The 7th generation is in Singapore ?!

I'm hoping it'll be (south) France, Germany, Spain, or the U.K. I'm hoping that we can return to Kalos like we could to Kanto in GSC.

It is still possible that the town is based on Singapore but not the whole region. They did it before with Sootopolis being based on a greek island (the real island in Japan is barren irc).

Probably not going to be Singapore. The codename for S&M was Rainbow, and Hawaii is the rainbow state.
That leak is probably fake, but who knows at this point, we will have knowledge if it's true or not when they announce the release date. If it's November or December 21 or before it's likely true as the Rainbow leak said it'll come out fall 2016, and the reveal trailer for NA said Holiday 2016.

Having lived in Singapore in the past, I am gonna flip out (in joy) if Sun & Moon is based on SG - or anywhere in Asia that isn't Japan for that matter. Maybe we'll have some kind of Merlion equivalent XD

There's quite a lot of speculation saying that the new region might be Hawaii, which also seems likely because of the yellow fire trucks and the rainbow licence plates. Not to mention that Hawaii is also pretty much tropical and has a lot of fine hotels (tho I'm not sure if there any that looks like the one in the concept art).

Hoenn already got a negative reputation for having "too much water", and Hawaii seems to have even more of that. If the new region is really based on Hawaii, I wonder how will Gamefreak tackle this issue before 7.8/10 reviews pop out again.

Then again, Singapore is just too small. It doesn't have anything much besides a lot of high rise flats and other man-made structures.

If the region is based off of Singapore, I'm pretty sure Game Freak will work with that and add something other than "a lot of high rise flats and other man-made structures" and we could see the region being expanded to Malaysia. Though, the Raffles inspired building does seem to look American, European and Aussie, and there exists a similar Raffles Hotel in California.
And there's nothing wrong with a few fictional landmarks added to a Singapore based region, now is there?

I do Believe the Hawaii Idea more, Singapore is just a tad.... Bland? No, It's a nice place, but It just doesn't feel right.

Anyway, that 'hotel' looks like a gym to me. Mabye something akin to Nacrene Gym?

Please be based on the Southeast Asian Region. If S&M is gonna be based on the SEA Region, I'm betting the western side of the region would be urbanized, and the eastern side be rural and such :x

Remember in 2015 there was a Pokemon Rainbow rumor which said the next games will take place in a region based on South Asia? The "leaks" were correct...

Well, Singapore does have a few nice places. Little Guilin, Botanic Gardens, Henderson Waves... Just some of them.

The Raffles Hotel inspired area isn't really proof that these games take place in a Singapore-based location. Even though the building is a national monument and is one of Singapore's fanciest hotels, the structure isn't all that unique. If they showed photos of say, an in-game Esplanade, then it will be definite proof.

Maybe it is a combination of all the islands in the Pacific/Indian Ocean? It is going to be a bit odd if the Region is mainly islands. Then again, they based an entire region on such a small area for Unova.

The only way to confirm whether which part of the world is this region based on... I hope CoroCoro will reveal the shape of the region and that will be the biggest giveaway.

This is why I like fangames. Why do we need a region based off real life? use your imagination! If I wanted to go to Singapre, I would go in real life :p
