Suggestion: Table BBCode

Are there really no functioning BBCode for creating a table on this site?

I've looked at this list of BBCode available for the forums, and I see no associated tags for a plain table.

So I decided to just write out table tags as if they were BBCode, because it's rare of me to come across a forum that has as many tags to customize posts as this site does, and yet not have one for tables, table headers, table rows, and table data.

Doing so and previewing, I do get a table with preset attributes: padding of 6px, centered alignment, no border. Yet, for whatever reason, the table removes itself several spaces below whatever content may be above it in the preview, despite the number of line breaks in the actual post field (the box we type in to post). In the post field, it actually changes from BBCode to raw HTML, showing that tags TABLE, TH, TR, and TD are in fact currently not allowed BBCode markup on this site.

No matter if I do or do not change any value, if I were to preview that again--meaning if I previewed my post with the HTML still there--the whole thing is ruined, and the HTML shows up in the preview, not formatted.

I personally don't want any convoluted way of going about making a table when table tags are so easily available and supported. We have superfluous tags to produce a colored bordered div and bold preset text just for beautifying content warnings and mentioning age restriction, but nothing to quickly contain information in an evenly-spaced manner.

Please tell me if I am missing something, because for whatever reason, I'm not finding any useful information about these tags and their use on this site in specific.

    Thank you.
