Over the course of the anime, Team Rocket has had many disguises, a new one each and every episode. Some are...quite more elaborate than others. The only series where Team Rocket didn't have as many disguises was Unova when they had gotten an out of nowhere promotion. Anyway, what are some of your favorite Team Rocket disguises? Which do you feel could have actually worked? And which do you feel were their most paper thin disguises?

I think any disguise where they don't change or cover their hairstyles are the most obvious.

Also, in one episode of XY (I can't remember which one), they actually say "We are in no way suspicious people" when wearing disguises.

Actually, even by that, the ones that were bar none the most obvious were the innkeeper disguises early in DP (you know the ones: The ones where Jessie, James and Meowth only wore a green innkeeper jackets and glasses with paper fans, and the coats don't even cover up the tell-tale "R"s on their uniforms. Fourth DP episode I believe), and Meowth's Croagunk disguise during that contest (despite it being VERY obvious it was a Meowth in disguise, it managed to fool an entire town who had Croagunk as their official mascot, and even fool Brock, someone who, you know, actually OWNS a Croagunk, and not only that, but they even considered him the best one).

So far as Team Rocket disguises in general, in Kanto, they were actually pretty well disguised, at least well enough that they actually DID look like different people, and Misty actually saw through quite a few of them.

    My favorite TR disguises are:
    • "Salon Roquet" stylists: Jessie and James heavily disguise themselves when running a Pokémon beauty parlor. When they were giving Misty a makeover, Meowth blew their cover, and Misty finally realized what was really going on.
    • Vikings: In Pokémon: The First Movie, Jessie and James arrive on a canoe disguised as Vikings to pick up Ash & Co. to take them to New Island. When they all get caught in a wipeout, Jessie and James are revealed for who they really are, and Brock says "I should've known there was something fishy about them besides the way they smell!"
    • Parents of "Ashley": When Ash is trying to get into the Celadon Gym to battle Erika, Team Rocket disguises Ash as a little girl, then disguises themselves as "Ashley's" parents, complete with Meowth under James's shirt to simulate a gut (in which Meowth makes snarky comments, and even pops out of James at times).

There are two that stand out to me.

First, one of the most memorable episodes to me is one of the earliest DP episodes, where they are disguised as innkeepers and literally only add jackets and glasses. The Team Rocket Uniform, including the big red R, are plainly visible.

Second, back in Johto there was a disguise that was rather effective. There was an episode where James impersonated Professor Oak. Meowth was obvious, standing on Wobuffet with a coat and shades, Jessie was a reporter who was recognizable but not glaringly obvious. James had an actually good Oak disguise.
