1st Gen The Bike Cost 1 Million Pokedollars

In the original Kanto games, the bike cost 1 Million Pokedollars, which is more than the player can carry. The bike seller will say, "Sorry, you can't afford it!" Talking to the pokemon fan club chairman will give you a bike voucher.


A small known fact, though. Did you know that talking to the bike seller before having a bike voucher makes the text speed instant? In gen I only, of course. Really cool.

Seems pretty strange to give out free vouchers for products that are worth $1million. Would've been interesting to see what might have happened if you actually could carry that amount of money in the game. Maybe you could have gotten a second bike with the voucher.
