6th Gen The Battle Institute

    Does anyone else here think that the battle institute is fair? They made it wayyy to complicated. I mean on my 4th match in doubles i faced a Cresselia and a Regigigas. First off WTF(what the fuzzies)!?!? Seriously?? Second terrible part was they both had double team and made +2 evasion apiece... i have an Adamant 252atk ev flawless IVs mega gyarados with +2atk and +2speed dragon danced out and it cant even scratch Cresselia not to mention is spamming leftys and moonlight. My other pokemon is Conkeldurr 252atk evs flawless ivs and guts active and its trying to spam Mach Punch and still missing left to right when i finally faint Gigas, Cobalian comes out and wrecks everything. Now my question to the community does anyone think thats fair? I know the higher the score the harder it gets but why make it impossible to win? Is the full team of legends that we have to face fair?

    It depends, can you use legends yourself? If so, then try some of those, if not, then yes, you're totally correct, it is unfair. Not sure what to suggest
     
    Getting a perfect score here just requires a little bit of luck that you don't run into any legendary Pokemon. It's actually pretty easy to get a high score if none show up

    My highest level is Master with a score of 6,497 ran into 2 Legend teams cant remember which ones. But i mean Evasiveness at +2 on the first 2 pokes isnt fair. Theres a reason Evasion moves are banned in Rated.

    No im pretty sure Cresselia and Regigigas are banned. I dont think Cobalion is and i kever got to see the 4th poke because Cobalion and Cresselia pretty much crushed my team.

    So like the title says whats your highest rank and score? Doubles? Singles?

    My highest Doubles Score: 6,497

    My highest Singles Rank: Elite
    My highest Singles Score: 5,931

    I merged your 2 threads, TriforceCourage. No real reason to have two separate threads on the Battle Institute. Also, the multiquote button allows you to quote more than one person in a single post, so there's no need to make a post for each person you quote.

    Anyway, is the Battle Institute fair? I would say its a bit more fair than the Maison or Subway, since in those the game analyzes your team and starts to create counter-teams after some time, but it can't exactly do that in the 5 matches you do in the Institute; it needs more time.

    Throwing a team of legendaries at you is typical of Battle facilities in the games, but you are allowed to use those very same legendaries yourself. The ones that are banned can be found here. You also get to use Mega Evolutions, which the AI never gets to use, so there's that. And I'm pretty sure that evasion moves are only banned in places that use Smogon's rules. Rated Battle Spot battles and VGC have very few rules, and I'm pretty Evasion Clause is not one of them.

    As for my scores, I only have 2, and both are in Singles.
    1) Elite Rank, 5592 points, with Mega Lucario, Rotom-W, and Garchomp
    2) Master Rank, 6124 points, with Mega Blaziken, Wobbuffet, and Azumarill
