Actually that is probably how the story came around, but its just a myth that we spin to scare the tourists. Drop bears are giant bears that live up in trees and drop on your head out in the wild.
hehe, have to say I've never heard of 'Drop Bears'
speaking of myths, has anybody heard of the Yowie? (I hope I spelt it right)
lol, having gone to the USA just a few months ago, I have to say that Americans don't really know an awful lot about Australia..
For some reason, most of the people I talked with seemed to think that I came from England... I would just like to say that I don't have a British accent, thank you very much! :P
I don't recall anybody asking me if I rode a Kangaroo though, were they being serious, or were they joking?
You know what's funny, Murpheos? Out of all the commercials I've seen in the USA for the two months I spent there, there was one commercial I saw which was Australian (during the Australian oopen)
I havn't actually ran into much americans, but i just know their system is ****ed up, and australia will be just like them if johny dont get outa "the bush"
The whole American/Australian currency is a strange system, keeps going up and down. I remember before the events of September 11, the Australian dollar was very weak, less than 45 American cents, after that, it sky-rocketed.
No.... I read it off a sign. >_O
Wait a minute... some Americans think that daddy long legs are deadly? Like, OMG.
I have been reading this book... its fictional, but its about a girl who is from America who comes to Australia with her mother so they can spend Christmas with her mother's internet boyfriend... and she didn't even know what a redback spider was. It was quite amusing... she thought it was this giant thing... lol.
What other things do the Americans think of some of our Aussie things? ^^;
