Teen Kills Mom for Taking Away His Video Game


I'm just glad it was Halo 3 and not Pokemon.

........See, it's this type of crap that gives decent Americans a bad name. :/

So he's not coming out till 2029? He should be in jail for life.
 
I've seen addictions to some things before, but that? That's going a little overboard. Perhaps this kid should get help.

You make it seem like all we have to do is walk outside and we can get a gun. I am sorry, but that is not the case at all. I am guessing it was more than likely a gun at the house or one from a friend. He definitely didn't go buy one.
 
Hot damn. That kid looks insane. Anyways, I don't believe in the death penalty, so I don't think that's the solution, but obviously this kid has some mental health issues, so it may serve more use if he goes to a mental institution to serve his prison time.
 
There has to be something actually wrong with him that he did something like that. I'm sure every kid had a moment in time where for a split secondt hey thought life would be better without one of, or both of their parents (which, in the first place, is obviously untrue). But to go this far? That's... Sickening.

Maybe the game got him thinnking death wasn't even real, but... Correct me if I'm wrong (never played it) but in Halo aren't you shooting down evil monsters, or bad guys? And he really thought that his mother was such an... evil monster, or whatever?

Meh, this whole thing makes me insecure. That if I have a child, and try to raise him the "right" way (you know, appropriate punishments, taking things away when they're bad) that I may as well be killed. That actually does worry me, I've thought about it alot. But for every parent, and every child, there's always that chance...

It's also scary somebody who you put years of effort into raising, giving a home, giving food... giving an expensive Xbox... to, would snap that easily. I agree with whoever said that he should be put in a psych ward / insane asylum / whatever you want to call it. Jail will only screw him up more..

But seriously thats just nuts.... How can anybody get so absorbed into a game that he thinks his own mother wasn't real...
Thats a mental problem right there...

Well, that isn't true. Sorry if it seemed like I meant that, it is easier than it should be though.
 
I think there is a connection in the game. As what i have researched in the Wikipedia:

My Answer:
Read the word "first-person shooter". I think he was addicted in shooting some enemies in the game. So when he become angry i think he shoot his mother by accident? Because of anger..And yes. It would really affect the game. Especially the Company. There would be issues about this.

The big thing that annoys me, is the media really do hate the games industry.

They aren't there to brain wash us into killing people.
The small 0.1% of people who do this are most likely to have something wrong with them.
If it isn't one thing, it will be another that they do.

Games aren't suppose to be taken seriously. Just because it is a first person shooter, doesn't mean that someone is going to get a gun and move fantasy to reality.

And FairyTales, this won't effect the game or the company, not in the slightest. And how did he "accidentally" shoot her?

 
Hey! Now video games get blamed for this even though the kid more than likely had mental issues in the first place and shouldn't have been playing them!
 
....He'll be 40 when he comes out of jail. That basically just ruined his whole life, due to even one SECOND of losing his self control. Obviously he has a disorder, it probably is from playing too much video games. It's unhealthy, and the parents shouldn't have let him do it. =[


Oh, and killing his own mom? Come on now.. There's something wrong there, you don't kill your mom, let alone anyone for taking away your video game. So yea, he deserves the sentence. I would rather die than spend 23 years in jail, though. =/

That is what I said before.
I honestly can't see a perfectly healthy human being acting in this way without some underlined cause to tamper with the equilibrium of the situation.
