This is a conflict i started wit another kid today. He claims that PS2 is teh greatest system and can't be topped, and that Nintendo is going to go out of business thatnks to them, and has all sorts of things that re bad to say about nintendo. i brought up the same topic with another friend of mine, who knew the offending party, and informed me that that kid is usually a liar and a PS2 fanboy. This is a poll I'm starting to determine whether or not more people indeed prefer PS2 to Gamecube, or even Xbox. So please vote for your favorite system and be honest.

Gamecube. truly, the only reason I still own my PS2 is to play Kingdom hearts, or jurassic park. I had an X-box at one point, but I gave it to my cousins. all I had on it is Halo. I didn't approve of it much. and, the PS2 and X-box have a lack of 2 player games, while I can look at my Gamecube games, and instantly find one that both me and my friend can play. not only that, I have found the Gamecube can take a lot more punishment then a PS2. imagine a house with 3 cats and a large dog. my PS2 is malfunctioning, but my Gamecube has gotten slammed a lot, but still works like i just recieved it. also, the gamecube is eaiser to carry, in the event that your friend doesn't have his or lent it to a friend.

OK, here's why I like the Gamecube better.

Sony, the creators of the PS2, annihilated the competition between the long rivaling companies Nintendo and Sega. Because of Sony, Sega was forced to drop out of the gaming system industry. I ABSOLUTELY HATE SONY BECAUSE OF THIS!!!

The XBOX was a very good system. Decent selection of games, strongest of the current gaming systems. I was planning to get it, until I found myself in the Pok?mon world again. Also, I respect Microsoft, but I HATE BILL GATES!!!

The Gamecube was the only choice there is that's valid for my purposes. It still is the cheapest system on the market and has a massive gaming collection I like. I've trusted Nintendo ever since the Nintendo came out! And they've never failed to satisfy my gaming needs!

Let's put this in any multiplayer game terms:

GC: A veteran of the game, and very, very good at it.

PS2: A player with average skills, but a handicap. (i.e. 1 coin in a race to get 5.)

Xbox: An amateur who SO does not belong here.

I bought GC 'cause Mom is really strict about ratings....Xbox is beautiful, but I can count the number of games worth buying on one finger (Halo). There are some awesome games on the PS2, but it falls behind in everything else. I want Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and 3 on GAMECUBE!!

PS2 and Xbox both have their share of good games, but I'm a sucker for classics like Mario and Zelda. The old nintendo franchises always bring quality, and that's why I feel safer with gamecube than any other system.

I know what it feels like to get picked on by PS2 fanboys...I just don't see how anyone could be so zealous about a certain system that they'd persecute other people for having a different one...people like that are losers, no other word for them.

PS2 has the best hardware, Gamecube has the best software, and Xbox isn't good, because:
    1. It has a poor selection of games
    2. Microsoft's strength is definetly NOT games
I own a PS2 and GC, I also have a GBA. I like sony's hardware (controllers, memory cards, etc) but I hate the new spyro game. I loved the first three spyro's, it was easy to control and quick loading, even though the graphics weren't 100%. The new spyro, totally sucks. It is very hard to control, and you HAVE to use the stick for full movement (I like to use the pad). The graphics are good, but it takes at least 5 full minutes to go in and out of levels. I just hate it, and then there's the $50 I spent on it. I liked the other ones, they were only $40 (still expensive) but a much better deal. Game Cube is expensive though, $50 a game (a GOOD game). Pokemon Colloseum was $50, and my only other game, SSBM, was $30. Game Cube also copied the idea of memory cards from sony so it proves the better hardware part. In a Game Cube, you can't remove the controllers while its on and sometimes if the stick is not straight when you start it up, it goes in reverse. I like Game Cube a little better, but I would vote PS2 if it weren't for the games.

Well i'll tell you now what tops all systems! The computer it has the best games, upgrades, online play, chats, imformation, cheays, and more nothing is better than the computer.*smirks*

What do you mena "copied the memory card idea"? N64 had memory cards before ps even existed, even though they weren't really necessary back then for the most part.

Most games had the save file right on the catridge, so if you had a little sister -_- none of your files could get over written. Think about Pokemon Stadium, and SSB, those are just 2 examples. Sony used it in all games, which was way smarter.

    Very true.

The thing I hate about systems that rely on memory cards, though are that the game disks will fail much faster than cartridges will. Game disks get damaged so much easier than cartridges ever will, and so will the lens that reads the disks. Oh well. Nintendo did it, so I'll support them. (If only the Gamecube could read CDs or DVDs...)

Oh, and memory cards are more likely to lose save data than cartridges. They're not built as rugged as a N64 pak.

More or less I think the the Game cube isn't a very good console. The disc can't be duplicated wheras the PS2 disc and X-box disc can be duplicated. That is if you have the mod chip installed. But the game cube is cheap but the games are expensive and not popular at my place. I can't even find popular games on the shelves of a game store. All the stores all sell PS2 and X-box disc and even some sell pirated coppies. This is very popular in my country. But more or less i think that the Gamecube is not a bad console since its good in a sense.

Disk duplication is not a good thing, it's against copyright laws. And the popularity of a system does not determine if it's better.

gc and xbox dont have enough good games yet. playstation has more good games, and final fantasy. but nintendo has zelda and pokemon and metroid. but all the other games that arent big franchises, playstation has more better ones. but i think in the future nintendo will find a way to blow us away with better rpgs

gamecube actually has a great many good games out. From personal experience, I know that SSBM, Mario Kart Double Dash, Zelda Windwaker, Metroid Prime, POkemon Colloseum, Beyblade utlimate tournament battle, mario sunshine, luigi's mansion, Megaman Network Transmission, Sonic Heroes and Animal Crossing are all very good games. And those are just what I can rememebr from off the top of my head. PLus E3 says they have plans for a "mature" zelda, Digimon Rumble Arena 2, Fire emblem for GCN, Star Fox Adventures 2, and other good games being made. I'm not denying that PS2 probably has more descent games than GCN, as it's been in the market a lot longer. I'm just saying that GCn has a lot more good games than you give it credit for. I can't argue for xbox, since I don't own one.

ps: I'm sure by now you know which one I voted for.

oh yes, i know it has many good games. but i dont think the ps2 and gamecube franchises will ever die, and well within the next year we will have many more reasons to have a gamecube, and then my bro can stop telling me i wasted my money. lol

i gotta fix some things up here i gotta
ok first of all gc can play cds and dvds you just gotta get a thing that sits under your gc like the gba thing
and nintendo did have memor cards first and memory cards get over wrighted all the time pull it out at the wrong time deleted too much dust in it deleted....
who said you cant copy gc games huh huh who -_- open your eyes 0_0
ok GAMECUBE 0wnz all consoles gba well 0wnz too but its not really a console :P ps2 is fairly good because of its games like kingdom hearts and final fantasy but gc as ff too XBOX!!!!!! hpmh what the heck is that doing in here someone has gotta dump that console

I like PS2 more than GC and X-box, but only because of the games. I also don't really like the controls for Gamecube. I'd rather get arthritis or something. Personally, i think they should have kept the N64 controller or at least something closer to that. But yea. Gamecube has its share of good games, but can't compare to PS2's selection. Plus, PS2 get's most of the top-sellers like GTA and FF series, as well as it get's most first, then they're remade for GC. MEH, in conclusion.

edit: Plus i hate nintendo for losing Rare to x-box. Perfect Dark ownd me.

I've never seen the add-on for GC DVDs.... there was a DVD playing GC released in Japan, but it never came to the US...
