Yeah, I was sure you mant something like OC.
Yep, Like slapstick comedy..

Viewing things is okay at times, but I've always preffered to get involved in things, because I get a better understanding of what is happening, because I can question it too. Just watching means that I woudn't get the full-ness out of a conversation, and it'd be no use reading unless I was actually there participating.

OC or DCC, either one will suffice here in this context.

Actually, there's joy that only a bystander can get too in any conversation, including forum messages. As a bystander, you can certainly understand things that people involved cannot feel due to the biased emotions that come along with posts that got yourself involved... especially during forum drama, being a bystander is totally awesome =x You get to look at these people running around verbally killing each other over the most absurd of all topics. It's entertaining to read at times.

There's just those moments when you feel all giggly watching someone do something icky, instead of being the someone to do that icky stuff XD;

Oh, when you're in college or university, you'll automatically bound yourself to studying (though not necessarily hard, but you will study). I'm not so worried about you not changing your views on that one =x Really, when the profs don't teach you all of what's including in the exam, even the smartest freaks have to at least pick up the textbook to glance over it. That's only for the very top 1% of the world? For everyone else, it's time to grind at the impossible amount of info to absorb in class.

Being gifted only carries you so far (some further than others)
Omigosh, I haven't seen you in forever!

Wow, this place sucks now that Dawson's gone... it's gone all spammy and crappy again, ugh...

Yeah, I agree with Matt. The DCC has basically gone back to where it was before it tried to get sorted out. It's mainly filled with small, few word line replies. When the DCC started to get sorted it had those awesome big paragraphs 8D
And that's a major reason for me quitting. I, as well as quite a few people (yourselves included) put a lot of time and effort into dragging the DCC out of it's pit and, temporarily, ridding it of its crap shack reputation. And, for the most part, people enjoyed it and were happy to contribute.

In fact, I only heard one person complain directly about it, and that person wasn't even an active member anymore. But, we had members that normally avoid the DCC like the plague coming in, contributing and enjoying it, something that they hadn't done previously.

But, sadly, certain people just had to ruin it with their lack of ability to contribute to a decent conversation due to their obsession with gaining as many posts as possible while they're online.

And it's those members that are slowly killing PC by driving all of the good members away. You hear some of the older members talking about how good PC was during 2004-2005, it's because there was less of these types of members, but now they massively outnumber the good members.

If any of that offends you, that means you're one of them. Sad, but true.

Irony is lost on you.

That last part was like 'ouch'.

PC was good from 04-05. PC was also good before it got Quick Reply.

PC was actually fun back then, these days it's mostly members trying to act smart and up looking stupid or just really, really, really boring crap.

Oddly, since I stepped down from the staff, I've actually started to enjoy PC more.

How did PC get so popular? I like it when you refer to "the good old days".

I've posted more in the last week since I stepped down than I had in the last couple months, I think. XDD;

edit: PC got popular back when Ruby and Sapphire came out and that popularity never really went away. o_o

Well, you certainly have less to deal with as a member than as a staff member. You don't have decisions to make or things to mod -- you just get to post and do what you want. There's absolutely no pressure on you anymore. I'm sure that's more fun than having all the stress and crap that comes with power. ;3

I remember PC when I first joined... I agree, those were definitely the fun times. It's not that PC is totally bad right now; it was just better then than it is right now. I liked the members and threads then more than now.
I'd almost kill to have those times back, but I don't think anything will ever come close to it again. It's a hard atmosphere to replace. All we can hope that things will turn out better than they are now.

Yeah, it's kind of weird, but at least I don't miss the work or anything like I thought I would. XD

Yes, it's very fun to be a lowly member again, kinda helped me not quit PC altogether actually. XD

Yeah, PC is totally horrible right now, but I much preferred it back in the day. Right now it's hard to find times when I actually enjoy it, or it was, since lately I've been enjoying PC a lot.

I caught the tail end of those times. They were definitely fun, there's no doubt about it. There just aren't as many active, fun people around anymore. I think PC is going through a rather large process of change right now though. Seems like there's been more staff demotions and promotions in the last few months than the 2 years prior to that. =\

I haven't missed the work yet either Jorfe. Though I have reported stuff. Did you hear it took me forever to actually find the report button my first time? XDD

We didn't need new mods as much back then since the staff was always around and activity never fluctuated like it does now. :B

We joined at more or less the same time. I wouldn't exactly call that period the tail end per se; the start of the decline would more accurately be traced back to sometime after January 2006.

I still remember some of the older staff for some odd reason. Just call me really perceptive. All these recent demotions, promotions, and resignings still caught me by surprise, though.

Why, what's so bad about this place today? What did the old PC have that today's PC doesn't? What's so hard about restoring "the good old times"? We still get the respect that we reserved today, so I can't complain.

Am I even allowed in this conversation?

Doubt PC got any better or any worse... as much as I always say how old PC is also "better," when I say it, I always get smashed by virtual stone down to the pits =x I wonder why we can say the same thing and people end up agreeing on it now hm?

I think that it's just... aging. The "good members" certainly didn't vanish in the midair... but back in 04-05, what's Frosty doing? Bumming around the house, chatting with people 8 hours a day on MSN if not more, and doing 10 minute of homework a day? When it's unit exam, it's at max 1 hour of studying unless it's history, and I'll pull a 85 out of the thin air with minimal effort. What's life in 07? Just ended a massive torture of a real all-nighter studying biology, and I can barely maintain a 64% now in university.

Like... look at who dominates DCC 2 years ago. They're all in their good old high school prime, or even younger. Arcanine pulls out massive posts every day and literally sits in DCC to ensure that it's *constantly* getting new posts. 22sa can do 140 posts every single day and it's not even in summer time. Then there's all these other people too like Lighty and all others who i didn't mention... look at the age now for this group of people. They're either getting into university/college within a year or at most two, or they're in one already.

Really... just that we're aging, and slowly moving onwards... while new people don't really have these role models to really follow to keep up the traditional, since these role models are all... getting a little old, and overloaded with PC staff work (notice how this group of people... almost all of them has been staff at one point or even admin?). lol...

And to those who just recently "retired": I TOLD you peonship owns back then in 05, but nooooo none of you agree with me until now DX

(XD)

Oh and hi to you too Pokejungle =x I know, we completely lost contact after you left for Japan XD

Hey, back in 05, I was having the time of my life on staff. :[ It's just in the last year or so that it's dwindled, and in the last couple months that I've disliked it to the point of leaving.

But I agree. We're aging and that's probably the biggest problem. XD
