Tales of Oceana Town

"Let me give you a lesson, Mari. In this case the windows and doors must all be sealed. You can't get out, can you?" I said, walking to a window to find it glued stuck. "So either there is a special remote to open it, or there is a password you have to enter..over there." I said, pointing to a number pad glued on the wall. "It's your parents' ways of making sure you can't go anywhere, but here."

Stunned, Marilynne questioned me. "How did you know that? How did you escape?"

"Shut up, look around you before speaking. They might have got camera and such installed to spy on you. You don't seem like an ordinary family. Look at the house! It's enormous! Bigger than most houses in this town. Look at your room, especially your parents' room. This house is no more than a mansion, this family is no more than rich. You guys can afford all kinds of technology. There's only one place that's safe...." I said, signalling Marilynne over to another door.

"...and it's locked."

"My parents are due back any moment. Is there anything I should beware of?"

"Well, here's my plan." I began in a small whisper. "In order to gain their trust, you saw what I did a while ago, didn't you? If they ask about me, just say I was either okay or mean, or something in a bad way. In front of them, I mostly will act like you are not there. If they asks what we did, just say you helped me into my new clothes and room, which is, not yet done. Act like you always would, like nothing good ever happened. Get ready, and clean the house spotless like you always would. Good luck."

After that, I quickly ran to my room and put on any piece of clothing I could find, and walked out of the door as Marilynne's parents emerged from the front door..

"Kris, I'm home!" a voice called after I heard the door open, then close. It was the voice of a middle aged man, and my assumptions were confirmed as the girl ran to the hall calling "Daddy!" after telling me to hide outside for the time being.

I did as I was told, and ran out the back door, before tripping over a tree root, and falling flat on my face. I quickly got back up onto my feet, and during that time, got a glance of where her backyard went. She must live on the edge of town, considering the large path that flew into a forested area behind it, what looked like the roof of another building beyond it.

After that, I ran behind a tree, peering over the side at the house, where I could see the form of a man in the window, the girl talking. After about 20 minutes, all the man disappeared into a room, the lights in that room going out. I was then summoned back in by the girl.

"You'll have to sleep in at the old shrine in the back of the woods for now." She told me as she pointed up the path. I noded, then noticed a huge bruise across her face that wasn't there before.

"Are... are you okay? What happened?" I asked her, realizing she had been crying by the trail of tears coming from her eyes.

"It's nothing, roof." She said, I noticed she made an animal noise again, but now wasn't the time to ask. "Just follow that trail."

I did as instructed, and followed the trail in the pitch black of the night to the shrine she had mentioned. It was considerably large, and in the northeastern corner of it, there was a pedastal with a box a top of it, light radiating from within. It was the only light I had to go off of. I just layed down on the hard, cold, moss covered bricks, closed my eyes, and went to sleep. My first night there, the first night of summer, marked the start of a whole new adventure for me.

OOC: Super sorry! I haven't been on in awhile...and it's just going to get worse as the week goes on, I'll try to post when I can.

IC: "What?" Jake stuttered as he opened his eyes and looked around. It looked as though he was laying on the side of some sort of of road, his mind was cloudy so whatever happened was unclear, all he knew was that he was hungry.

"Hello!" came a voice from above the boy. Jake looked up to see a girl, seemingly entering her teen years. "I'm glad you're awake!" she said with a wide grin.

"Where am I?" Jake said as he rubbed his head, and sat up, leaning on one hand.

"Huh? You don't know where you are?" the girl replied curiously as she bent down to further examine him.

"All I remember is waking up on the side of this dirt road..." Jake muttered more to himself than to the girl who was interogating him.

"Oh..." the girl said in reply. "Well my name's Elizabeth. Elizabeth Somilia, to be exact."

Jake looked at her suspiciously, she had spun his question, and Jake didn't like when people began to spin conversations. It made him think of the other as a rogue wanting to get information. "Where am I?" Jake repeated bluntly as he tried to get to his feet, but soon found his legs giving out and crashing hard to the ground.

"Well...what is your name?" she tried again, she appeared to hesitate, but stood firm in her decision to get his name out.

"Tell me where I am, and I will tell you my name," Jake said, his eyes narrowing, he had played this role before, and wasn't going to give into the little girls demands.

"You're in a town. Now tell me who you are," she said with a sly grin.

Jake, whose diplomacy was running thin, finally was able to stand on his own two feet. "Nevermind. I'll find out where I am with or without your help," Jake snapped as he began to walk away.

A loud rumbling sound came from his stomach and Jake realized that he hadn't ate for some time. He collapsed back onto the ground holding his stomach as if he had a stomachache.

"What's wrong?" the girl asked as she jogged over to see what was wrong with the boy.

"I'm hungry that's all," Jake said looking defiantly away from her.

"Seems like you haven't ate for sometime!" Elizabeth realized as she recognized the posture of the young man. "Tell me your name and I'll get you something to eat."

Jake opened his mouth to protest, but another loud rumble came, and he quickly rethought. "My name is Jacob Denim. You can call me Jake."

Jake recoiled as Elizabeth held a plump plum near his face. "You can call me Izzy. This should hold you over until I get you home."

Jake let a chuckle escape his lips as his hungry teeth bit into the nice round plum.

The parents came in, and gave me a big hug. "Hey, Jenna! Haven't seen you in a long time! Besides, you look awfully like that runaway we've had posters of.." The man's voice trailed off, and I shivered. "Listen, you make yourself comfortable and Marilynne will take care of business. We are leaving for the whole week, and you will have to do our work, what we usually do with Marilynne, got that?"

"Yes sir, I got that."

"Okay, I'll see you next week."

After they walked out the door, away from the streeet, and far away from our sights, Marilynne and I came back to our normal positions, and started our planning. "Now you've already told me a while ago, that they've never been away this long before. First of all, we're lucky. this window, is opened." I gave it's handbars a little push and grinned. "A runaway wants to be as far away from their home as possible, so they can be safe. Here, I've got some clothes that I've brought from home. You take these and I'll take what you're wearing right now. We leave in three hours, now's the time to get ready. Take everything you feel you will need. Go."

After just 20 minutes, Marilynne, exhausted, came tapping on my shoulder. "We leave, now! My parents said they might come back during the night, and it'd take forever to unpack. If they found out I was trying to run away they'd beat us both to death!"

"Ok, leave. Right now." I said, grabbing my stuff. I hear there's a forested area with a small hidden shrine. Let's go there."

We were both dressed as some kind of punk girl who looked like part of a violent gang, Marilynne's idea. Nobody dared to stay near us, and as we entered the forest, both let out a relieved sigh.

"Wait a minute, someone already took this hiding place!" Marilynne suddenly whispered, pointing to David...

There were others there, yet I did not wake up. I was way too exhausted from all of the travelling I had been doing. All I needed was sleep, lots of sleep. If you were watching me, you would first notice me beginning to stir, crying things like "Ouch!" and "Get away from me!" in my sleep.

It was a nightmare, a nightmare I had never experienced before. I was being chased by a man with a katana until he chased me into a trap, which was a net coated in leaves. I would've noticed it if it wasn't so dark out. From that point on, I was hung from a tree branch, and being beaten down by villagers of some sort. This dream was a new one, but it felt familiar for some reason. Little did I know it would play a huge role in the events to come.

"This isn't good, I tell ya, we've just got to get out of here. This man seems dangerous, but not armed." Marilynne joked, in a serious way.

"Nonsense, I've seen lots of people like that on my walk. Ya see, I walked here, and now I'm walking with a friend!" I said, raising one eyebrow. "You know waht I mean, right? The thing is, we've got to see what's really up with him, perhaps he can help."

"You go ahead, I'm too scared.."

"Is that what comes out of you from your parents' intensive overprotection? A chicken? Man, if you didn't run away now you won't be able to even appear at interviews for jobs, dang it. Now go! Talk to him!" I urged her on, and gave her a push on the back.

Marilynne looked back at me. "Go on." I replied with a nod, and watched her move closer to David. "Excuse me, who are you...?

I heard a voice from beyond my dream, snapping me back to reality. My eyes opened about halfway, and I found myself glancing up at a little girl, my body sweating like mad.

"Who am I?" I confirmed as I glanced over a bit, still lying on the ground, and saw another girl, a few years older then the first. "A better question would be 'Who are YOU'" I replied, emphasizing the 'you.' Geez, this town was just full of girls, wasn't it?

"Who is this Elizabeth?" her father's voice inquired. Jake looked up to see a tall bearly man, whose long black beard and sharp dark brown eyes would intimidate anyone he came across.

"This is Jacob Denim," Elizabeth answered in her usual happy-go-lucky voice, with her characteristic grin.

"Why did you bring him here?" he asked as he stepped out of the front doorway to show off his huge muscles and to hopefully intimidate Jake.

Jake, who felt his pride being injured by this huge man, took a step forward and stuck out his chest, and narrowed his eyes, in hopes of intimidating Izzy's father. At last Jake knew that nothing could probably scare off this man, but he figured it was worth a try.

For, what seemed like, an hour the two spent staring each other down, trying the best they can to intimidate each other. The only thing that kept up Jake's nerve was his pride, other than that he felt as though he'd fall on his back and cower.

Then a grin flashed across the man's face, and he let out a hearty chuckle from the deepest pit of his stomach. "You look hungry indeed. For you keep looking at me like you were going to toast me on an open fire!" he hooted as he slapped Jake on the back, harder than the bearly man anticipated, for Jake collapsed face first on the floor.

"I am indeed, sir..." Jake responded as he got to his feet, confused by the man's outburst. He looked at Elizabeth for some answers, but she just grinned back at him.

"Come in, me boy. Let's get some food for that gigantic stomach of yours!" he said as he led Izzy and Jake into the well crafted stronghold, that he called home.

At the table, Jake looked around, the house was well decorated, a sign of wealth. Yet the home had a cozy and comforting aurora about it. "So how did you come across my little Izzy?" he asked, by now Jake knew that the man's gruff and rugged voice wasn't just for intimidation, it was his actual tone.

"Well..." Jake began to say, but Elizabeth quickly interupted.

"I found him laying unconscience on the side of the road! He awoke as soon as I turned to get some help. He was a stubborn one. I introduced myself, but no matter how hard I tried, he wouldn't tell me his name! Then he got really hungry, and I happened to have a plum. So I traded it for his name," she blurted out all at once.

"I thank you for your hospitality, but I really must get back on the road," Jake cut in before her father could say anymore.

Jake got up to leave, and felt the man's giant hand grab him by the wrist and forced him back down to his seat. "I'll hear none of this leavin', ya hear? You're a guest of the Somilia household, and you're welcome to stay here for as long as you like. A friend of Izzy is a friend of mine.Izzy has school in the morning and would gladly show you around, right darling?" he said in a carefree type of voice.

"Yes, daddy," she said shaking her head in agreement, eager to show him around. "How old are you, Jake?"

"Yes tell us how old ye are," came a gentle voice. Jake whiped around to see a very eligant and beautiful woman leaning against the open doorway to the kitchen, wiping her hands with a small towel.

"Ah, I see ye met me wife!" he chuckled. "She be named Katherine, and meself being Paul."

"How do you do?" she said with a graceful curtsy.

"I be doing fine, ma'am," Jake nodded. As they ate, Jake noticed all the different personalities floating around the room. Paul was as hearty of a man as Jake ever laid eyes on, Elizabeth's mother seemed very proper and gentle, while Elizabeth's free-willed and happy-go-lucky personality surprised Jake.

"What do you do for a living?" Jake asked suddenly. Maybe, Jake thought, just maybe, there was a reason that he came to this town. He might have a use and able to make a living here.

"I raise horses. The finest breeder known around these parts," Paul said with another wide grin.

"I see..." Jake muttered to himself thoughtfully.

"And what about yeself? You never did tell us how old ye were!" Paul said, interupting Jake's thoughts.

"Oh...I'm 16. And I'm not much good for anything but riding..." Jake shrugged, and then jumped almost the whole way off his chair, as Paul gave a loud earth-shattering hoot.

From where I saw it, Marilynne was shaking slightly, from the way David said 'you'. I decided to step in, and emerged from the side, pushing Marilynne off to the left. "Hey, we're in need of shelter, you see we're-"

"No, don't say it!" Marilynne warned.

"It's okay." I secured her, then turned back to David. "We're runaways. We need a place to stay for the night, since it is way darker than we had expected, we can't continue going anywhere. Please, can we share this space with you?" I asked politely.

OOC: The legend is back in action! It was only a matter of time. It's time for some good ol' fashion rpin' now!

(If you're wondering I'm talking about me and my last two post. XD)

Just one more thing I need to ask you david...I mean before I continue. Are we all in the same town? Or when do we all meet up if we're in different towns? Or do we even meet up at all?

OOC: Okay, I think now is a good time to explain more about the way I have things planned. We're all in the same town, and will come into contact with each other various times throughout the RP. Different characters may come to be friends, rivals, ect, like relationships in real life basically. Now, a bit later, I will be including a small paranormal element revolving around the shrine and my characters dreams, but I'll give you guys more details on it later. Sound cool?

IC: "Yeah, whatever." I replied as I rolled onto my side to face the pedastal, and watched as the light radiating from the box died. I thought nothing of it really, since I was still too tired. "It isn't really mine, I'm just staying here for the night anyways. Just make sure you're gone by dawn."

Mary and I got inside the big house, and she went running to the kitchen to make some food for dinner. I saw her making all kind of stuff a reall good chef would do. And like that, the dinner was ready in... "15 minutes! what are you? a robot or something?!" I joked with her, and she just smiled. We sat on some chairs besides a table, and we bagen to eat the dinner she made.

Later, we finished the dinner, and it was already late. "why did you make so much food?" I asked her, looking at some food that was on the table in a gigantic bowl. "oh! that is for my parents!" she answered. I just raised an eyebrow, and stood up. "c'mon Mary, I think it's bed time for you" I told her as I began to walk upstairs, and she followed me. She got in her room, and closed the door infront of me and locked it. "you won't see me changing my clothes!" she yelled from inside, but in the nicest way that it could exist.

I waited just besides her door, resting my body on the wall. She then unlocked and opened the door, and she was wearing some blue pajamas. She quickly jumped on bed and covered herslef with the bedspread. "good n..." I tried to tell her, but she interrupted me. "will you read me a story?" she asked. I just froze, and came back in seconds, I have never told a story to some little girl!. I sat down on a chair next to her bed, and told her a story... well my story to be exact, but without names. Something like, a boy ran away from his house, and went unconcious in a road, and he discovered that he was in who-knows-what-town, and he met new people and bla bla bla.

Just before I finished the 'story', I noticed she was already asleep. I smiled, realizing how a wonderful life a child can have... except me. I walked out from her bedroom, but she woke up and told me not to turn the lights out, and just before a second could pass, she was already asleep again. I froze, remembering that I liked to sleep with lights on when I was like in that age. With a smile, I closed her bedroom door, and went to the living room.

Then, I noticed her parents in the living room too. "may I know who are you?" the dad asked me, I was in shock, and I froze... yea again. "are you Mary's new friend?" the mom asked me. "y...ye...yea" I told them as I was still in shock. They both smiled and asked me to do something, take care of their daughter. "so, do you accept? you will have shelter, and food, but only if you take really good care of her, ok?" the dad told me. I just nodded still in shock.

"great! finally she has a friend! aww. Well, Max?" the mom said, "yea?" I replied, now recovered from the big shock I had. "you better get some sleep" she finished her sentence. "um... can I... wander around the town? to... think in some personal stuff?" I asked them, I really wanted to think how my life would be from that moment, and how would be my parents right now. They both nodded with smiles on their faces, "ok, but don't come too late. Remember you have to take Mary to school tomorrow" they answered me. I smiled and said thank you. I opened the front door, and before putting a foot outside the house, I returned inside, and closed the door, turning aorund too look at the parents. "to do what to where?" I asked.

OOC: Yes, and there better be a sequel being planned after this rp is through...it's a shame to have something this excellent only be a one time thing! ;)

IC: "We'll have to get you cleaned up, won't we!?" Katherine asked as she saw that he didn't have any shirt on, and his pants didn't look like pants anymore.

"Huh?" Jake started at first but then looked down at himself. He chuckled lightly and said, "Yeah...I guess so huh?"

"Yes we will!" Paul said clapping his hands together happily.

"Can I? Can I?" Elizabeth pleaded eagerly.

"Sure sure...show him the wash house and the wardrobe," Paul said in a defeated tone, he was looking forward to getting to know the young man a bit better.

"Come on! Let's go!" Elizabeth hurried as she rushed out of the room.

"I'm comin!" Jake called after her, he could feel himself fitting right at home here, and would gladly stay forever.

"This is the wash house. The towels are in the closet beside the tube. The number one rule is no peeking!" she said shaking her finger at Jake.

Jake laughed, and then said alittle more seriously, "I wouldn't do it, even if you aloud peeking."

"Good!" she said sternly and then left him to his bath.

* * *

"Ok, this is the wardrobe. Feel free to pick whatever you want from it!" she smiled and let the half naked Jake alone in the huge room to pick his nightclothing.

Soon the towel wrapped around his waist was replaced with loose cowhind pants. After exiting the room he found himself confronted with the hyper Elizabeth again.

"You'll be sleeping with me tonight! Come on! It's almost bedtime!" Elizabeth said jogging down a short corridor and then turning a sharp left into a large room.

"I'm not that..." he began to say but a yawn cut him off and a deep heaviness settled on his shoulders. "Maybe I am tired..." He said lazily and then entered the room, and fell fast asleep on the top bunk of the bunkbed, whiile Elizabeth took the bottom.

//ooc: Late~ishness! Gomen~! > <

//~ic: The sun was setting and the wind was blowing harsher and harsher every passing second. Still, she strained to continue on. Her stomach was grumbling endlessly, her throat was as dry as could be, and her legs were so sore. She was lucky it wasn't as worse as thought. Sure, she was dull enough to forget to bring even a fourth of her saved money, and not to pack food for her seemingly never-ending trip, but it could be worse. Like forgetting to pack clothes to wear?oh wait, she did forget to do that.

Still. She persisted on the belief that there were more things worse than what was happening to her as of now. Besides, every incident that occurred was a challenge.

Cathe, straining to reach the only place she could rest onto, pushed her sore knees forward. She couldn't possibly lose to a challenge she set on herself?she should and will emerge triumphant.

A grin immediately formed upon her face as her knees bent down to the wooden bench in front of her. Her legs felt so comforted to have finally rested. After one and a half week of everlasting walking, she had a chance to finally rest.

Her eyes immediately shut at the tranquility. Now, if she had a nice rest she would be able to search for food as soon daybreak comes. She smiled at the thought and abruptly fell into a deep slumber.

Unfortunately, her sleep was instantaneously disrupted. She rubbed her eyes with her hands and blinked a couple of times; quietly wishing that she could return to her sleep. When she was fully awake, she found herself staring perplexedly at the rather adorable-looking boy staring right back at her with ennui filled eyes.

"So you're finally awake." The boy stated, crossing his arms. His voice was filled with irate but with the tiniest bit of worry in them. "Took you long enough."

Cathe, oblivious of what to do at the occurrence, merely apologized to the boy, grinning ever so blissfully. "I'm really sorry to make you wait." She started, grin still in place. "But did you want something from me?"

"I' am supposed to work on a seven page essay about a friend. All my other friends are too boring so I couldn't possibly write about them. You, on the other hand, Xaphanel, are the opposite of my friends. A dramatic incident had just occurred, judging from your appearance and it seems that it hasn't ended yet. That will be a great for my essay. So, you'll be my friend now."

Cathe blinked in confusion. How did this boy instantly gathered information about by simply staring at her? And they're friends already? She scratched her head and silently cleared her mind. It was going to explode any second now.

"You're a slow one. Not like the rest of the well-known Xaphanel." He added briskly, smirking at her.

She was still flabbergasted. Her head was aching from everything the boy stated and she had not an idea of what to do. Not like she ever does, though. "Erm?Do I know you?" Finally, she spoke.

"Your surname is engraved on that silver armband you're wearing, idiot." The boy sighed. She was really hopeless.

"I keep forgetting that." Cathe giggled, grinning apologetically at him. She then stretched her arms and offering him a handshake. "By the way, my name is?"

"Cathe," He stated in a know-it-all tone. "The only child of Anne and Liam Xaphanel." He was staring at her outstretched hand and pondered about it. He did say that she going to be her friend. "The name's Eric. Kakeru, Eric."

He briefly shook her hand and glanced at the mystified look in her face. He chuckled slightly, very uncharacteristic of him. "Your father and mine had worked together once, a few years ago. He kept mentioning your name."

"Okay then~!" Cathe exclaimed happily, practically jumping with joy. "We're friends now!"

Eric merely watched, eyebrows raised. "And I thought you'd be dying by now."

((Yeah sure, is something like that going to happen to the rest of us too?))

"Okay, come over here." I nodded to David and got Marilynne to another corner. There wasen't a box or anything, but it was better than nothing. "I'd best stay on the other corner, and you can sleep over there, but we'd better be alarm of the slightest sound." I whispered, trying not to disturb David's sleep.

"Let's hope this night give us mercy." I hear Marilynne say to me.

"You can sleep now, I'll stay awake for a while and halfway I'll wake you, sounds fair?"

"Yeah, good night, don't let the house bugs bite!"

We both burst into slient laughter, but were very sure that it wouldn't be long before it dies out completely, and soon we'd have another failed attempt and more beatings to attend. This was a foul movement for sure, but somehow if we didn't give up, there might be a chance...

Lights shined from the huge house before her and she heard Dogs bark from behind the fence as they scraped the wall and lifted themselves onto hind legs to see who the arrivals were. Noticing that it was their owner and a stranger whom they did not know, they began to growl and try to heave themselves over the fence. Obviously, these dogs were very protective over their owners and it would take a lot of work to gain both Dogs? trust.

Rachel recoiled from the two barking dogs, and moved closer to Kioni, thinking that the protection the owner would be of some sort of comfort, but Kioni made no attempt to calm the dogs or even scold them into backing off from the new guest. This boy seemed to quiet and kept to himself than Rachel would have liked.

The small boy walked to the front door of the large, white wooden house and rapped on the door loudly. Rachel came up behind him and stuffed her hands into her pockets, immediately thinking that that was the wrong impression and letting them fall limply to her side. She straightened up just in time to see a young woman, no more than 30 appear in the light of the door way.

Her gaze was directed at Rachel, and the teenager, could think of exactly what was passing through the mothers thoughts. Rachek could only gulp and lower her head from the gaze, she was never good at meeting new people. Especially if said person was an adult and further more, a mother of a young, rich boy.

?Kioni, who is this?? The mother asked, not moving the door way to let the pair in. Apparently she was very protective over her son, as the Sapphire eyes did not leave Rachel, not even when the small boy answered timidly.

?She?s my friend, Mother. I found her, half dead by the side of the road. She has not eaten in days by the looks of her and I could not leave her there Mother. Please do not get angry at me, I was only trying to help? Kioni had taken the same position as Rachel; head bent low to look at his feet and hand hung limply to his side. Could it be that his parents had poorly controlled tempers?

?I should have never have left home? Rachel cursed herself mentally ?I should have stayed at home and never have left. How could have I been so stupid! If there was a class for common sense, I would defiantly be failing it? she tried her chances and took a quick peek at the mothers face.

It was still as emotionless as ever and her brow was creased to show great thought, apparently, Rachel looked more untrustworthy than she previously thought. ?Ma?am, all you?re son has said is true. I have not eaten in days and I have run out of money. I do not feel so good either, but fret not, it a?int nought bad, just a simple stomach ach?

?You had better come in; I will get you some food and some water. Then we will tend to those wounds you have? The mother moved from the door way and aloud the two to enter the warm and luxurious house.

Finally, morning came, and I woke up to the sound of that girl calling me from her house. I hefted my bag onto my back, and ran down to the path, almost landing flat on my face after tripping on a rock.

"Walk me to school!" she exclaimed as she grabbed my hand began pulling me towards the street. She was now in a school uniform, the bruise on her face still showing.

"Okay, okay! But we don't even know each others names yet, and I thought it was summer!" I cried as I began walking with her.

"I'm Kristen, but you can call me Kris!" she cried as she released my hand. "So, what's your name?"

"David, Miyamoto David." I stated, placing my last name in front of the first the second time. "I'm a traveller basically."

"Traveller? What are you travelling for?" She asked inquisitivly as she ran ahead, her arms extended out to her sides. "Are you looking for something?"

"You could say that. I'm searching for my mom." I explained. Yes, I had runaway from home, but I had found out only a week before I left that who I thought were my mom and dad were really my aunt and uncle. Apparently, my dad passed away just after I had been born, and my mom supposedly died too, though something in the bottom of my heart tells me she is at least alive somewhere. I explained this to Kris before arriving in front of the school.

"This is my sumerschool, I'd better go." she said as she turned to walk through the gates, and paused when she was right under them. "Maybe you should look to the sky for your answers." After saying that, she entered the gates, leaving me to ponder what she had just said.

I then walked into town, looking for work, or at least something to do.

"to take Mary to school tomorrow morning" they repeated. I just went upstairs and said good night to the parents. I entered which I thought, and fortunately was my room in that house. Yea, I planned to go around the town, but I had the bad habit of waking up really late, so I needed to sleep early. I just got on bed, and I fell asleep.

I slowly woke up because of sunlight on my face. I groaned, and noticed that Mary was asleep by my side. "what the...!?" I needed to learn too that I couldn't say bad words infront of that girl. "Mary... Mary! isn't it time for school now?" I asked her as I got off from bed. "Mary!" I told her once again, and she uncovered herself from the bedspread. She was already in the school's uniform! "ok... let's go" she told me slowly, she was half-awake.

Her parents weren't home, so she guided me through the town to he school. Before reaching the school I asked her "why did you sleep with me last night? I thought you were asleep in your own room". "but... I felt alone, and I had you, so I went to your room, and I slept there" she answered me. I couldn't say anything else, maybe she really felt alone without her parents around. And then, we finally reached her school, "ok Max, here it is. See ya later!" she told me with that big smile of her. I smiled and waved my hand.

Ailya woke up, not in her usual place, but in a jail cell. She got up, blinked her eyes a few time and freaked out. "Oh my goodness. Marilynne, are you there?"

"No, I'm sorry. Come with me please, Mistress..Aliya. I didn't have no idea why you'd show up here. You should know, your father is a very good friend of the police chief in this town. It's just pure coincidential why you walked into a trap on your own.Not with someone as smart as you, I'm ashamed."

"Shut up!" Aliya shouted, and punched the bars that protected that strange man from getting hurt. "You are the police chief, arn't you? I hope that devil of a father didn't tell you to arrest an innocent and insult them, did he? I want Marilynne, now!"

"I'm deeply sorry, Miss. She is not here. she was picked up by her parents just a few minutes before you woke up. It's a shame, no? She was a great friend, and a fool. I told the parents to give her a decent beating when she got home, and guess what? They did it right here in the police station, in front of all my co-workers. That'll teach her a lesson. Now, someone is awaiting you...."

"That was a good show, eh Jordan?" I heard one police officer say to another as I passed by, looking for something to do.
"Yeah, watching that girl's parents beat on her was interestin' indeed." The other responded, then giving a description of that girl. It sounded like that girl from last night!

I shot a glare at the officers after hearing this, and began moving towards my new found destination, the local prison. Nobody deserved to be treated like that, especially a little girl. I was going to get to the bottom of this! It would pass the time at least.

After walking for a bit, I found myself outside the police station, and entered. I walked up to the man at the front desk, and asked, "Have any girls been broughten here in the past 8 hours?"
