I'm in Yellow, and I'm getting ready to face the E4. I have
    Pikachu
    Mew
    Charizard
    Blastoise
    Venusaur

What should I use for my 6th member? Kabutops? Gengar? NidoKing/Queen?

What moves do your current Pokemon have and what are their levels?
I mean, you could take out the E4 with a Blastoise if you wanted, in-game trainers in Yellow aren't that scary.

Personally, I always have one of the fast Pokemon (Tauros, Dugtrio, Aerodactyl, whatever) with Slash or Hyper Beam or something to OHKO Gary's Alakazam before it attacks, 'cuz that thing bugs me.

Honestly you don't need anyone else. Pika can sweep Loreli with Thunderbolt/Thunder (and you can use Char for Jynx). Bruno will go down to Mew/Saur or Toise. Agatha will go down to Mew. Blastoise can sweep Lance (Pika can help for Gyarados). And Rival would take Toise/Physical Attack/Zard for the first three and then Toise, Pika, and a Ground move for the last 3 pokemon, depending on who he evolved eevee into. Honestly, if I were you, I would keep the 5 you have, and maybe even drop Venusaur. Blastoise and Pikachu cover everything he is super effective on.l

As far as moves go, I recommend:
    Pika: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Filler, Filler
Blastoise: Ice Beam, Surf, Physical Move like Strength, Filler
    Charizard: Flamethrower, Fly, Earthquake, Slash
    Mew: Psychic, Filler, Filler, Filler

These are the only moves you need to beat the elite four.

Okay then! Well, Saur and Zard have Razor Leaf and Slash, so those'll just wreck stuff. I think I'll keep Saur. Which, ironically, is its name (PokeSpe). Maybe I'll use my Gengar to put stuff to sleep.

Hypnosis is fairly inaccurate, it works often enough but if I have a Ghost I find it easier to just OHKO stuff with Psychic or Thunderbolt or something. xD I have a Haunter with Hypnosis/Dream Eater, but only because it's weaker than a Gengar and I wanted backup if its attacks weren't hitting hard enough. Also, I was using it against Fighting types with Normal and Fighting moves. I could miss Hypnosis as often as I liked, no damage.
I've always liked Confuse Ray for its accuracy.

If you haven't taught Charizard Fly, I would. It's awesome that it finally gets a type-matched Physical move in Yellow, might as well take advantage of it. Plus, you gotta love having a Ground and a Flying move on the same Pokemon.

Well, you've got enough answers to suffice. Please use the in-game team help section next time.

    Locked.
