for the king, only to learn that the kings young girl, played by one of the young girls that come to listen, has been kidnapped by the ice witch, played by Freeze. so the two warriors team up to beat the ice witch and after they rescue the damsle-in-disrest, both wind up earning the right to fight in the kings name.

    Appearance: Fox is about five ten, a bit tan, and built like a guy who doesnt work out, but that is not true. Fox is very strong(he has to be able to get up trees you know) and has been known for "stoping rampaging pokemon" (many think he doesnt, and think his pokemon help him with this.). he also has a lot of scars that cross his chest, and the one that runs from just above his right eye, to about the cheak bone. his eyes are a cold ice blue, and has long, greyish colored hair. he likes to wear lose fitting jungle fagitudes (camo for non-military-brat people.) a white shirt and a black leather jacket. he also has a large amout of bandanas.

    Fox also has a bag that has pins on it, most of them seem useless but Fox keeps them as his tresure. along with this he has a folding chess board with wooden chess parts. he always has a pen or marker with him along with a 6in buck knife. he likes to right stuff down in a book that he keeps in a water proof case (in case it rains). along with these small nick-nacks he has what seams to be a packet of Tea, also in the water proof case.

    Bio: Fox grew up in Johto, this though was not a great start. he grew up an orphan who would move from townspeople to townspeople. he would show up to school just for the fun of it, but to his classmates, he was an outsider. he left the town he had grown up in at nine to wander aimlessly. this proved a better suited to him and many wondered what was he doing at such a young age. though he soon got his first pokemon, a scyther, but not like many others. Fox saw that like him this scyther was an outsider and he would spend hours a day watching the pokemon fight for food. so he callanged the scyther to a game. Who ever could full fill a set amount of wins, won. lets just say that some of those were not Fox's best choice. many resulted in some of the scars covering his body.

    a year later he was wandering through Honen he caught his ralts, Knight. and after hearing about a side evolution, ralts wanted to be the greatest fighter, even if he had to beat the hardend Blade. Knight trained long and hard to become better, and many a days he would challange Blade to a battle. soon Knight evolved, but this did not stop him, he wanted to become a Gallade. he trained even harder than before slowly geting to Shinto. There Fox was sleeping in the pokemon center in Sandgem, and Knight got out, he was training in the back when he saw Blade. Blade had a bright rock, a Dawn Stone. and he tossed it on the ground, then left. Knight went and got Fox, Who simply said "That is what you have been training for, that will let you become a Gallade." Knight went for it and evolved. He has never looked back, and he still trains so he will some day beat Blade.

    Only a few years ago, when Fox had Returned to Shinto he had caught Freeze, an Abomasnow, that had latched on to him. He had been spending time up in the snow covered wastes so that Blade and Knight could train, when the lumbering pokemon came out of the falling snow. And she was hurt, Fox quickly started to heal her injurys, and by the time he was done he set off. and Freeze wanted to repay him, so followed him untill Fox decided to just let her be part of the groop.

    He wanted to go back to Johto for unknown reasons, those that know him well think that thats just where his feet are taking him, but Fox really wants to do is visit Elm.

    Pokémon: Blade (scyther), Freeze (Abomasnow), and Knight (gallade)

    Pokémon Info: Blade is a quiet scyther and the first pokemon Fox caught. he likes to waste time by training and growing stronger, the few who have seen him train (besides Fox) know that Blade has been know to cut large stones in half, but then he must resharpen his blade like arms by cuting trees.

    Knight was a Gallade Fox has had sence he was a Ralts. Fox caught him nearly a year after he got Blade and though at first Blade didnt like him, he warmed up to knight, even giveing him the Dawn stone that let hime evolve. now in his free time he will train with Blade, Still trying to become better than him, both competeing for "Blade Master" as Fox called it.

    Freeze is the Abomasnow Fox caught while wandering in the snow covered wastes of northern Shinto. She likes to freeze stuff and touch pokemon with her icy touch, she will giggle when Blade does something funny, Fox thinks she has a crush for Blade.

    Guardian, although I won't decline the profile, it needs more work. Please read over your post, there are a lot of mistakes in the grammar, such as whether instead of weather and quite instead of quiet. Also there are a lot of typos, such as frezze instead of freeze. Also, I need more information, loads more. Look at Scarecrow's profile, that's about how I want it. Loads of detail. You need to know your character inside and out, and I need to see you are capable of recording loads of detail and knowledge over your character. You will need it, it will be expected that you can write good and detailed posts when we start.

    Also, I'm not quite happy with the strength feat. You say he is "known for stopping rampaging Pokemon". I don't believe that is very accurate. most Pokemon would be way to strong for that, think about it, if you see a huge workhorse thundering your way, you would have quite a hard time trying to calm it down. Most likely you'd be too shocked to do anything but jump out of the way.

    If you add to it considerably and edit your character just a little bit, you'd be accepted.
