Route A
Century stood at the edge of Route A for a small amount of time, before finally stepping into the only way out of Chrome Town, the heavily forested Route A. The tall grass seems like its in dire need of a trimming, but nothing that would stop Century.

"Hmph, seems like someone's beaten me out." Century notes to himself as he holds a fixation on the beaten path that has seemingly been walked lately. His Surskit on his shoulder seems comfortable. "Ready to venture out, Surskit?" Century grins to his pokemon companion he says almost affectionately, as he adjusts his unzipped leather jacket and steps into Route A. He reaches into his breast pocket and pulls out his pokedex, and examines it as he walks on the small path.

Century accesses the map section of his pokedex and looks at Route A. "Doesn't look too long..." He mutters to himself, as he continues to walk down the path, not too conscious of what is around him. He breathes in deeply, the fresh scent of grass filling his nostrils. He stops for a brief moment, sensing something. As he continues to walk through the grassy area, bushes shake behind him. Century turns around to address the situation, pulling out his pokedex. His Surskit sits on his shoulder, not really aware of the situation, but at the same time, Century can almost feel the tension between himself and whatever is on the other side of the bush..

Suddenly, a purple snake jumps out and tries to bite Century, but he nimbly moves out of the way. He grabs his pokedex and points it toward the purple snake.

"Ekans, the Snake Pokemon." The computerized voice starts, "It sneaks through grass without making a sound and strikes unsuspecting prey from behind." The pokedex then silences, and Century slips it back into his breast pocket.

"Oh, you think you're gonna have me?" Century smiles, as he holds out his arm, and Surskit looks at him in slight fear. "C'mon Surskit, you can do it!" Century eggs him on, and his pokemon jumps off of his shoulder. "Alright, now lets see what attacks you know, Surskit." Century then pulls out his pokedex and looks up information on his Surskit.

"Surskit only knows Bubble at this level." It says mechanically to Century.

"Just bubble? Alright Surskit, lets do this!" Century calls out, and the wild Ekans springs for the bug/water type pokemon. "Dodge now Surskit!" Century's pokemon does that, moving out of the way of the Ekans. "Now use Bubble!" Century calls out and suddenly, bubbles emit from the mouth of Surskit, hitting the wild Ekans and causing it to slither around the ground, out of the sight of Surskit and Century.

"Alright, hold your ground now.." Century comforts his pokemon, as it stands in the middle of the path calmly.

Ekannnsssss

Suddenly, the purple snake bursts out of the bushes again, and wraps itself around Surskit!

"Hold on Surskit, use your bubble attack!" Century calls out, and Surskit begins blowing bubbles into the body of the wild Ekans, prying him off of himself. The wild pokemon uses its leer technique on Surskit, something that Century learned from watching Brock's pokemon battles back in Kanto.

The Ekans capitalizes on its chances, and shoots itself toward the slightly fear stricken Surskit...

"Surskit, you can do this! Move out of the way and use your Bubble attack again!" Century calls out and Surskit abides, dodging out of the way before the Ekans can hit it. Century then watches at the wild purple snake crashes into a base of a tree. Century then throws a pokeball toward the wild Ekans, and waits as the red light emits the pokemon into the ball.. It rocks back and forth...

Chapter 2: The Race Is On!

He set his backpack on the ground, and pulled out the Pokeball that his starter was in. "Let's go!" IN a red flash, Barry's new Pokémon was released. "Chimchar!" it yelled, jumping around like a mad person. It was mostly orange, but had a yellow face, stomach, and yellow hands and feet. "CHIMMMMCHAR!" Barry pulled out the orange Pokedex he had received from the professor.

"Chimchar, the Chimp Pokémon. IT is very agile. Before going to sleep, it extinguishes the flame on its tail to prevent fires." The 'Dex said.
"Odd…." Barry said, staring at the Chimchar. "Well, let's go!" he said, grabbing Chimchar by the paw and pulled him towards the path leading to the next route. The walked up to the sign. "Route A. A Route. A First Route. AS IN, The First Letter Of The Alphabet. First. Route."

"How……..odd….." Barry said, wondering who had written the sign. "Anywho!" He turned, picked up Chimchar and flung him on his shoulder, and walked towards the route.

It was very grassy, as in, there was grass everywhere. It was tall, and green, and Barry couldn't see over it. "How the he-?" He started, but then he noticed it. Something was moving in the grass.
"Chimchar!" Chimchar whispered, pointing. IT was then that Barry realized what it was. A Linoone tail. Barry held up his POkedex to scan it.

"Data Invalid." It said.

"But….why?" Barry questioned. He picked up a pebble, and tossed it and the Pokémon. The grass moved, and then, it started rising, as if the Pokémon was standing up. And then, Barry received a shock.

"HEY!" a voice cried, from where the Pokémon was. Barry realized it was a human! "You watch where you're throwing! Who are you, anyway!?" the girl asked.

"I'm Barry", Barry answered. "Uhh….why are you…..?"

"OH!" the girl shouted. "I'm Emily, and….well; this is a disguise, to attract Pokémon."

"It doesn't look like it's working…" Barry thought, just as someone ran up to the clearing they stood in, through the grass. It was Disco. "Hey hey! Emily, Barry, what goes on?"

"Nothing…" the two said in unison.

"Anyways, let's race. First one to the end of the route wins!" Disco said, running off.

"See ya'!" Emily shouted, running through the grass. The race had begun.

Route A: Early steps

Creed walked out into the high grass and with the assistance of his new Pokemon pulled the blades of grass apart as he ventured forward. Behind him Creed could here frantic footsteps.

"Who's there?" He yelled out behind himself.

"Finally I've caught up with you." Came a response. Out from the grass walked the guard with a ball being held tight in his outstretched palm.

"I believe we have some unfinished buisness kid." The man said tossing his ball out onto the ground. Out of the red light came a small doglike Pokemon standing ready for battle, Creed pulled out his pokedex.

Poocheyena
A Pokémon with a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until the prey becomes exhausted.

"Go Poochyena, use bite!" The guard yelled and his Pokemon began rushing at Machop its mouth prepared to chomp down.

"Low kick Machop!" Creed yelled out and his Pokemon jumped forward and kicked the dog Pokemon right in the mouth, the dog let out a yelp and went tumbling back.

"Grr, Poochyena use sand attack!" The dog swung around and kicked a large amount of sand into Machops eyes. Machop immidiatly began shaking his head back and fourth trying to clear his eyes of sand.

"Now use tackle!" Poochyena began rushing towards Machop again but this time lowering his head. Machop took the hit and fell backwards hard onto the sand.

"Don't take that Machop, use leer and then low kick once more!" Machop stood and glared at the Poochyena who slowly backed off, then while the dog Pokemon was backing up Machop ran at the Pokemon and slammed his foot square between the Poochyenas eyes. The Pokemon cried out and fell to the ground.

"Get up Poochyena!" The man yelled but to no avail, his Pokemons legs were weak and it couldn't stand. It fell to the ground and this time didn't get back up. The man pulled out the Pokemons ball and returned his Pokemon.

"So..." Creed said. "Isn't there some sort of prize money system for winning?" Creed said with a confident expression.

"No." The guard said curtly and just walked back angrily swatting at the grass.

"Oh well," Creed said turning back to the path ahead and placing his hand on Machops head. "Great job buddy, you handled that like a real pro!"

OOC: Finally got time to post. The library hasn't been open lately. My comp. will be fixed soon, so it'll be easier for me to post soon. Ok, first post:

Irene was jolted awake by a loud knocking on her door. She heard her mother downstairs, shuffling to the door, and opening it. There was a soft murmuring, then a set of footsteps were coming up the stairs. Her sister, Heather, appeared a moment later.

"Reeeeeena! The soldier is here to escort you to the laboratory! Get upp!" Heather said in her sing-song voice. Jumping up and down excitedly. Irene, or "Rena" as everyone called her, hopped out of bed and practically danced to her closet. She had her clothes waiting, a tight-fitting neon purple T-shirt and a black vest, black faded jeans, and purple and black hightops. She pulled her hair back into a loose ponytail after brushing it, then bounded down the stairs, Heather at her heels.

The soldier was waiting at her table. He stood when she entered and Irene smiled. She grabbed her small bag full of essentials, and headed out the door, a doughnut in her hand. The soldier and Irene walked in polite silence. When they reached their destination, Prof. Cedar's laboratory, the soldier said a polite good-bye and left. Irene walked into the lab, looking around in wonder. A pretty younger woman greeted her.

"Good day. You must be Irene. I've been expecting you! I am Professor Cedar." Prof. Cedar greeted Irene with a brisk handshake. She quickly turned and picked up six Pokeballs. One in one hand, which Irene took as her new Pokemon, and five in the other. Prof. Cedar handed Irene the Pokeballs, and then turned again. This time she came back with a Pokedex. Cedar turned it on and showed Irene how it worked. After a short explanation, Cedar ushered Irene out the door. "Now, get going! Happy travels!" the professor said, wlaking back into the lab.

Irene smiled and called out her Pokemon. A green Pokemon appeared in a flash of light. It looked at her curiously.

"Tree?" it asked, confused. Irene whipped out her Pokedex at the Pokemon.

Treeko, It said. The wood gecko Pokemon. The soles of it's feet are covered by countless, tiny spikes, enabling it to walk on walls and ceilings.

"Hmm, a Treeko, huh?" Irene mused, staring back at the Pokemon. She bent down to it's level. "Hello there! Im gonna be your new trainer! Im Irene." she said.

"Tree." Treeko nodded, staring at Irene.

"So, you need a nickname. Hm, how about Sonny? My mom always called by big sister that." Irene asked the Treeko. He looked at her, and nodded, one quick nod.

"Ok, Sonny. Let's get going. Gotta start our journey." Irene said with a smile. She let Sonny travel outside of his Pokeball for the time being, and started into the vast world that she was now a part of.

Century watched as the pokeball rattled back and forth, containing the wild Ekans that he had just battled. It rolled along the ground for a few brief moments, before finally coming to a halt, signaling that the wild Ekans had been indeed caught. He walks up to the motionless pokeball and picks it off of the ground, and holds it in the palm of his hand. His Surskit walks alongside him, and Century kneels down and holds out his palm to Surskit.

"This is the first pokemon we'll catch together, Surskit." Century smiles broadly, as Surskit lets out a small call of joy. He reaches into his leather jacket and places the pokeball containing Ekans into the second of six pokeball holsters as the other one is holding Surskit's pokeball. Century then holds his arm out, and Surskit quickly scatters up Century's arm and back up onto his shoulder, as he stands straight up and begins to continue through the thick grass of Route A.

A few minutes pass, as Century continues to walk slowly, Surskit on his shoulder. His left hand is playing with his necklace of a Boulder Badge to seemingly pass the time. The forest is silent, Century's footsteps the only thing making noise. "We had best get out of here, shouldn't we?" Century looks over to his Surskit and questions. His pokemon seems to nod, and Century continues his walking pace.

"You want to find your way out?" A squeaking male voice behind him says loudly, causing Century to turn around, annoyed.

"Who asked you?" Century turns around and calls, the path behind him empty. "Show yourself!" He yells again, and out from the trees comes a boy dressed in camouflage shorts and a white t-shirt.

"I know the way out!" He proclaims.

"Okay, lets here it." Century speaks slowly, highly annoyed by this small child within the minute they have met.

"You have to beat me in a battle first to know!" He grins.

Seriously? Century thinks to himself. "Fine, lets do this." Century says, and waits for a short amount of time, analytical of what the boy is going to do.

The small boy takes a pokeball from his belt, and tosses it into the path as a red light emits from it, and a small, sand colored mouse pops out of the pokeball.

Century holds up his pokedex to the pokemon.

"Sandshrew, the mouse pokemon." It begins mechanically, "Disliking water, it lives in deep burrows in arid areas. It can roll itself instantly into a ball."

Perfect, Century thinks, It's weak to the water type. This is a sure advantage for me. He grins, as he looks to his Surskit.

"Go Surskit, you can do it!" He calls out, and the water/bug fusion hops off of his shoulder and into the center of the path, where it stares down the Sandshrew.

"Sandshrew, use your scratch attack!" The boy calls out and before both Surskit and Century can do anything, Sandshrew leaps into the air and delivers a scratch attack to the body of Surskit, knocking it on its back.

"Surskit, lets show this kid who's the man around here! Use your bubble attack!" Century commands, and Surskit abides, shooting bubbles in the direction of the Sandshrew.

"Sandshrew! Use your defensive curl! Now!" The boy calls out, but its too late, as by that time the Ground pokemon had been bombarded by bubbles, knocking it flat on its back.

"Surskit, use your bubble attack again!" Century calls out, and Sandshrew is just getting to his feet before he is hit with a barrage of bubbles once again, but this time stays on its feet.

"Sandshrew, use Sand Attack! Now" The boy calls out, and Sandshrew digs at the ground, before managing to shoot some up into the air, blinding Surskit. "Now! Follow up with a Scratch attack!" He commands again, and the Sandshrew flies at Century's Surskit, before hitting it with a scratch attack, causing it to fly back.

"Don't give up Surskit! You can do it!" Century calls out encouragingly. Slowly, Surskit gets to his feet. "Alright Surskit, use a Bubble attack!" Century calls out once more.

"Sandshrew! Go through it and deliver a scratch attack!" The boy trainer calls out. Surskit begins to blow bubbles, and Sandshrew tries to run through them, and begins to succeed.

"Come on Surskit! Use everything you got!" Century encourages, and with those words, Surskit blows more and more bubbles at a higher velocity, before finally blowing Sandshrew back into the ground where he came from.

"Come on Sandshrew! Get up!" The boy trainer calls out to his wounded pokemon. Sandshrew attempts to get up, but fails to do so, now rendering himself knocked out.

"Great job Surskit, we did it!" Century kneels down beside his tired pokemon, and rubs him on his head, before his Surskit falls down, exhausted.

"We aren't quite done here yet!" The boy calls out, before returning his Sandshrew into his pokeball and grabbing another from his belt. "Go Rattata, you can do this!" The boy calls out and his purple rat appears ready on the battlefield. Century pulls out his pokedex from his breast pocket and holds it out to the opposing pokemon.

"Rattata," It begins, "Cautious in the extreme, its hardy vitality lets it live in any kind of environment."

Surskit tries to get up and battle the purple rat. "No, Surskit, you're too tired to battle. Return!" Century calls out, and reaches into his jacket's holster and holds out Surskits pokeball. A red light emits from the ball, and sucks Surskit back into the ball. Century then clips the pokeball back onto his belt and pulls out the one containing Ekans.

You're tired Ekans, but I know you can do this! Century thinks, as he throws his pokeball onto the battlefield. "Ekans! I choose you!" Century calls out, and the purple snake pokemon appears on the battlefield.

"Alright Rattata, use your tail whip attack!" He calls out, and Rattata just stands there and whips its tail. Century thinks for a second, before pulling out his pokedex and looking up what attacks that his Ekans has.

"Ekans knows Wrap and Leer at this level." It answers in a monotone, mechanical voice, before Century returns it to his breast pocket. "Alright Ekans, use Leer!" Century commands, and his Ekans gives Rattata a death glare, scaring it a little bit. However, Century doesn't really notice.

Alright, lets finish this kid. Century confides in himself.

"Alright, use Wrap now Ekans!" Century calls out, and slowly than usual, his Ekans slithers across the path and wraps itself around the body of Rattata, squeezing tightly.

"Rattata, try to escape!" The boy trainer calls out.

"Ekans, wrap tighter!" Century commands, and his Ekans abides, wrapping itself tighter around the Rattata, rendering it unable to move.

"Come on Rattata, you can do it!" The boy calls out. Rattata tries to struggle, but Ekans keeps a firm chokehold going. "Come on! Try harder!" The Rattata tries, but is unable to escape.

"Ekans, finish it! Wrap as hard as you can!" Century commands, and without hesitation, the purple pokemon wraps itself hard around Rattata, before loosening its grip, and slithering toward Century, as the Rattata lays motionless on the ground.

"Come on Rattata, get up!" The boy calls out, and the purple rat is unable to move. Meanwhile, Century is petting his Ekans, congratulating it on its good job well done.

"Great job Ekans!" Century smiles, and his Ekans curls up beside him. "I'm so glad I caught you." He grins, before looking up to the boy. "So, wheres the way out of here?"

The boy grimaces for a second, but slowly sighs, knowing he has suffered defeat. "Alright, go straight and take your first left."

"Thanks." Century glances down toward his Ekans and looks back up, but the boy has disappeared into the forest once more. "Hm. Interesting." Century then stands up, reaching in his jacket and pulling out a pokeball.

"Ekans, return!" He says, and holds out the pokeball toward the purple snake, before a red light emits from the pokeball and touches Ekans, before warping it back into the pokeball. Century puts the pokeball back onto its holster, before continuing through the straight forest, looking for his first left..

Finally it came to a slow stop, the red light blinking. Shelby blinked, and then a grin spread out on her face. I just caught my very first Pokémon! She thought excitedly. Cyndaquil blinked when Shelby picked her up and hugged the little Pokémon. Suddenly Cyndaquil began to grow hotter, so Shelby carefully set her down. Cyndaquil looked up at Shelby innocently. Ah what a lovely little Pokémon, she thought as she walked over to Mareep's Pokeball. Shelby picked it up, and then turned back to Cyndaquil who was sitting on the rock.

"How about we meet our new friend, huh?" Shelby asked Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil replied happily. Shelby tossed the Pokeball lightly, and Mareep appeared in a flash of white light. She looked tired still, but not as bad as she had been in the battle. "So let's see what attacks you know so far," Shelby murmured, pulling out her Pokedex. Mareep had walked over to the rock and was now looking at Cyndaquil. Shelby made a note that Mareep only knew tackle. Oh well, we'll get her all trained up, Shelby thought, snapping her Pokedex shutting and storing it away.

Mareep stuck her head in Shelby's back suddenly. Shelby cried out and walked over to the Pokémon, tugging the backpack away from her. Mareep looked up, a berry dangling from her mouth innocently. Shelby blinked and scratched her head as Mareep ate the berry in one gigantic bite. Very bold to go right into my backpack, Shelby thought. She shook her head and patted the Pokémon on its head.

"Well, I suppose I had better get moving again," Shelby stated. Her Pokémon looked up at her, almost as if they understood. Shelby grabbed their Pokeballs and recalled them. She then clipped them onto the outside of her backpack, finally finding use for the hooks she told her brother she never would. A gust of wind blew through the grassy field, and Shelby found that she couldn't remember which way she had come from.

Well this sure as heck isn't good, Shelby thought. After a moment of thought, Shelby noticed that her footprints were still slightly visible in the dirt. She stood up and pulled her map out of her pocket. Then, unfolding it as carefully as she could, Shelby began her walk to the next town again.

It took a while, but Shelby at least knew she was heading in the right direction. The sun was high in the sky now and the heat in the grass was almost unbearable. Shelby sighed and wiped her forehead again. She looked around and saw that a few Pokémon were hiding in the tall grass here and there, but other than that it was basically silent. Then there was a shout, and a boy come tumbling out of the grass. He knocked into Shelby and set them both topping in the grass.

"Oops, sorry," he said, pushing off of her and rubbing the back of his head.

"Yeah, no problem," Shelby grumbled, pushing up from the dirty ground and wiping her hands off on her pants. The kid studied her for a moment, looking very thoughtful. "Uh…is there something wrong?" Shelby asked in confusion.

"I wanna battle you!" he exclaimed suddenly. "Do you have two Pokémon?"

"Yeah, I just caught—"

"Alright! Here we go!" Without waiting for Shelby to accept or decline, the boy grabbed two Pokeballs. He tossed them, and two Pokémon Shelby had never seen appeared before her in a flash of white light. She quickly grabbed her Pokedex. Shelby saw that the smaller Pokémon that was brown and white was called a Zigzagoon. The other Pokémon, a small blue bird, was called Taillow. Shelby then grabbed her Pokeballs and summoned Mareep and Cyndaquil.

Shelby swallowed heavily, I'm not very sure about this. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could the boy had ordered a peck attack on Cyndaquil. "Mareep, help Cyndaquil out and tackle Taillow!" Shelby called without really thinking. She blinked, realizing that she had just reacted almost instantly. Maybe that's how you do it, she thought. Then Taillow swooped suddenly towards Cyndaquil. Mareep leaped up, smashing into the small bird and sending it tumbling to the ground. The boy looked startled.

"Zigzagoon use tackle on Mareep! Taillow go for another peck on Cyndaquil!" the boy ordered. Zigzagoon ran for Mareep. Taillow fluttered about for a moment, and then flapped in the air and dove towards Cyndaquil.

"Both of you use tackle!" Shelby shouted. Mareep rammed into Zigzagoon head on, both Pokémon colliding together. They skidded back away from each other, ready to go on with the battle. Taillow had swooped low and was about to peck Cyndaquil when it leapt up and slammed against Taillow. "Good job!" Shelby shouted. "Now finish it off with another tackle attack!" Cyndaquil ran over to Taillow who had fluttered to the ground once more. With about as much as it could muster, Cyndaquil slammed into Taillow, sending it smashing into an area of thick grass.

"Taillow!" the boy called. He clenched his teeth and looked back at the battle. "Zigzagoon, use tackle on Cyndaquil!" he shouted angrily. Zigzagoon nodded and charged for Cyndaquil who was recovering from the tackle. It slammed into Cyndaquil, sending the small Pokémon skidding back against the grass. Mareep pawed at the ground and, without waiting for an order, charged at Zigzagoon. "Zigzagoon, watch out for Mareep!" the boy said, pointing back to where Mareep was charging. Zigzagoon turned around, but it was a little too late. Mareep smacked into Zigzagoon, and the Pokémon rolled into the grass.

"Alright!"

"We're not done yet!" he shouted. "Taillow, quick attack!" Taillow burst out of the grass. It slammed into Mareep and sent her crashing against a small boulder. Shelby cried out as she watched. Mareep slumped, clearly down for the count. No way! Shelby thought. She then ordered Cyndaquil to use tackle. Cyndaquil leapt towards Taillow, but it simply flew out of the way and dodged. Shelby clenched her fists, trying to think of what she could do.

"Cyndaquil, use tackle again!" Shelby called. Cyndaquil leapt up, but missed yet again. The boy noticed something, and then there was a flash of red light as he recalled Zigzagoon. Shelby blinked and recalled Mareep. It looked like they were tied in the match, both down one to one.

"Taillow, let's finish 'em off! Use quick attack once more!" the boy called to his Taillow. Taillow cawed and flew towards Cyndaquil quickly. Shelby called for a tackle attack. The two Pokémon collided, crashing into the grass behind Shelby. Shelby turned around, looking for the Pokémon. A few moments later, Cyndaquil emerged. She looked battered and beaten up, but there was no sign of Taillow. The boy clenched his teeth and then ran over. Taillow was lying in the grass, completely knocked out. He sighed and recalled Taillow.

"Nice battle," Shelby said meekly. She recalled Cyndaquil. I can't believe I even won that, she thought.

The boy put away his Pokeballs and then turned towards her. "Yeah, I suppose it was," he confessed. He stuck out his hand. They shook and then Shelby turned and began walking towards Tin City once more.

After what seemed like hours of sweat and aching muscles, she saw that the grass was beginning to thin. A grin spread across her face as she jogged towards the city. Then the grass was gone, and the city was in her sights. Finally…I made it to Tin City, Shelby thought, wiping her forehead on the back of her hand.

After a couple of hours Creed felt it was finally appropriate to take a break, he pushed across some grass and laid down on his back. Machop on the other hand sat down in a meditative position and began breathing deeply. Cred kept one eye opened barely and focused on his Pokemon who began glowing with an orange aura.

Machop stood back up and with a calm expression lifted his whole body with a single finger and began pushing himself up and down off the ground. The expression on his face remained completely blank and in surprise Creed sat up and watched his Pokemons extreme strength at work.

"Hey buddy," Creed said to his Pokemon who turned his head to his trainer and stood back on his two feet. "You can relax you know? You can train whenever you want, why don't we play a game eh? Ever heard of a little game called poker?" Machop tilted his head and sat down in front of his trainer.

"Thata boy! Alright here's the rules, pairs beat singles, triples beat pairs, full house beats triples, a straight which is five cards going in acending order beats that, a flush which is five cards of the same suit beats that, four of a kind beats that and a straight flush which is 5 cards of the same suit going in ascending order beats pretty much everything... Got it memorized?" Creed stood smiling but his Pokemon was completely confused, he nodded with a confident expression and a small drip of sweat dripped down his forehead.

Creed shuffled the deck and dealt Machop and himself five cards. He picked up his cards and smiled at his luck, four of a kind on his first turn. His less confident Pokemon frowned and placed down his cards, a straight flush on his first try ever. Creeds smile dropped into a frown and he looked down at the cards.

"This can't be right...." He looked the cards over but the suddenly out of no where a small brown raccoon Pokemon jumped forward and snatched up a couple of Creeds cards and dashed off through the grass.

"HEY WAIT! Get him Machop now!" Machop immediately dashed into the grass and a cry came out. The small raccoon came flying through the sky and landed on its feet in front of Creed. Machop dashed back from the tall grass and looked down on the Pokemon. Creed pulled out his dex.

Zigzagoon
It walks in zigzag fashion. It is good at finding items in the grass and even in the ground.

Zigzagoon jumped forward and let out a full body tackle into Machops chest sending him tumbling back unto his back. Machop jumped back to his feet and got into fighting stance.

"Machop use your Low kick now!" Creed yelled and Machop flew forward foot outstrecthed and aimed at Zigzagoons head but just before he connected Zigzagoon growled aloud and Machop faltered before striking. The attack did much less damage as an effect and Zigzagoon once again tackled Machop with all of its strength sending him some distance from where the attack connected.

"Machop now! Use your Focus energy and then Low kick." Machop nodded and his body once again glew with the orange aura it was while he was training a short time ago. He ran at full speed almost a blur and launched a kick slamming between Zizagoons eyes. Zigzagoon spun back and fell limp into the grass.

"These," Creed said reaching for his cards. "Are mine!" He snatched them from the raccoon Pokemons mouth and with his trusted companion at his side began trekking closer and closer to the end of the route.

((OOC: I think you said that Treeko has Pound and Growl, but everytime I try to load it to see, it freezes. So if it's leer and not Growl, please correct me and I'll substitute.))

Irene trudged through the tall grass, Sonny was perched on her shoulder like a lookout. A small flock of Pidgey flew by overhead, but they were so far away that Irene didn't even give a second thought to trying to catch one. She wanted to be able to see where she was going better, but the grass was so high that even when she jumped there was a good 4 or 5 feet from the top of the grass. Irene sighed and gave up. She began to walk again, and the shorter grass rubbed agaist her legs, making them itch like crazy. She bent down to scratch her red and irritated legs.

"Why did I change into shorts? Why didn't I just leave my jeans on?" Irene mumbled to herself as she began to walk again. She had stopped to change into her shorts before she left the last town, and she was now regretting it terribly. Suddenly, through her sour thoughts, Irene heard a soft rustling in the tall grass behind her. She looked, and there was nothing there. She shrugged and continued walking, her eyes still watching behind her for what ever made the noise. After a few feet, she turned her head back to look where she was going, and she came face-to-face with a wild Stantler. She gasped in surprise.

"Whoa. . ." she yelled as she fell backwards, Sonny hanging on for dear life. She whipped out her Pokedex and pointed the sensor at the Pokemon.

Stantler, the Big Horn Pokemon. Stantler can distort reality and create illusions with it's antlers. The Pokedex told her in it's mechanical tone.

Irene looked at the Stantler, and it stared right back. "Well, it'd probably be safer to travel with more than one Pokemon." she mumbled to herself. "Sonny! Help me catch that Stantler!" she commanded her Treeko, which immediately got into it's fighting stance. The Stantler did the same, a wild glint in it's eye.

"Sonny, use Pound!" Irene commanded, determined. The Treeko ran at the Stantler and jumped into the air. As it fell, it landed a hard whack with it's front paw, right on the head. The Stantler wheezed and looked a bit dazed, not prepared for such a good, hard attack from such a little Pokemon. It quickly regained it's balance and stared down the young Treeko, using Leer. There was a bright glint in it's eye that tipped Irene off.

"That's Leer, Sonny! Don't let your guard down! Use Growl!" Irene shouted. Sonny nodded again and used his attack.

"Tree! Treeko!" he shouted at the Stantler, making itself seem like a poor, defense-less young Pokemon so the Stantler's attacks would hurt him a bit less. The Stantler looked a bit less hostile now, but still charged forward in the attack Tackle.

"Wait for it Sonny, waait for it. . . " she said quieter. Sonny held his ground, waiting for the reight moment to attack, and Irene's command. "Ok, NOW! Use Pound on it's underbelly!" Irene yowled as the Stantler was almost on top of the Treeko, almost hitting it.

Sonny dived underneath the Stantler, confusing it. It jumped up and smacked the underbelly of the STantler as hard as it could, the impact making the Stantler fall to the ground. Sonny slipped out from underneath the Pokemon before it squished him, and waited for Irene's next command.

"Again! On it's sides!" she said. And Sonny hit twice on both of the Stantler's sides. It groaned in exhaustion, but then it lept up, and tackled Sonny right when it was going for it's head.

"Treee!" Sonny wailed as he flew across the small clearing. But he quickly stood up, brushed off, and shook off the pain. Irene saw that the Stantler was very tired already, and the power of Sonny was getting to it.

"Sonny! One last time! Pound!" Irene yelled, knowing she had already almost won.

Sonny lept up the way he had the first time, and came down with a bang on the Stantler's head again.

"Stant!" it groaned, falling to the ground, wheezing in exhaustion. It wa sdefeated.

"Enough, Sonny! Great! Now, gooo Pokeball!" Irene commended as she threw a Pokeball at the exhausted Stantler. It disappeared in a flash of light. The Pokeball began to shake.

"Come on. Come ON!" Irene murmured to herself.

To Be Continued! . . .

OOC: K, thanks. And sorry, it kept on freezing, and re-setting and freezing and resetting, and. . .you get the point.

The Pokeball finally stopped shaking after a few mind-numbing moments. Irene stared at it for a minute, then jumped up in glee.

"Yess! I caught, a Stantler!" she cried, Sonny jumping up with her. "Come on on, Stantler." she said, tossing her new Stantler's Pokeball into the air. The Stantler looked around, confused, then focased on Irene.

"Hiya! Im Irene. Ill be your new trainer!" Irene announced, patting Stantler's head. "You need a nickname. . ." she mused, looking at him up and down. "How about Loka?"

Loka nodded and stamped his foot. Irene smiled and patted his head again. "Ok, Loka. Lets continue. Return." she said, holding up his Pokeball, Loka disappeared into it with a snort.

The duo, and their new friend continued down the foot path, still covered by grass.

TO BE CONTINUED!

**Sorry, it's a bit short. Writer's block.

OOC: Short, but you get the point.

Century kept on walking through the grass, looking for the first turn on the path to his left, as the boy directed him after their pokemon battle.

"I wonder if we're ever going to make it there.." He wonders out loud to himself, as he sees a break in the bushes coming up to his left. Century smiles and takes the left turn as he reaches the corner, and sees nothing but grass in front of him.

"That kid misled me!" He scowls, staring down the grass in front of him. "Might as well see what is up ahead since I'm lost anyway." He mutters, before beginning to push through the grass, and seeing a city in front of him.

"Wait.." Century thinks to himself before pulling out his pokedex from his breast pocket and bringing up the map function..

"I've made it to Tin City!" He say
s victoriously, as he stands on the hill that looks down on the city proudly.
