Thanksgiving Event Has ENDED (Nov. 23 - Nov. 30)

The much expected Thanksgiving event has been announced by Niantic.

DOUBLE Stardust and XP!

On a personal note, I'll be off for the holidays and I'll try to see if I can break 500K XP a day Thanksgiving weekend... Hmm...

Not clear to me if we get double stardust from being in gyms (is this "completing an in-game action"? Maybe not.)

Yes, more and more people should be getting the feature soon.

It was datamined some time ago that the in-game tracker had updated code and it was speculated that it's rolling out of beta. Everyone on the U.S. west coast should have it by now and more on the way.

I must say the event resurrected a lot of players as I have seen increased number of lures activated as compared to recent weeks after Halloween.

And the double XP and stardust are working quite well! Factor in ditto then it's really a lure party! Happy Thanksgiving...

Not many lures here, because walking around where plenty of pokemon are is simply more efficient. You even have to walk slowly instead of walking normally if you want to catch them all.

The only purpose lures have right now is to allow you to sit around instead of walking.

The event certainly lit up the block where my office is located.

I got over 100K XP yesterday. You get 2K XP evolving with a lucky egg, but eventually I ran out of Pidgeys!

First catch of the day with a lucky egg also generates crazy XP.

I have close to 90,000 EP/100,00 EP which puts me much closer to Level 23 than I thought I'd be before spring. I also caught a Ditto under amazing circumstances early Monday morning. I know I'll feel let down and disappointed later this week when all this comes to an end. I know that the feeling is intentional. Contented players don't morph into whales.

Rumor has it that Gen. II will be coming through sometime in December, along with PvP, and potentially shiny Pokémon.

Most of this is through data-scraping and speculation upon scraping, so who knows for sure!

Yea, I heard about the Gen II and PvP. But not the shiny Pokemon. Although it would make sense to introduce them since they first came with Gen II also :)
