yep, they seem to only have Squirrils over there... :P (I probably spelt that wrong, oh well)

hmmm....Maybe we can ask somebody who's actually from the USA? There's bound to be somebody in these forums that is...

you know.. I honestly don't think that they know all that much about Australia.. at least my cousins didn't...

It's not that Americans dont know that much, they just dont know that much about Australia. Besides, without Americans, we wouldnt have lots of stuff. I cant think think of anything right now though.

hehe.. yeah.. I was actually refering to Australia - sorry if it mislead you. I'll change the post so it dosen't sound offensive ^_^'
 
hehe.. ok.. well I was the one who said that I didn't think that Americans knew all that much.. What I meant was that I didn't think that most Americans knew alot about Australia, but Murpheos thought that I was referring to everything... as in that they didn't know all that much about anything. Does that make sense? I hope it does...

oh yeah, we wouldn't have Vegemite either without Aussies XD
 
Michael Jackson wouldn't 'dangle' his child near crocs. I think people make too big a deal about MJ and Steve Irwin here. They care about their child more than we do. If they knew their kid would be in serious danger, they wouldn't have done it. But I'm not defending them too...it's not the best thing they've both done. lol

Anyway,
Apparentlys, some Americans don't know the difference between Australia and Austria. lol Are we that "down under"? ^__^;;
 
Micheal Jackson dangling his kids near crocs, no. Micheal Jackson dangling his kids of a fifth-story balcony, yes (at least I think it was five). When Irwin did his thing with the crics, the media focused on those two incidents.

Anywayways, I'm off to bed, early start at work, have a nice weekend, y'all.

I remember on tv there was a guy asking people on the street what they knew about Australia, or something like that...

Somebody responded saying something like "I've heard it's really cold there' :D

They have different names, I remember..

They call McDonalds Miccy D's :D

and what we call Jam, they call jelly

their jelly is called Jell -O

and what we know as biscuits, they would call cookies

as for their biscuits, well, they looked alot like scones to me :P

Perhaps its because Australia and Austria are nearly spelled the same way... perhaps they get confused grammical? o__O

Ah, yes... Steve Irwin's famous dangling his baby near a croc.
I didn't understand why Americans would complain so much about it... I mean, Steve knows heaps about crocs and he would know how to control one around his child. There would be no way that he would have his child around a croc if he thought there were risks to it.

I agree with you Carina... people make too much of a fuss of Michael Jackson and Steve Irwin. -sighs-
