    [Tech]OS10.3? on a P4?

    I know this thread probably only appeals to Satoshi-kun and maybe one or two others, but I know frosty will read it anyways since he?s sweet. ;p

    I found a PowerPC emulator by the name of PearPC. So after quite a bit of work, and only four hours of sleep, I am installing Panther on my P4 system! It?s? a slow process as you can see from the screenshot. Probably buggy too, but I?m happy. Wee~~~ I?ll keep whoever?s interested updated. =p

    Nice... ^_^... I never knew that would work, but it's really interesting indeed.

    where did u get the emu? whats the link and does it need a rom???

    Wait a minute...how is it at 99% when its barely started? makes no sense...

    That picture looks falwd or forged in some way...the blue marking is only about 1/8th to the end but it says it's at 99%...

    HMM!?!?

    Ahh, yay replies! ^___^

    Satoshi?it runs fairly smooth. Kind of like controlling another PC over a net connection. The mouse is a bit jerky but it?s fast enough. (Edit: I fixed the redraw and now mouse movement is very smooth, it feels like about a 1.2 GHz machine which is fine) Its networking is disabled, so it can?t get online though. Still, it?s good enough for me~ I went out and got Panther just for this. Kind of a gamble, but hey it?s cheaper than a Mac. ^_^;;; It was a challenge though, because I did it without Darwin. I just booted from the CD again and used pdisk to move the virtual hard drive up to 2? or something. I was tired when I did it, but hey it works! Takes up a whole mess of RAM, but hey I have 2 gigs for a reason. ;D

    I haven?t had too much time ti play with it, but I do really like Expos? and of course the look and feel. Seems? simpler than Windows yet pretty powerful too. Sadly though, to get software into it I have to burn it to a disc, then rip it to an ISO, then mount it. O_O; Ahh well, I have some Mac articles to read?~

    For Dakota: =p

    :) Okay, I'll ask the question for the rest of the clueless members here. (But... I think I understood the networking part we're talking about now. *yays* oO)

    So... what exactly is this thing? In stupid-people terms. X3;;

    Thats coo.. I remember using SoftMac ages ago to do System 8, but I'm glad to see that PPC has FINALLY been emulated :D

    Wow... This is really amazing... But eh... As Lightning had asked... what is it and erm... What does it do? ^^''''

    Satoshi?yeah I think networking only works for *nix systems at the moment. Oh well.

    Lightning Miyu and Blaine? It?s kind of like a Gameboy emulator. This emulates a Macintosh without actually using one, like how you play a GBA game without a Game Boy. It?s quite a feat since the two have radically different architectures, and I?m a Mac lover even though I haven?t used one in years. So when I saw this chance I jumped at it. Pretty complicated, but eh. o.x;

    So here's the deal Kairi. Okay, You Changed your OS on your (or one of your computers) to Mac instead of Windows (which I find pretty cool) and now you can play super-cool games on your PC on a Omega-Emulator? :)

    Sorry I'm out of it today, It was a really rough day and crap but I'm trying to make the best of it. It's not really working though :(.

    Sounds cool! XD At least most Mac programs aren't buggy like all those for Windows.

    I?ve found a couple shareware apps I like.. .drag thing and Windowshade(I think that was the name?) They?re really intuitive! I have a pretty short limit on days I can use them though, being shareware. O.x;

    i found *but didnt buy* a copy of panther at a flea market or 6$us

    You could probably get a used one pretty cheap? considered eBay? Might not be a bad thing to look into at least. Do you own a copy of OSX or will you need to get that too? Don?t think all G3s come with it? then again I?m not a Mac expert. ^^;;;
