Well, when I got the G.E.D, I lived in New Mexico, and according to state law, it is illegal to discriminate between people who have a G.E.D. and a High School Diploma. So I was not too worried, but now that I live in Kansas, I really should check in to that.
The reason I went the GED way, is because I was tired of school, I was board out of my mind (they would not advance me. I honestly took pre-algebra three years in a row.), and I was having issues with the staff at my local high school. When they tried to have me arrested (because I refused to give up my cellphone), I decided I had enough. I graduated with honors form the local college. I was failing at Goddard High. So, in some instances, the GED is a good way to go.
Call me crazy, but I miss high school. You'll see what I mean when you graduate. I look back on it now, and I realized that I probably should of stayed in.
Oh, and the real kicker, I never had my cell phone out. My friend did.
