The Argent Tournement

Not my best sign up, so I apologize. But it's decent. At least Id like to think so.

Name: Matthew Tyrell
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Class: Joker
Appearance
->Physical: Matthew is of average height for his age, standing at around 5'8, but he appears to be slightly taller to his thin build. Only weighing about 135 pounds, Matthew lacks significant muscle development but he proves he is still athletic with the occasional impressive feat. He has normal proportions, excusing the fact his limbs are above average in length.

Matthew's facial features are rather unremarkable at best. While his face lacks any distinct impurities, it leaves his lightly tanned skin bare of any character. Matthew appears youthful due to his expression always beaming with positive energy. Rarely having a frown on his face, he allows his expressive blue eyes to do a lot of his talking (despite being a loud mouth himself). If anything provides character, its Matthew's hair. For the past few years, Matthew has allowed his dark blonde/light brown hair to grow to a great length but has found enough time in his days to develop a bold style. Keeping the sides and back at a tame length (above the ears and barely grazing the neck), the top of his head contains the bulk of his hair. However, he has the hair styled to have to a wild, spiked appearance almost as if he wants to appear insane.

->Clothing: Matthew wears solid blue t-shirt with an utter lack of design and a gray pair of jeans that while being a loose fit, are slightly tighter than they should be eliminating the need for an unsightly belt. Most notably his once white shoes are incredibly filthy and have since become an undesirable color. In terms of noticeable additions, Matthew has a sliver chain necklace and a sliver hoop earring in his left ear. He also has a pair of sport sunglasses he frequently carries with him as well as a trusty small black backpack to carry his personal belongings.

Personality: Matthew is the living, breathing definition of energetic. Matthew enjoys doing virtually anything and does everything with enthusiasm. Matthew strongly dislikes being bored and as such will go through hell in order to find some entertainment in order to keep his mind busy. Being an optimist, Matthew approaches everything with his eyes wide open, believing that good things can and will happen. To this end, he can be naive and somewhat foolish as he isn't very realistic. This is not to suggest Matthew is unintelligent as he has enough common sense to function, but rather not fully aware of reality. He can oblivious as result, but also remains quite innocent.

Matthew does his best to negate negativity, and any time he sees negative energy gather he will break the tension. Usually in these situations, Matthew will tell jokes, change the subject, or simply provide some entertainment. As such, Matthew brings lots of energy to his interactions with others. He enjoys conversations and meeting new people. His relative popularity in his hometown provides proof of this.

Matthew is humble and good-natured, though he can rude and disrespectful to others (though it is more in a playful manner than anything else). He is also notably immature for his age, as if he chose not to grow up along with his peers. As a result, Matthew fools around more than he should and frequently does it in times that do not call for comedy relief.

One of his most defining traits is Matthew's incredible luck, as he seems to get exactly what he needs when he needs it.

History: Matthew was born in Viridian City, Kanto to a loving mother and father. However, early in his life his parents decided to get a divorce due to personal reasons. His parents spilt custody and moved as far from each other, making Matthew's life horribly inconvenient. Forcing himself to look on the brighter side of things, Matthew saw opportunity. He could see new places, meet new people, and do new things.

Due to his parents erratic professions (both worked for large business corporations), they moved frequently and whoever Matthew lived with dragged him along for the ride. In order to avoid steeping into depression, Matthew engaged in numerous activities outside of the home. He made friends, got involved in the Pokemon craze at an early age, and rarely stayed home. While his relationship with his parents became strained, Matthew thrived on relationships outside of his familial network. Even if he was in city for only a few weeks, Matthew created a network.

In their attempt to reestablish some connection with the now detached Matthew, his parents gave Matthew a jump start into Pokemon as a means of bonding together. His father helped him catch his first Pokemon, Riolu, while his mother helped him acquire Pikachu and Mudkip. These bonding lessons created a newfound relationship amongst the family, and surprisingly bought them back together as a family. Now reunited, the Tyrell family moved to Vencrown City. Matthew then decided to try his luck in the Argent Tournament. Knowing his luck, he'll probably be successful. I mean after all, he brought his family together through a random and convinent turn of events.

->Species: Riolu
Nickname: Ri (Rye)
Gender: Male
Personality: Ri in many ways resembles Matthew in terms of the fundamentals of their personality. Ri is fairly energetic, but actually gets tired over time unlike Matthew who seems to never slow down. Ri is very curious and enjoys exploring. Ri is noticeably affectionate and a bit of a softie, but is extremely loyal and protects Matthew like a zealot. Even though he dislikes Matthew's habit of doing pranks, he still admires him.
HIstory: Ri was caught when Matthew was about 14 when his father lived in Sinnoh. Since then, Ri became the closest thing that Matthew had to a partner. They have become best friends due to the 3 years they spent together. Ri's original name was "Blu" but eventually Matthew realized the name sounded foolish so he changed to his favorite type of bread, which happened to be similar to the first part of his name. Original….

->Species: Pikachu
Nickname: Ray
Gender: Male
Personality: Ray is the most troublesome and aggressive member of Matthew's team. He loves pulling pranks, being unnecessarily violent and an all around pain. Ray, much like Ri, is loyal to Matthew to the point of not listening to anyone but Matthew. Ray is the most independent member of the group and the most vocal. Despite Ri being the first member of the team, Ray is the unofficial the leader.
History: Ray was caught shortly before Matthew turned 15, as means of Matthew's mother bonding with him. Ray was incredibly difficult to tame, but it became an exercise of patience and responsibility. However in due time, Matthew won the war and Ray began to follow Matthew.

->Species: Mudkip
Nickname: MUDKIPZ or Kipz for short
Gender: Female
Personality: Kipz is mellow and calm one in the group. Indifferent, aloof, and distant, Kipz prefers to keep herself out of the affairs of Matthew's various misadventures. While she doesn't hate Matthew and the others, she prefers to not be involved. Probably because she is the most rational and least vocal of the team.
History: Kipz was the last to be obtained, during an adventure in Hoenn as Matthew's mother helped Matthew obtain a trainer license on his 16th birthday. Kipz immediately became the most distant member of the team. However Ray and Ri's charm helped Kipz mesh with the group. Eventually she opened up and but still remains aloof most of the time to Matthew's desire for excitement.

Character

>Name: Mia Lyra
>Gender: female
>Age: 23
>Appearance: Mia is a tall individual. Her body stands up straight with an upright back and long arms. She can be very intimidating to those that are shorter then her. Her legs flow evenly with her body, dragging straight down. Her small feet don't compensate for her tall body, giving her somewhat of an unbalanced feature. She tends to trip a lot because of this issue, but she gets used to it. She is relatively skinny, but her weight makes up for her tallness.

Her deep black flowing hair goes down a tad lower then her shoulders, in a curly updo most of the time. Her widow's peak merges high into her face, giving her facial structure more detail. The hair curls more as it reaches its tips, and while she takes a long time to do her hair, most of her friends say its worth it.

Her face is thin and relatively medium-sized. She has a long jaw, it sinks deep into her chin where the curves line up evenly with her small lips. Her upper lip is a bit thicker then most average people; but she likes it. Her nose merges with the median of her mouth and it curves in well; with a almost flawlessly straight bridge. The nose merges in between her dark green eyes. Any gaze with her large, green eyes is sure to captivate any willing individual. But often a large pair of dark sunglasses obscures the deep dark eyes.

During her years in high school, she was often defined as 'popular' and has been an icon throughout the world, mainly because of her parents being stars, but also because of her beauty. She has been offered many modeling positions because of this, but always declines because she does not like degrading herself by others telling her what to do all of the time.

-Physical:
-Clothing: Mia often wears athletic wear because it works well on her lengthy body. Her signature outfit she often wears in non-formal situations are a long brown and white striped athletic outfit; which cover most of her body. She carries a pair of dark, large sunglasses that obscure the beautiful foliage in her eyes. When she is in a formal environment, she possesses a black half-dress; with a brown "vine" pattern lining up all of the corners of it. Another dress, a dark red corset and a maroon skirt; that goes down to about her knees stands out from her figure. The corset drags along her arms up until her elbows; where it cuts off in a twirly puff-like object. Most of the time, she is wearing her pair of sunglasses. She likes to hide herself, and prefers to confront others other then having them confront her. Her shiny skin, she tries to show off by showing of her legs or her arms; but does not degrade herself by going too small.

>Personality: She does not appreciate sarcasm or innapropriate jokes. She enjoys talking to others, but does not take much interest in those less sophisticated then her. Mia will attempt to make friends and connections; but when she realizes they aren't the sort of people she does not take much thought into she abandons them and only converses with them if required. She is very stubborn to those that betray her or are rude to her. While most of the time she wears a dark pair of sunglasses, It is hard to tell her expression because she rarely smiles. She appreciates sophistication in humor and conversations. She will talk to those that are not as fancy as her; but does not take much interest into those that are immature or innapropriate.

>History: Mia was born into a rich family, in Olivine City. Her mother and father were famous actresses, the renowned Brian Lyra and Desiree Lyra. Her parents insisted that when she grew up she would carry on the tradition of the artistic talent of her family; but she realized that it wasnt the life for her. At age 2, she was placed in a specialized educational program that was built for future artistic talent individuals; but she did not excel. She did not take much pride or effort into the work and her parents eventually decided to give up and put her in a regular school at age 6. At age 7, she had began singing and although it wasn't exactly what her parents wanted, she was fine with it. When she was 8, Desiree caught lung cancer from excessive smoking; but managed to break through it.

Desiree caught cancer again, and seemed to have it on-off for the next 10 years. The chemotherapy was working potentially but all of the invested money the Lyra family put into the hospital did not go to her cause. When she was 9, Mia began playing a Harp that was in her nanny's room. Her nanny recalled;

"I had came over one day; and I heard echoes throughout the mansion. I traced them back to my room; and noticed Mia was strumming the Harp. It was a soothing, quiant flow of sound and I watched her as she played for me."

She mastered the art of the harp at age 12. At age 13; her father had gotten parylzed from a set accident on the latest film, "Tiger" and slowly his acting career began to also parylze to a halt. He was known for action films and couldn't do that as much while in a wheelchair all the time. At age 15, she began to take interest in Pokemon. Before, she had thought of them of useless creatures. She began to read books and learn about the Pokemon League, the Pokedex, and more. Her father had caught on her reading these and decided it would be good to get her a companion. He went by Dr. Bannon's laboratory and told him; and bought a Misdreavus. She became connected, and eventually received her own Pokedex. Thus, the saga continues!

Pokémon

(3 Pokémon, all un-evolved, albeit The Leader/Loner, who is allowed one evolved)

>Species: Misdreavus.
>Nickname: Anikka
>Gender: Female.
>Personality: Anikka is independent. Being born in a lab, she was improved to be better in battles. She is very vengeful and will take action on those that attack or cause her teammates to faint. Anikka will react accordingly to other human beings, and will protect Mia at all costs; like a Gardevoir. A very mature pokemon, indeed.
>History: It was given to her by her father who bought it at Dr. Bannon's lab.

>Species: Absol.
>Nickname: Abaline
>Gender: Female.
>Personality: Abaline is younger then Anikka, therefore she is much less mature. She is very dependent on Mia, and acts as her "dog" or "affectionate cat." Anikka and Abaline get along well, and Anikka teaches her about things as they go along. Abaline can be very serious in battles, however.
>History: She caught Abaline during a family trip to Lilycove City in Hoenn. She had received a master ball from her father to catch whatever she pleased.

>Species: Mawile
>Nickname: Dajule (Dah-joo-lay)
>Gender: Male
>Personality: Dajule is a mature Pokemon. It is the elder of the group, older then Anikka and Abaline. He is very wise, and smart. He enjoys silence, and will sleep whenever he can. He does love his teamates Anikka and Abaline; but prefers to be independently taken care of by Mia. Mia is very attached to Dajule.
>History: Dajule appeared as an omen. She was in the middle of a cave during a Mawile migration. She noticed Dajule sleeping in a corner while the rest were migrating, and she went over there and picked it up. It woke up, and mysteriously it did not scratch or bite its way out. It just sat there and fell back asleep. She took it as it wanting to ber her owner.

The Fighter

>Name: Iris Raine
>Gender: Female
>Age: 21
>Appearance:
-Physical: Iris stands at an imposing five feet, ten inches tall and though her body is lithe, giving her a weight of 135 lbs, her muscles are finely toned. And in that, she knows of her ability and thus carries herself with a confident, often overpowering air. That makes itself known in her posture, as well as her face, which seems to be carved from marble, so cold and hard it is. However, in that, her features are rather striking, and her long black hair contrasts sharply with her pale skin. Her eyes are a brilliant blue, a trait passed down from her mother, and never seem to stay looking in one place for too long.

Despite her pale skin, her body shows its signs of struggle throughout her life, and her knuckles, if you could see them beneath the gloves she wears, are scarred in many places. Thankfully, her nose has never been broken, so it escapes any signs of injury, but other parts of her aren't so lucky. Whenever she's winded, especially from running, she walks with a bit of a limp on her right leg, which has been broken twice in her lifetime, in the same place.

-Clothing: Despite her rather 'rough and tumble' appearance and outlook on life, Iris has a rather feminine attire. She wears a dark blue ribbon about her neck, another present from her mother, which she uses to tie back her hair if ever she gets into a fight. Below that, from her shoulders down to her knees is a simple black sundress, which covers the majority of her body, while providing her with a fair range of movement. Her arms, just above the elbow down to her fingertips, are covered with a pair of leather gloves, long since dyed a soft blue color. A pair of boots that come to just below her knees are made of the same material, leaving only her knees and biceps, as well as the collarbone area of her chest uncovered.

>Personality: As was mentioned briefly before, Iris has something of a confident air about her, which both stems from and feeds into her personality, which holds much of that same style. Because of this, Iris can be a bit hard to approach to those that don't know her well, as she commands a sort of presence about her that shoves away those who are timid. That isn't to say that she wouldn't ever be friends with such types of people, but her forceful personality just tends to drive them away.
This is the side of her personality that is mostly seen by others, due to how often she finds herself in pokemon battles. As soon as one starts, the confident smirk crosses her face, and it doesn't take her long to start ridiculing her opponents, poking fun at their style of combat and how they treat their pokemon like friends, rather than allies, as is the common case.

Yet a strange transformation overcomes her once the fight is over, and even for those who know her well, the change is startling as she loses much of the countenance that makes her appear rugged and hard-headed, adopting one that's a lot more laid back. While she still sports the forward parts of her personality, she's not longer competitive and isn't down on those around her. She becomes open and rather fun-loving, though she still views pokemon more as allies than she does close friends, and doesn't keep any of them outside of their pokeball unless they're battling.

>History: Iris was born to a family bred for pokemon, it seemed. Her mother was a trainer in the Ice gym in the cold and dreary Snowpoint City, specializing in the frosty types, while her father was one of the journeying trainers, though his specialization fell more into the Fighting and Dark types of pokemon. The man's journey ended shortly after making it to Snowpoint, as his attention had been caught by the female Ice trainer.

A year or so passed of the two living together in the blustery, wintry land of Sinnoh before news spread that the woman was pregnant with child. Celebration ensued throughout the Gym, and it wasn't long before the trainers in the gym began to put aside time to find a pokemon that would suit the child. However, in considering the child's father's preference, as well as the mother's, it wasn't too long until they decided upon the Sneasel as the choice for the future baby.

Iris was then born into the family of trainers, and even before she had turned one, she was introduced to the baby Sneasel, who she began to call 'Mr. Frosty' when she was old enough to speak and understand the combination of words. As she grew older and learned more about pokemon, as well as became a bit more mature, she shortened the Sneasel's name to just 'Frosty' and began to train it, under her parents' tutelage.

At nine, Iris attended a Youth Tournament in the nearby Eterna City, accompanied by her father. Though she did not win, she did place in the top four, and received a Ralts as a prize. Her father, due to his preference, didn't much care for the creature though he let Iris keep it, who promptly named him Helmet, and though she doesn't often train the little guy, his psychic abilities have helped Iris more than once before.

The tournament also added to her love of battles, and that has since only caused her to grow more proficient in them. However, much like her father, she doesn't really rely much on tact in her battles, and even now she focuses primarily on the most efficient way to put down her opponent. At fourteen, she managed to hook a Poliwag while fishing for Magikarp for dinner, and Swirls became her next ally.

Throughout her next seven years, she became a journeying trainer, but never moved much outside of Sinnoh, raising her three pokemon from time to time, but mostly just living each day, day to day.
However, being quick to anger like her father, Iris got into a lot of non-pokemon fights, though the physique she inherited, along with the anger, allowed her to beat down, or at least put up a decent fight against whomever was the aggressor.

When she heard about the Argent Tournament, she felt ready to finally compete this year, and so took her three pokemon to Khyro, looking to sign up and register for the tournament.

Pokémon

>Species: Sneasel
>Nickname: Frost (Originally Mr. Frosty)
>Gender: Male
>Appearance: Looks the same as other Sneasel, but the gem in its forehead seems to be absent.
>Personality: Despite the fact that Iris treats her companions more like battle allies and fellow soldiers than she does as friends, Frost is fiercely protective of his trainer. It's more because of the Sneasel's protective nature than because of Iris' skill that her parents don't mind her traveling across the globe. In regards to the other pokemon, Frost sees himself as superior, being bred for battle, seeing himself as a 'pedigree' of sorts.
In battle he is swift and fierce, using his speed and manipulation of ice to slow his enemies before tearing them to pieces.
>History: Frost was actually bred specifically for Iris by the trainers in the Gym in Snowpoint. While it's not exactly certain what traits were bred into him, the result is a pokemon who is skilled in many regards, and has no problem tearing apart his enemies. He's been with Iris since the day he hatched and as such, feels a particular bond for her. If she feels the same for him, however, it is well-hidden.

>Species: Ralts
>Nickname: Helmet
>Gender: Male
>Appearance: Looks more masculine and a bit larger than a regular Ralts
>Personality: Unlike a lot of Ralts, Helmet is actually quite forward and animated, striking up conversations with random Pokemon without a second thought. Many believe this is due to the Ralts feeding off of the confident emotion that Iris constantly exudes, and coming to adopt it as its own. But Helmet doesn't seem to mind what others think of him, and sometimes even goes out of his way to make himself appear less normal.
With Iris, Helmet treats her more as an older sister than a trainer. He'll follow her orders in battle, but outside he enjoys playing pranks, seeing just how irritated he can get her before her breaking point.
>History: The Ralts was a pokemon held by Professor Rowan, along with three others that were to be given to the four top placers in the Youth Tournament in Sinnoh. Being that Iris placed fourth, she was given a male Ralts, which were quite a bit more rare than the female counterpart. While she didn't get the fancier prizes, the first place being a golden Poochyena, she was happy with getting Helmet, naming him such after the helmet-like head that sits atop the Ralts' slender body.


>Species: Poliwag
>Nickname: Swirls
>Gender: Female
>Appearance: Its swirl goes clockwise; looks like a regular Poliwag
>Personality: Poliwag is the least intelligent out of the three, and seems to favor running headlong into her opponents rather than pelting them with its trademark Bubble attack. Not necessarily a brute, the Poliwag knows some tact, but prefers to get her feet and tail dirty with physical combat and labor. Despite the training she received, she hasn't yet evolved into Poliwhirl, but Iris is fairly certain that it will happen soon…or so she hopes.
Around other pokemon, Swirls is a bit lazy, letting Helmet and Frost do a lot of the work. Mainly, its due to the fact that she doesn't have any arms with which to help…but she is a bit lazy.
>History: Iris was out fishing one day for Magikarp for dinner, when her line was suddenly pulled by something a little more intense than the usual Magikarp. The girl instantly got to her feet, pulling on the rod and reeling it in, not giving any slack to the pokemon on the other end, when suddenly, the Poliwag leapt from the water, slapping its tail right across her face.
Frost sensed the battle, and leapt from his pokeball, pinning the creature down and giving a thrashing to it. By this time, Iris had fished a Net Ball from her duffel bag and used it, promptly catching the water type. Without a reason not to, Iris kept the Poliwag and Swirls became a permanent member of the team.
 
Thanks for the complimants guys. I had hit a kind of writing block in the middle of it, so most of it was squeezed out and I was really worried. I don't know, it just felt forced rather than something that came to me. At least I already had the outline for the character in my head when I wrote the SU.

Im not to worried about the deepness and meaning this intense quote portrays. Though it may change if I come up with something better.

That wasn't quite as random as it sounds, as Eeveelution's quote reminded me of it... Anway, onto everyone's SU's, which I'll keep short and sweet.

@Raikiri - Accepted - Glad to see your SU up, I just have one thing to say. I see you likez Mudkipz.

@Project. - Accepted - Any slower and I may of had to reconsider, due to too many RPG'rs. But your SU is great, so I couldn't refuse. As for your characters class? *Shrug*, I guess it doesn't matter.

@Kularian - Accepted - Same as my response to Raikiri. I see you likez Mudkipz Ralts.

Anyway, I think that seven RPG'rs is enough. If you were mid-way through an SU, sorry, but too many RPG'rs means that the likelyhood of someone leaving is increased, thus destroying the RPG. SU's are now -officially- closed, and we will begin the RPG soon. It'll probably begin, erm... Thursday/Friday. And I hope you all enjoy the 'Argent Tournament' RPG.

What's wrong with using someone else's quotes? Everyone does it!

THE ARGENT TOURNAMENT RPG

The Argent Tournament

Hundreds of miles west of Vencrown City, two lonely silhouettes were walking slowly in the sand, protecting their eyes with their hands from the strong winds that were viciously striking their faces. The first one was a boy. The other one was his Pokemon. The boy stopped and raised his head, looking at the dark clouds on the sky. Thunders cracked the sky. But it wasn't raining. His Pokemon stopped too, and touched her trainer's leg with its paw. The boy looked at it, and hugged it.
"Jolteon.. we're lost. I doubt there is any living being in a range of fifty miles.."
The spiky Pokemon stared at her trainer. She thought they've been through so much together, there's no way this was the end.
Ray heard a cry from his backpack. He opened it, and his other Pokemon, Cyndaquil, climbed up to his shoulder and started crying loudly.
"Calm down little guy. We'll be alright."
The boy continued walking with Cyndaquil on his shoulder and Jolteon on his right.

After two hours, they reached a small mountain. It was perfect to see if there was anything in that cursed desert. A thunder lighted up the dark clouds. Cyndaquil let out a howl.
Ray gazed upon the horizon, where the dark sky was one with the sands. There was nothing beyond the mountain, all the eye could see was sand. Not even a Pokemon.
The trainer freaked out when he saw the view. Then he looked down, at the foot of the mountain.
He couldn't believe it - there was a town down there. He thought it was merely an illusion. Jolteon poked him with her paw and nodded.
He ran down from where he came, and went around the mountain. There was a sign there.
"Westfall?" mumbled. He stared at the small town. The buildings had a filthy, pale gray colour, and they seemed very old. Some people were sitting on the square of the town.
Someone from the town saw Ray and approached him. It was a 17 years old girl. She looked at him with curiousity.
"Yo, stranger. Welcome to Westfall. What were you thinking, going in the Land of Thundering Desert without a vehicle? Or at least goggle glasses?"
"It's a long story. You know where I could find some food? I'm starving."
The girl took him in her house, and after a delicious meal, he asked her if there was any way of going to Vencrown City. She told him her father was running a Desert Vehicle store and that she could ask him to lend him one.
So, they went to the store, which had some small jeeps.
"They're very easy to ride. You could drive them too, even though you're only 15!"
Ray was bothered by the comment, but it wasn't the right time to show it.
"Whatever, I just need to get there."
 
Argent Tournament
Roland's view #1 – First steps

"Well, Quay. What do you think?"

"Nat …" The tiny-bird Pokémon hummed as it lifted one talon.

Roland fixed his glasses slightly. They had a tendency to slip down his nose occasionally, and now was just one of those times.

"I'm gunna win!" yelled a voice from behind as a young boy rushed past Thale.

He was just one of the many entrants for the world famous Argent Tournament. But then again, so was Roland. He continued down the flooded streets of Vencrown, which were even more populous now the tournament was being held here. He pushed through the crowds, which seemed to become thicker as he moved. Surprisingly, Roland was here early. He'd hate to see what kind of mob many of the other entrants would have to plough through to reach Millennia Stadium. There was no way he was going to swim his way through this kind of crowd, but then Roland had a brilliant idea (If he did say so himself)

"East, let's go" Roland muttered, as he tapped the button on the Pokéball.

This caused it to erupt in a flurry of scarlet light, and followed by many civilians moving out of the way. The light soon formed into a new shape, one that faintly resembled a head. Its huge red nose protruded its main body like a mountain, and two rocks floated beside it, resembling arms.

"Nose- Pass!" the Rock-Type yelled.

The creatures bellow explained everything to the other trainers, as the Pokémon Roland referred to as 'East' began to hover forward, breaking the crowd apart. Roland could tell the others weren't looking for a fight, but neither was Roland. He just wanted to get to the stadium, which seemed as if it was going to happen.

Roland as his Nosepass continued forward for around half an hour. It was usually a shorter trip, but East could only part the crowds so fast. But soon enough, the two made their way to the entrance of Millennia stadium. Roland tapped East with the Pokéball, causing the Rock-type to return to his home. He had barely taken three steps into the lobby – which was swarmed with trainers – before a woman holding a clip-board burst in front of him.

"Name please" she asked, seemingly over enthusiastic.

Roland's mind went blank for a second, just like anyone would if they were put on the spot.

"R-Roland Edward Thale…" he muttered.

The woman scanned the clipboard for less than a second, and then looked back up at him.

"Yes, I see. You're one of the contestants?"

Roland nodded a reply, and was then given a look of agreement by the woman.

"Please come this way" she said with calm air.

She began to walk off quite seriously towards pain-glass door, which slid open as she moved near it. Roland followed, just catching a glimpse of a plaque on the door reading 'Waiting lobby B2'. Roland wandered inside, scanning the room. Not much here, other than a glass coffee table and many arm chairs surrounding it, about six or seven.

"You're the first here. You may have to wait a while for your other team-members to arrive" she continued, as she simply left, leaving Roland in the brightly lit waiting room.

He had almost forgotten. He wouldn't be entering this tournament alone, but with others as his allies. Roland slumped himself down on one of the many arm-chairs. The one furthest away from the door, and next to a window, which showed the crowd that Roland had barged through earlier.

"Nat" squawked the Psychic/flying type as it opped off his shoulder, and onto the arm-rest.

'Now' Roland thought, 'we wait…'
 
Yay! It's started!

I closed my map as I took my last steps out of Runic Forest and into Vencrown City. "So, we're finally at the famous Vencrown City, home of the Argent Tournament." I said as I gazed upon the city. "Quil" Came the reply of Cinder. "Well, we better head for Millennia Stadium." I began walking again, Cinder beside me. When I got to the streets heading to Millennia Stadium, I stopped. People, a lot of them. It was bad enough on normal days, but with being in Vencron and the tournament, it was flooded. "Cinder, let's pick up the pace." I pulled up my hood and began speed walking through the crowd.

At least I was good at manuvering through crowds, or it would have taken forever to get to Millennia Stadium. I stepped through the entrance and a lady with a clipboard popped up.
"Name please."
Oh god, I have to talk. "Kris Collins."
"Hmm" She began skimming the list on her clipboard. "Oh yes, come right this way."
She began leading me down a hallway. Oh, great. The worst part about the tournament. Teams. She opened a door and I walked in. There was a boy sitting at a table. "...hi..." I muttered as I sat down and let my other pokemon out of their pokeballs.
 
Argent Tournament; Post 1

Mia looked out at the ocean. It was peaceful. The waves crashing upon the golden sand, the occasional times when the water reaches up to your ankles. For Mia, this was a second heaven. During her child years, she had come here many times to get away from the hype of life. Pokemon roamed these seas, she knew. Sometimes, but rarely, some would pop out of the water. Most of the time, it was a Magikarp. But the beauty of life was all she valued. Dajule was sitting by her side; jaws closed and eyes open. Even though he was somewhat elderly, he still enjoyed the things that Mia loved to do.

She dug her hands into the sand; and pushed herself up. She slipped on her pair of sunglasses. The sunset upon the clouds was beginning to fade. She had to get to Vencrown soon. But without a way to get there, it will be difficult, considering the extreme conditions lands had behind it. She heard of Runic Forest where the trees just seemed to dwindle, and meander in random ways that was nearly impossible for a human to navigate. She pulled two Pokeballs from her striped pant's pockets; and dropped them down gracefully. Anikka and Abaline starred theirselves out, and was quiet. Even in being in those miniscule orbs for a while, they could still hear and sense what was going on outside. They walked inland, where the beaches turned to sand turns that turned into fields. Soon enough, she was navigating the Anemos Plains. The tall prarie grasses held high above her, but seemed as it was just for her, a dirt path showed the way to Vencrown. Abaline looked through the grass for any sign of danger, but seemed to find nothing. The sun slowly turned to night; as the full moon rose up. The stars in the field were bright. The Milky Way showed its bright bands, and the constellations formed themselves. The beauty of the stars is something to be appreciated by many. She placed her eyes on the path, and continued walking. She calculated what it would be.

If she was to continously walk, she'd be there by morning. She kept walking, hoping for something to come by. She needed a little spice in her night, and although the elegance of the sunset and the beauty of the cosmos captivated her, occasionally she needed a little action. She put her head up from her feet and looked up ahead. It was a bit hilly, but not too much. Then, she began to hear a silent rumming sound. She looked behind her, and saw two lights pointing straight at her. She went to the side. The vehicle slowly stopped beside her. It was a jeep; and it was obviously a Field Ranger. They monitored to make sure nothing disturbs the environment in the fields too much.

"Ma'am, may I ask you what you're doing here at this hour?" He asked, with a bit of an english accent.

"Yes, I'm on my way to Vencrown." Mia wasn't interested in talking to him, as she was more focused on getting to Vencrown.

"Well, I'd be willing to take you there. I'm on my way there anyway, my shift is nearly over." he told her, and gave a little smirk. Mia nodded.

"Sure, that'd be nice." she walked to the other side of the jeep and opened the door; and climbed in. She buckled herself in and took her Pokemon back in their containers.

"So, what's your business in Vencrown?" He asked, his hat tipping over.

"I'm part of a tournament. A, er, Pokemon Tournament." she replied. She seemed a bit more interested. Although he was sort of ...minorly as brilliant as she was, as she'd describe it, he did offer her what she wanted and she accepted it gratefully.

"Ah. I'm not much of a Pokemon trainer. But I do carry a Tauros. It helps me herd the other Tauros." he replied. It was silent for a while, and it all she heard was the humming of the jeep's motor. He focused his eyes on the dirt road, and soon light was slowly, appearing on the horizon. She knew that. In astronomical terms, it was light pollution, so they must be getting closer to Vencrown. She looked up. The stars were starting to disappear; the milky way losing its detail. City lights were once Galileo's enemy. Then, they reached a gate. It seemed like a border gate, as there was one from Kanto to Johto. A man, in a security uniform was standing by the gate.

"Hello, do you have any form of identification?" he asked the ranger.

"Ah yes, here's my ranger id." He lifted up the picture of himself around his neck.

"Is this your lady friend?" he asked, with a smile. Mia was shocked a bit, but didn't say anything. Just looked over.

"No, I'm just escorting her to Vencrown." he replied. Mia was glad he didn't say anything. She hated people that tried to great lengths to impress eachother.

"Alright, I'll open the gate." he shouted, as he walked toward the lever. He pulled the lever, and the metal gate slowly lifted up. The jeep ran under it, and kept on continuing through the path. The path suddenly turned into asphalt, so she knew they were close to the city. She looked behind. The gate was closing. The gate that blocks off the threat. The border that protects the city. The towers were beginning to show themselves, and as if she had just appeared there, they were there.

"Alright, where in the city is this tournament thing being hold?" he asked her, with tired eyes.

"Its in the Stadium." she smiled. The stadium was about 2 minutes from the entrance he took. He drove slowly. Other cars were being drove in this bustling city. She passed a daycare center, a school and more. Then eventually the massive stadium rose up against all the other buildings.

"Alright, here we are!" he did a gesture with his hand.

"Thank you very much. I wish I had a way to thank you." she appreciated, opening the door.

"No problem. You don't owe me anything, miss." he replied. She shut the door and walked towards the entrance. Even at midnight, competitions were being held for just about every possible reason on the planet. She walked up the receptionist.

"Hello, I'm Mia Lyra, here for the Argent Tournament." she told her. The receptionist opened a program on the computer, and typed her name in.

"Yes, you're scheduled. Most of your teammates haven't arrived yet. Please allow Jackson to lead you to the room." A man was standing in the corner with a nametag that screamed Jackson. He opened a door into a long hallway, many of the rooms Dressing rooms for famous trainers and Pokemon. They walked to the end of a hallway; and he opened a door for her. She smiled and walked in.

"Yo! Mom! Dad! I am going off to win myself a tournament! Be back for dinner!" The young man laughed, leaping to his feet and charging through the door.

"There goes our son on his own. Think he remembered everything?" the man's father stated bluntly, deeming his son forgetful.

"I packed with him. He should be fine. After all, if it wasn't for me you would forget your own head if it wasn't attached to your head," the mother replied, winking and elbowing her husband in the gut. The father blushed in response, unable to muster words to argue.

The young man's name is Matthew Tyrell and he set on winning the Argent Tournament. He didn't know much about it, outside of it being a team event. It didn't matter to him. Matthew simply wanted to try his luck in a major competition. "No, let's see. We gotta go to the stadium….which is right here……aw crap," Matthew gulped. With Millennia Stadium barely in sight, Matthew bore witness to a sea of people gathering in front of the stadium. "Man, that's a lot of people. I hope no zombies show up 'cause otherwise we are screwed," Matthew smirked. "Well I guess, I better wait in line."

Lucky for him, the line moved at a rather brisk pace and he was able to eventually sneak into the stadium. Confused, Matthew wandered the lobby for several minutes. He didn't bother to listen to the instructions and that fact bit him. Hard.

"Excuse me, sir. Do you need help?" A young woman asked, placing a gentle hand on Matthew's shoulder. Shocked, Matthew gasped and spun around with a karate chop ready to go. The woman yelped helplessly with Matthew yelled in fear. A brief staredown began, but it ended in laughter at their own stupidity.

"Sorry about that," Matthew muttered blushing. "But yeah, I registered for the tournament and I got lost. Can you help with that?"

"Sure thing. Your name please."

"Oh, Matthew Tyrell."

"Okay, Matt. Come with me and we'll find your room." Matthew followed the woman, watching as the hordes of people did the same as him. Find a tournament worker, give them their information and be escorted to their respective room. Considering the crowds, the operation ran smoothly. "Okay, I found it. Follow me. Don't want you getting lost again," the woman winked. Matthew chuckled nervously in response.

She lead him down a long hallway, with numerous other rooms likely holding the same purpose of holding trainers in order for the formal operations to start. The woman stopped suddenly. "Aaand here you are. Waiting Lobby B2. A few of your teammates are already here."

"Really?" Matthew inquired excitedly. She smiled and nodded. Following a big hug goodbye, Matthew practically knocked down the door with his bold entrance. From the doorway, Matthew's eyes shifted through the room.

"Sup, guys….and gal," Matthew began. "Let me ask one thing: Do you like Mudkipz?" he asked holding his innocent blue Pokemon smiling.
 
The girl brushed a few stray locks of ebony hair from her face, before heaving a small sigh. "I don't know that we'll ever get inside," she murmured, watching the throng of people still trying to get into the gate. The Argent Tournament was supposedly enormous, but the girl hadn't really thought that it would be quite this big. With her arms crossed under her chest and wearing a dark expression, it wasn't strange that there was a small space around her, the dark anger flitting just under her skin, liable to rip out at any moment.

There was a sudden commotion behind her, and the girl turned, seeing a large Pokemon spear-heading its way through the crowd, followed by what appeared to be a rather nerdy trainer, button-up shirt and glasses and all. She stepped back as the Nosepass continued to push its way through the crowd, and she felt her anger shoot through the roof watching him. "How frickin' rude," she growled, and had there been about a few hundred less people, she would've had no issue in grinding the kid into the dirt. But, starting a battle now would just cause everyone else to have to wait that much longer, and wasn't really worth it to her.

Angered, she slammed her fist into a nearby lamp post, causing the metal to bend slightly under the impact of her punch. This caused those nearby to give her an even wider berth, which she appreciated, given her current mood. She could feel the pokeball containing Helmet shifting slightly as he reacted to her irritation, and wondered if he wanted to be let out for a little while to vent. While she wasn't particularly fond of the idea, considering the crowd, she knew he'd be more irritable later. "Ah well. Deal with it, you Abra wannabe," she growled under her breath, though both she and Helment knew she didn't mean it; she was just pissy.

A short time later, she was finally able to get into the interior of the gates, and saw, with some degree of happiness, that the end of the line was in sight. She mentally began to review her pokemon's attacks as she walked, even knowing that she was going to get paired up with other trainers in order to truly fight in this championship. She would have preferred to go at it by herself, but that wasn't exactly in the rules of the tournament, which made it, unfortunately, impossible.

Eventually, the line dwindled down enough for her to come up to one of the receptionists, who looked at her with the eyes of someone who had been dealing with idiots the whole day. Her expression was dark, and there was more than a hint of monotony in her eyes and in her tone as she demanded, rather than asked, for her name. Iris bit her tongue, feeling another onrush of anger at the rudeness of the woman, but didn't comment, and instead swallowed the rage, before politely speaking the two words, "Iris Raine."

There was a pause as the woman looked through the list, before returning her eyes to Iris. "Room B2. Head down that hall and you can't miss it. NEXT!" she roared, and Iris shot the woman a cold glare before she headed towards where she was scheduled to wait. As she moved towards it, she saw a man with a nametag proclaiming him to be Jackson leaving a room, a girl entering just before her. Still approaching the room from the long hallway, she saw another enter the room, only causing her to grow more irritated.

"Well at least someone gets a damn escort," she hissed, before thrusting the door open and stepping inside, slamming it a tad hard behind her. Her eyes scanned those in the room before they fell upon one in particular: the brat with the Nosepass. "YOU!" she roared, taking a few steps towards him, her face contorting with anger as she reached for her belt, Frost specifically.

"Mother, but he never listens to me."

"Oswald Urs-Huppert Cecil, if you ever want Fenster to listen to you, then you need to befriend him. And that means interacting with him." Ossy, or rather, Oswald sighed, obediently saying "Yes mother." His mom smiled, saying "Lighten up. You'll get to learn so much from your team mates in the tournament." Ossy grudgingly smiled at the idea of winning the Argent Tournament; before his mother leaned down to give him a kiss on the forehead. With that, Ossy got out of the taxi, releasing his Pokémon at his mother's beckoning. With a few flashes of light, a blue plate floated above Ossy's shoulder, while an artificial computer virus chased after an analytical robot. What fun.

Ossy now faced the pulsing crowd trying to enter the Millennium Stadium. "Not even a resemblance of a crowd," Ossy said, slightly intimidated. Platte tilted its body in a semblance of a nod, while Donner tried to hide from Fenster behind Ossy. The mischievous porygon was upside down in mid air, a recorded laugh playing over and over again. "Master Sir, please restrain the harassment," Donner's recorded voice played, a prototype system the factory had added to Ossy's magnemite. That whole time, a certain bronzor was using its psychic abilities to subconsciously manipulate the crowd out of its trainer's path. That proved entirely unnecessary as a trainer pushed through the crowd with the help of a large nosepass. Ossy took the help, following in the wake of the clever trainer, a bit freaked out though when another person slightly bent a pole with an angered punch. "Was that even possible?!" Ossy wondered in incredulity.

Either way, Ossy was soon inside and assaulted by a lady with a clip board; "Hello, sir. Pant. Very nice Pokémon. Pant. Aren't porygon rather rare? Pant. Anyway, what's your name, sir? Pant. Oswald Urs-Huppert Cecil, huh? Pant. Yes here you are. I'll lead you to meet your team. Pant. GET YOUR PORYGON OUT OF MY HAIR!" Ossy blinked unsure what to do, before quickly returning Fenster. The lady then walked off, saying "You're in room B2! It's right down the hall."

Fenster popped out of its pokeball, again laughing its head off. Ossy himself had to admit that it was hilarious, but all he said was "At least try to behave Fenster." Donner and Platte each nodded their head/body in agreement, before Donner used it's magnet to open a door in front of Ossy. "Waiting room lobby B2 Sir." Walking in, Ossy self consciously adjusted his polo shirt, saying "Hello everyone, I'm Oswald Urs-Huppert Cecil." The boy was obviously nervous, but luckily Donner butted in, his automated voice announcing "As is customary in introductions, I am magnemite model AG-1452, though my trainer prefers to call me Donner, as he prefers to call himself Ossy." The magnemite continued on to say "These are my trainer's other Pokémon, Platte, and porygon model 374. My master refers to it as Fenster." Here Platte floated in to, well, float, in front of Ossy. Porygon zoomed in, and as per his trainer's commands tried not to misbehave; too much.
 
The next day, Ray was driving the jeep through the eternal sands of the desert. Or at least he tried to...
It was afternoon. If he wanted to enter the Argent Tournamet, he should hurry, you couldn't enter after midnight.
"Crap! We're gonna be late!" yelled Ray, blaming the desert.
All of his Pokemon were on the backseat, staring at the upset trainer with curiousity. Jolteon and Cyndaquil were sitting by themselves in the right, and Gible was making funny faces to the mirror of the left side of the car.

"At last! Vencrown!"
Jolteon poked Cyndaquil and Gible and together, they made a group hug. Gible didn't like it, obviously. He frowned and stepped away.
Ray looked at the clock of the car. 11:50.
"Can't this thing GO FASTER?!"
He finally reached the gates of Vencrown. He showed his Trainer ID card to the guard who was eating a sandwich and then continued his way in the city.
He looked around him. He saw nice and clean gray buildings. Apparently, he was on the good side of the city. A school was on his left, a PC center on his right, a huge PokeMart building next to the PC center. He thought he was going to buy what he needed for being an original cooltrainer. But he was going to lose the tournament and the PokeMart was closed so he just continued his way until he reached a huge gray building which had trees on both of its sides, and was symmetrical. There were no people there. This was the stadium.
He parked the car in a parallel street, knocking down a sign. Then he grabbed Gible from the back of its head, in a way that was impossible to bite him. Gible was quite angered by Ray's hold, but he couldn't do anything about it. He just opened his jaws and looked at its trainer
Cyndaquil jumped in his shoulder and curled up. Jolteon simply followed her trainer.
"Let's win this, guys." told Ray to his Pokemon. Even Gible wanted to win this. They all nodded and started running to the stadium.

"Am I too late, ma'am?"
"It's 12:01, but one minute isn't that important. Just make sure you're more responsible next time." ranted the lady that was standing in the entrance of the stadium. Ray didn't approve such comment and didn't like others to give him advice.
"I've no time for this. Okay? I've had my mom ranting for twelve years."
The lady was irritated, but so was Ray. She just frowned and looked at her list.
"Name?"
"Ray Maverick" said Ray with ease and a tone of anger in his voice.
"There's no Ray Maverick here" announced the lady and hid a smile behind her hand.
"What?!" yelled Ray. This couldn't get any worse.
"There is a Maverick.. 'Nikiphoros Maverick'"
"Well why didn't you say so? That's my second name. Lemme in." Ray was sick of this, as it was slowing him down from beating his first opponent in the tournament.
"You are the leader of the team in the room B2. You will be esco-"
Ray was gone. He was dashing through the hall and looked at his right. He instanly wondered how it is to be a leader. A1, A2... B2. No escort needed.
He opened the door and analyzed the room and whatever was in it., every detail. Jolteon showed its fangs to the trainers that were there and charged her fur with electricity. Cyndaquil hid behind his neck and Gible tried to get away from him.
"Hey." said Ray in a small tone. Whoever didn't hear him, it's their problem.
 
Argent Tournament
Roland's view #2 – Meet the contestants

Roland drummed his fingers against the arm-rest. He wasn't usually this impatient, but he was eager to start the tournament. And meet his other team mates, although that was to a lesser extent. The door swung open once more, and another person walked in. He looked ever so slightly taller than Roland himself, and had dirty blonde hair, which didn't look like it had been washed in days.

"Hi…" he muttered, and then sat himself down on one of the chairs.

He almost instantly released his Pokémon, a Quilava, a Larvitar and a Vulpix. At this, another person walked into the room. A girl this time. She simply walked in and smiled, but said nothing.

"Hey, everyone" Roland muttered, hoping to spark some kind of conversation between the contestant.

"Sup, guys… and gal"

Roland turned his head up. He hadn't even noticed the door open, but now there was another entrant in the waiting room. They were starting to build up a motley crew of contestants here.

"Let me ask you one thing: do you like Mudkipz?" the boy continued, holding a Mudkip in his arms

Roland sighed, looks like we've found the joker of the pack…

"YOU!"

Another person burst through the door, glaring violently at Roland. She grabbed a Pokéball from his belt, and looked at Roland as if this was going to turn into a firefight.

"Uh-oh…" Roland muttered.

He recognised this person. He could have sworn she was one of the many people who made up the crowd earlier (Admittedly, him and East had barged through). Natu turned from gazing out of the window, to looking directly at the girl who had screamed. Roland moved his hand slightly, signalling to stay prepared. Roland would prefer not to enter a battle, especially in such a small waiting room.

"Listen" Roland began, "I don't want any trouble…"

Roland tried to calm the person, using as many relaxing and non-threatening words as possible. At this, another person wandered into the room, and began to speak.

"Hello everyone, I'm Oswald Urs-Huppet Cecil" said the boy, who couldn't be more than eleven or twelve.

Roland could sense the worry in his voice; he could tell the boy was as nervous as hell. But what surprised Roland most was that his Pokémon was the next to speak.

"As is customary in introductions" screeched the floating magnet in the stereotypical 'Robot' voice, "I am Magnemite model AG-1452, although my trainer prefers to call me Donner, as he prefers to be called Ozzy" the Magnemite droned, but still continued to speak "These are my trainer's other Pokémon, Platte, and Porygon model 374. My master refers to it as 'Fenster'"

At this, the two other Pokémon mentioned hovered in. Roland was rather impressed. Those Pokémon were deemed very expensive, and very intelligent at that.

"Hey-"

Another voice. Roland was surprised at how many people were in the room now. The waiting room they were in looked like it could barely hold three people, let alone- Roland took a moment to count the contestants.
'I make one. That guy with the Quilava makes two. The first girl makes three. The 'Mudipz' boy makes four. The murderous psychopath and the kid make five and six, and now another had made his way here, seven in total'
 
Apparently, Ray didn't have anything interesting on him. Maybe it was just him, but him appearing went unnoticed. He sat on the bench right next to the door and started analyzing the Pokemon of his mates that were around the room. He then looked at his Pokemon. They stared him in the eyes. They were ready.
One minute of silence passed. Ray didn't want to talk to anyone right now. He just wanted to battle. The door knocked. He stood up and opened it, as he was the closest one to it. One from the receptionists entered the room.
"Everyone is here, right?" asked them with a bored expression.
Some nodded. Ray didn't.
"Alright, come with me please."

They got out of the room and followed her to the corridor outside the room to the right, they turned left to another corridor, in which there was a blue door with the symbol of the tournament: a gray PokeBall. She opened it and pointed somewhere outside.
"Go to the spot where all the contestants are in. Right now, every team member will battle with one member from another team with the same stage Pokemon as yours. Everyone has 3 Pokemon. There will be 3 battles, each one with one of your Pokemon -you can't use the Pokemon you used in the first battle again-. If you lose 2 battles, you lose the war. The receptionist turned back and started walking quickly. Before they make her answer any questions.

The team went out to the night sky. Ray felt the aura of the refreshing air on his face.
"I'm sure we won't lose this. You're all capable of battling, I know it." said Ray without looking back.

After me it seemed people just flooded into the room. First was a girl who didn't say anything, a boy with a mudkip, a very angry girl, a kid and our team leader. I was surprised when the kid's magnemite started talking. I got up and went over to it. "I-it talks." I started examining it and poking it. "Cool..."
Not long after everyone gathered, an attendant walked in and told us to follow her. She explained what was goig on and the rules we would follow. "The first round begins..." I muttered as Cinder prepared for his next battle.
 
Mia watched as few people spilled in the cool room. The atmosphere was awkward. They were expected to converse and make a team with people they've never met before. She listened to what she had to say, but she thought'd it be best to sit in the corner for the time being and watch her teammates talk for a bit, so she figure out who is worth talking to. Mia was picky like that.

The boy who had came in before her she didn't really know about. But then, a happy kid, perhaps a little too happy stormed into the room.

"Hello, guys... and gal." He said, holding his arms in front of him. "So.. do you liek mudkipz?" he asked.

Mia wanted to blow up. She knew someone less then 20 seconds and already didn't like him. Why did they allow such children? She made an angry face with her eyes, but no one could see it. Her sunglasses obscured it. She had made sure to change into her smooth black dress before coming in. Although she didn't want to look like she was trying to get attention, it was obvious she wasn't.

Many more people spilled in the room. She was getting overloaded. How would she knew if she liked any of these people? She wanted people to come in and act like her. Strong, but silent.

She studied the contestants talk. Then, another boy came in. He managed to say a minor "hey..." but at least he didn't act like he was trying to get something out of this. Mia was in this for the fun of it, the fame, and so she could get closer to her Pokemon. Not to get attention and try to be the spotlight 24/7.

She sat back in the chair for a while, until she was waken from her doze after an attendant walked in. She told her what was going to happen, and Mia was more then ready. She smirked.
