Bleach English Dub: Is not something I'm going to be watching, EVER again. It's not a bad dub, it was actually really well done, for a dub, but after seeing them in their full Japanese Glory, well... :/

MotM: Hmm, can't say much on this topic, nor old PC, I wasn't around for that. I vote in the MotM based on who really deserves the spot, even if they might not be known around PC, or anything like that. But since my knowledge of members is rather limited, and not all of my friends here apply to categories like... 'most...likely to get abducted... by aliens...< <;;' I usually leave a lot of spots empty.

So I'll just cross my fingers and hope this post doesn't get blown off. < <; *again*

2k posts. Whee~
I am so sick of people that complain about English stuff.

Go ahead, learn Japanese so you can watch anime...but just realize that it is NOTHING special here. It may be the 'original', but the English one can be just as good as its counterpart if its done right. And the English one was made for *you*, and you don't see Japan fanatics watching it because they like English better than Japanese.

I am so sick of おたく.

Full Japanese glory, eh? Well, that's too bad; the English dub at the very least rivals the original Japanese in terms of quality. With the same actors who've worked on Trigun, Ghost in the Shell, FLCL, and Cowboy Bebop (among a great many other excellent English dubs), what can go wrong?

Cowboy Bebop was a good show. o.o Edward was so cute~ XD

Paul: I actaully like the english stuff better because I can understand what's actaully going on. If I watched subbed...I can't get the story like I should.

Then again, people actually VOTE back then, and it's like 3 member slots in every category, with like only leaving one category empty in the entire ballot. Now it's mostly empty XD; But then, the last MOTM got tons of these most bizarre categories ever... this month of april resembles the old MOTM votes quite a bit though. FOr once, Pokemon fanfiction FINALLY got a vote back after being shafted in favor of "who's most likely to be abducted by aliens" slot... eh.

Somehow MOTM also lost the charm... I was really looking forward to MOTM results back then. They actually mean quite a bit as a lot of people vote, and people take their time religiously to vote for the best candidate... Maybe I'm being too uptight about this thing, eh, so I'll shut up XD;
That's because there were fewer people and everyone pretty much knew each other then. Now PC's filled with little cliques that all just vote for each other and everyone feels either left out or they won't vote because the results are the same month after month. :\

Haha, I learnt Japanese for anime and manga. I don't regret it either, though, since while I may have an ever-dwindling interest to actually visit the country (and no interest whatsoever to live there), I still like being able to translate stuff on my own and whatnot. :[ It's fun. Though importing books and the like is SO expensive. DX

Wouldnt it be hard learning from Anime and Manga? o_o

Wow, its so different seeing you without a red name....XD It really is, Erica!

Oh, I took classes for three years. So I probably know Japanese equivalent to, say, a two-year-old. XD; Until I get to university and can take it again, though, the only way I have to keep myself from forgetting is Japanese books and such. :x

And...I know. x_X; I'm still not used to it either. XD

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I have long regretted my decision to take Spanish instead of Japanese. Sure, Spanish comes in handy where I live, but still.

For the record, my interest in the Japanese language came long before my interest in anime and manga.

My interest in Japanese came from anime, I'll admit that much. XD; And that's still really all I use it for aside from using it to know what I'm ordering at Japanese restaurants. XD

I don't regret taking it for that reason though. Given the choice I'd still take it over the other languages I could learn. =\

The only reason I would wan't to learn Japanese is because I love Nintendo. I don't like anime. Understanding what Mr. Miyamoto would say would be very honorable.

I can speak minimal Spanish and Portuguese, but no Japanese. =\

We only do Spanish, French and Latin at our school, I would've liked it if they taught a bit Japanese aswell, but it wouldn't make a difference for me now if they did because I've already chosen my GCSE Subjects for next year XD; I know only a few simple phrases, such as "Hello" and that simple stuff. XD

I don't bother trying to learn Japanese from Anime or Manga, although I have learnt a few more words 'cause they are used so much that it just sticks in my head. I tend to watch the Japanese version with English Subs, although if I don't feel like reading I just watch the English Dubbed ones. XD

I've only ever watched Anime with English Subs. I feel like the Dubs would be bad for some reason. o.o;;

Wow, your school teachers Latin? We get taught French and German from Year 7 onwards, so I can speak a little of each if I'm pressured. I never decided to continue them on at GCSE, which is a shame as looking back, I'd have probably enjoyed learning French. Oh well, I'm sure if I ever need it I can study it during an evening class or something. However, I think for GCSE you do get the option to learn Spanish as well as the other two, but I got told against it because our teacher wasn't exactly a "master" at it herself, and the pass rate for our school was astonishingly low.

My school only teaches French and Italian. I would've liked to learn Spanish, but alas, it's not there. Nor do I have room for it anyway. XD;

To take Japanese, I had to go to Saturday school. I finished grade 12 Japanese last year, and I was going to take either Korean, Greek, or Mandarin Chinese this year but...I valued my sleeping in on Saturdays more than learning those languages so sadly I didn't. XD;

Yeah, but Latin isn't taught throughout year 7, 8 and 9 'cause it only gets taught to those who want to study it at GCSE XD *I don't think that sentence makes sense... XD* I quite like Spanish, I was thinking of choosing it as one of my subjects but I ended up changing my mind and put it on my reserves. Most of the other secondary school around my area force you to take a language if you're in top set, fortunately at my school you have a choice. XD

We have about two teachers that are awesome at teaching languages, the teacher we have for French doesn't even teach us anything, most of the time she talks about the trips to Paris that she has gone to -_-; Oh, she also talks non-stop about how important it is to choose 2 languages if we are serious about languages... we obviously know that already. Most of the time everyone is so bored with her talking about her personal life that we actually want to get some work done. D:

You'd be surprised at how good most dubs are. Seriously.

Your school offers Italian, Korean, Greek, and Mandarin Chinese? Lucky.

My school only started offering Mandarin Chinese this year, but I couldn't take it because it was the same period as my AP Calculus class.

No, no. There's a school that opens on Saturdays in my school board that teaches a lot of international languages. Those are just some of the languages--I think there's a list of about 15--that are offered at that school.

At my regular day school, it's just French and Italian. D: And...yay, Calculus. XD

That would be the same as Spanish or me then. I've always been fascinated by Latin, it would have been great if it was an option here; I may have even taken it for GCSE. I don't know why I didn't actually choose an language. I think it was because I was in crappy low set and didn't really like the way my teacher taught us -- she wouldn't explain anything, just expect you to know it all already and I was stunned at what we had to do. It's a bit like my English teacher now. I hate, hate, hate her teaching methods. Anyway, in Years 7 and 8 I used to be good at languages then something happened an I got dropped into a middle set. Ugh. Up until a couple of years ago it was also compulsory for you to study a language at GCSE, too, but they dropped all compulsory subjects except for mathematics, science, and English. I believe in some high schools here you have to study ICT or you can take two ICT GCSEs or something. I'm not very well up on other schools.

Hah, that so sounds like my form tutor. Apparently when he's teaching a class he'll talk about all the trips he's made to Germany and France, and none of the class learn a single thing expect a biography of the teacher.XD
Important to take two languages? You're not allowed to do that at my school. Due the amount of coursework and such it's advised you take one subject from each category so it all balances out with coursework deadlines. Otherwise you've got two major pieces of work due for the same day.

Haha, that's one of my math teachers. It's the hardest math in the whole curriculum, and he doesn't TEACH it. He barely speaks English--which is fine, since it's just math--but above that, he can't teach. He just gives examples and expects you to know what he's talking about already. But we CAN'T because he hasn't TAUGHT us what he's doing. It's so frustrating because my mark drops so drastically because of that. ;_;'
