I disagree, I think Durant is a great Pokemon to base on Ants. I wasn't disappointed with it at all, I think it was perfect. It looks exactly like an Ant, it behaves exactly like an Ant (They attack in group, they build nests together, etc.) and it's rivals with Heatmor, which is based on an Anteater. Heck, even its stats is close to what an ant would have, just maybe a little too strong for an Ant. (Ants are fast and some species got a very strong bite. The only thing unusual is the big defense, but I guess it's there to reflect its steel typing.)
Battling-wise, it's not bad at all either! 109 base attack and speed, and 112 adorable base defense. Hustle is basically a free Choice Band to raise its already high attack, and with Hone Claws/Scope Lens you can just laugh at the accuracy drop. Bug/Steel is one of the best typing in the whole game, imo. Only problem it has is the lack of good coverage. Bug/Steel doesn't really provide any amazing coverage sadly, and the only things Stone Edge hits are Electric/Flying and Fire types. It needs a way around steel types. :x

I think Durant is a great Pokemon that reflects on real life Ants, and it's really a great Pokemon in general. Definitely one of the best Bug types out there, but it's just so underrated. :\

Wow, You have just changed my whole opinion on durant in one post. You really have a way with words. XD

I thought Durant was rated a little lower than scizor or the same.

Also it seems to me that Venonat and Butterfree should of had been in the same evolution family (Venonat evolves to butterfree) since they have the same body color and same eyes.

I do like surkit but it is incredible weak when you get it and train it.

Also I like Vespoqueen since it can learn destiny bond and that it has 3 signature moves.
But it is hard to get in Plat, Plear, and Diam. Same goes with the mothim evolutions. Also I would like to use Mothin and of Womadamn forms once. Luckly you get Heracross and Aimpom in HG/SS so you don't need to wait for ages to get them since you can just trade them over.

Also sizcor was the top hit since the G/S/C days. Same with Gyrados.

Well i really love this club and dont want it to die so I decided to add a topic
What types of bug pokemon would you change or change a different pokemon to bug?

First off to me Volbeat and Illumise should be Bug/Electric, they are fireflies with lights on the their bum.

Also Does anyone else think that Trapinch, Vibrava and Flygon should have been Bug/Dragon. Ground works too but I think it would have been awesome to have a bug dragon pokemon. Also too me they look a bit buggish. :D

I'm pretty sure Volbeat and Illumise were intended to be Bug/Electric at first. They both learn some Electric type moves as well.
I honestly don't know why Trapinch wasn't a Bug in the first place, and why Vibrava and Flygon weren't Bug/Dragon or Ground instead of Ground/Dragon. They're all based on an insect after all. (Antlion.)

I'm mentioning Drapion here again. I really wonder why Drapion isn't Poison/Bug at all. (I know Scorpions aren't really insect, but Skorupi is a Bug type after all. Same for the other arachnid Pokemon.) It's more Bug type than Dark type imo.
I think Dark fits Accelgor a lot. It is based on a Ninja after all.

^THIS

The first time I saw Vibrava I originally thought it was a bug (A dragonfly is a bug right?)
Although trapinch reasonably looks like a ground type and flygon would've suited more Flying/dragon. That evolution line is kinda wack xD

Look at this picture explaining what I meant.

This club could use an activity! And by that, I meant activity from an activity! (you know what I mean right?)

So, when I was talking about Durant, and when I saw that I changed someone's opinion on it (Ciax), I thought "why not do it with other Bug types too?"
Considering how there's so many hated Bug types in there (Pinsir and Shuckle, to name some), it'd be fun to try and talk about them, figuring out why they're hated, and why they're actually good and just underrated, etc etc.
The whole idea is to talk about an underrated Bug type Pokemon and figure more about it as well. Bug is the most underrated type imo, and could use something like this. I just want to figure out more about them and make other people like them as well.
I want everyone's opinion about this before we start though, since I'm not sure about it. I know it'll most likely end up like my "Review a Steel type Pokemon" but I want this to be a discussion about a Bug type.

This sounds awesome, I also hate it how people think bug types are weak. Shuckle is very underated he can be an extreme annoyer and after using Pinsir in My bug UMC I saw how good he was. People just write them off because their stats arent the best or they arent very popular. This idea sounds great. :)

I also saw this club needed some activity but didnt know how to do it thank god you came up with something.

Hi, I'd love to join~ I'm a big fan of bug types and I'd love to be a part of a club dedicated to them! If I could, I'd like to have Joltik as my partner. x3

Hey, I'd like to join! I'd want Parasect as my partner, he's so cute and I've seen him do major damage to teams.

Too bad bugs in real life aren't as cute as they are in pokemon.

Shuckle is so awesome, his defenses are amazing, and he has access to Power split which evens out his and his enemy's attack and special attack stat. With this he can use rollout or Gyro ball and just destroy whole teams.

I don't know much about Pinsir, I've always hated his design though.

Hello to the new members!

A simple topic would do for now, before we could go with my previous idea.
Your favorite Bug type move?

I honestly hope people will answer this. ;(

I wanna join! Bug is tied with Poison for my second favorite type.

My favorite Bug-type is Galvantula, followed by Ledian, followed by Ariados, followed by Shuckle, followed by Scolipede, followed by Beautifly....I like a lot of them. ^^;

Favorite type of bug move? Probably Bug Buzz or Signal Beam. I'm pretty into a "offense is the best kind of defense" view, so any move that deals a decent amount of damage, and may cause some good lowering of Atk/Def/Sp.Atk/Sp.Def is always good in my book.

The club is back up and running awesome. So favourite bug type move, umm.....
Tail Glow, +3 Special Attack = Automatic win
Makes Volbeat a viable in-game special sweeper and Manaphy is pretty much an uber because of this move

I like special bug moves like Signal Beam, it's just weird to me because most bug type moves are physical. For physical move I'd go with Megahorn, I love that move.

I love the special bug moves as well, signal beam is my favoiurite after tail glow. XD

Hello I'd like to join :3

My favouroite bug type sometimes changes from time to time, but I absolutely LOVE Shuckle and Crustle (though I like Crustle's Japanese name more)! As for my partner... I guess I will have Crustle.

I don't use many bugs in-game because the ones I like most, such as Shuckle, aren't the best at fainting other pokemon. I have used Beautifly on numerous occasions though through the Hoenn Region, and I used a bit of Heracross and Vespiquen. I used to own a BUg/Grass club on Serebii back in the day too :)

What I love most about bug types are their vibrant shiny's, and sophisticated designs. Some of my favourite shiny's include Masquerain, Volcarona and Araidos.

As for favourite bug moves, I always found Attack Order by Vespiquen quite amusing XD And I also love BugBuzz. I'm so glad they are starting to create stronger bug moves, and making their stats good in the Unova. I was sad to see some low stats in the Kanto bug group.

Heya, liek to join.
Me loves bug types, all kinds of them. I love Levanny, it made a extremely good effort in my team.

In R/S/E, I got both Beautifly and Dustox, now on my white level 100 both, :33

I've also got a Shiny Volcarona, lovely.

Added all new member. :)

I think I forgot to answer my own topic, lol.
Your favorite Bug type move?
Quiver Dance. That move is so good it's not funny. It made Venomoth actually ridiculous. +Sp.Atk, Spe and Sp.Def is not a joke at all and makes Pokemon like Volcarona unbelievably ridiculous. It's seriously broken imo, but it's so amazing.

To bump this club up Ima suggest a new topic.

What is the cutest bug pokemon and why?
If you want provide a picture showing its cuteness

[PokeCommunity.com] The Bug Type Fanclub

This thing is about 4 inches tall, making it even cuter. But seriously how can it not be cute. Its just a little of fuzz, fun, cool and cute all in one mini package
