The Children Are Hunted

Thomas felt the RV get hit and fell out of his seat.
"What the heck?!" Thomas said. Esper lifted him back on the couch. Just what in the world was going on out there?!

"Why? Because haven't you seen that she's headed this way? Are all humans this blind?" Trigger barked out at the woman. He didn't like her at all. He floated over to Garet.
"Have you noticed the great measure they are taking to protect this RV? There is something, or someone inside they don't want us to have," Trigger said so that only the Arcanine could hear. He lifted off again when Alyss arrived. Not only that, but her little flying rat was back awake.
"I see you changed your mind! I am ready to resume this battle any time!" Trigger said taking off. The storm had finally blown over head. Good, that made things a little easier. The rain would give him cover, and the lightning would be more dangerous to her than it would be to him. He knew precisely what to do in this situation. He also had a very powerful technique, but he didn't want to use it. It could kill the girl, and that was the last thing he wanted.

Vulpix was kicked hard in the head. He slowly got to his feet. Well, that hadn't worked well. He ran around to the other side of the RV. He growled at Garet.
"Get out of here! There's nothing for you!" he yelled, then blasted a white hot Flamethrower at him. Even though Arcanines could absorb fire attacks, Vulpix doubted that he could absorb this one. It was far too hot! But even if he couldn't, then Garet wouldn't take that much damage from it.

"Uh... stuff's hit the fan?" Zoran answered cheerily. He sat on the floor, looking unconcerned.

Ash snickered. "I am blind you idiot!" she yelled, looking suddenly very alive. She leapt onto the Arcanine's back and focused, trying to drain his energy. This power was a crapshoot at best but she wanted to try. "Aura just helps me know where things are. I'm not as freaking blessed as you are! And besides, that bastard has a gun, idiot!"

Alyss shrugged as she floated up. Emma landed on her back. The flying squirrel seemed like it was hindering her but Alyss knew better. "I don't like leaving things unfinished." She waited a moment, then focused. "Emma, get ready."

"Yep!" The wind focused on Alyss, beginning to tear her apart. But that was okay, she knew it would be worth it. It was just pain. Alyss closed her eyes then quickly moved behind Trigger, grabbing his wings. She hoped he would make her let go; this was a painful move to make her do to him.

A Little Too Much Resistance

Garet agreed with Trigger. Almost right after that, the rain arrived. It just had to rain, didn't it?

The Arcanine turned at the arrival of Van, then frowned as the white fire came at him. This would be a first. He gritted his teeth as his body tried to absorb the fire, but it was too much. He would have to release whatever was absorbed and just take the hit from the rest of it. Garet took a step into the Flamethrower, slowly moving towards the Vulpix. He was about jump forward to grab Van when he felt a weight on his back. Get off me! he thought, dropping to the ground and rolling over to try crushing whoever had jumped on him. Getting back up, Garet released the white-hot fire he'd managed to absorb in a Flamethrower back at Van.

Vulpix tried to do the same thing, but he was overpowered as well. He released the fire he had built up, and blocked as much of the damage as he could. After the smoke cleared, he noticed the rain. When had that started? He ignored it and dove underground again. He wouldn't be able to beat Garet in a fire fight (lol), even with Ash helping. But he had other things he could do. He came out in front of Garet and used Flash. It wouldn't hurt Ash, as she already couldn't see, but Garet was another story. He just hoped that Garet wouldn't expect him to know this move. How much had Trigger told him anyway?

Trigger was shocked. She had grabbed his wings. Not good! He had seen that the wind was cutting her to ribbons and guessed that she was using something that would knock him out of comission. He could not allow that. He rolled around and around, creating a Twister between the two of them. It blasted both of them away from each other. He took a bit of damage, but not as much as he would have taken. He was above the blind woman.
"I am sorry for what I said. I did not know," he said before flying away to continue the battle in the air, blasting another Twister at Alyss.

Robby knew he had sensed that before. He walked into view, and adding his telekinesis to the blood power strangling the boy.
"Hello Bryan! Or is it Zeph? I could never tell the two of you apart. It's taken me a while, but I finally remember. I remember I hated your guts. And now, here I find you trying to hurt my friends? I don't think so!" Robby said, using his power to keep the boy from moving.
"Did I hear Asha right when she said he had a gun?" Robby asked Mickey.

Ash grunted as she clung despite the pain. Kira was nearby, waiting for permission to move. "Is cool," she replied to Trigger, forcing Aura from her body, hopefully going to slow him down somehow. If it didn't, well... she knew cutting him open would. That would be rude though.

Alyss braced herself as the Twister hit. Emma leapt, landing on Trigger's back now. She leapt up, firing an orb of electricity. Alyss shook herself, getting herself to recover from Twister's effects. Before checking to see it Electro Ball hit or not, Arca burst from her ball, firing a Frost Breath. Alyss shook her feathers slightly.

Mickey nodded, watching the boy easily break through the telekinesis. "Damn..." He drew the blood back, coiling it around his hand. Bryan smirked and released a powerful blaze, spinning it toward Robby's head. Mickey figured the guy could handle himself, tackling Bryan to the ground. Bryan kicked him off.

"I'm glad you hated my guts you freak," the boy said cheerfully. "You were one of the pets of that guy, do you remember that? He liked you and shunned us."

"Probably because you were too destructively stupid," Mickey muttered,carefully forming something behind the pyro's back.

Blinded By The Light

Oh, snap! Garet growled and lunged forward with ExtremeSpeed, aiming to knock over the Vulpix. After that, he turned his head to look at his passenger. After that Flash, all he could see at the moment was an outline of everything. He could tell, though, that he had a human on his back. Probably the one with the Lucario. The Arcanine fell to the ground and rolled onto his back again, staying there for a few more seconds before getting back up. Garet then turned his head again to bite at the human with Fire Fang if she was still hanging on.

"Well gee, that changes everything! Not! And you're a fine one to call others a freak! I'm fighting for my friends, not Theo. What exactly are you fighting for?" Robby said, dispelling the fire with a gesture of his hand. He saw what Mickey was doing, and was determined to keep the boys attention on him. He picked up a great deal of rocks and sticks, and hurled them at Bryan.

Vulpix got hit by the Extreem Speed and went over backwards. He shakily got to his feet. He dove under ground again, this time coming up directly under Garet. He wasn't going to lose this now!

Trigger backwinged abruptly and came to a halt, watching the Electro Ball fly in front of his face and collide with the Frost Breath. They weren't working together that well. That made things a tad bit easier, at least it would until they got it together. He twisted in the air, dodging the Aura that was flung at him. Honestly, what did she hope to accomplish with that? He was too far up in the air to be hit with those kinds of attacks! He swooped up and hit the Emolga with Aerial Ace. He then twisted around and used Mud Slap towrd the Glaceon that was now falling to the ground.

(OOC: Arca can't fly. I hope she knows that!)

Ash had rolled off at that point, rather annoyed. Kira had moved at the sight of the Fire Fang, creating a bone made of Aura and slamming it down toward Garet's head.

Alyss smiled to herself. She saw Dora from the ground use Psychic to let her Pokemon down gently. "Saved that," she muttered and tackled Trigger. Whether that hit or not didn't matter. This would. She was close enough that dodging was not smart. In her hands were some of Glaceon's furs, sharpened into quills by the cold. She had quite a few of them and as she charged, stabbed half of them directly at Trigger while throwing the rest as she passed.

"I'm fighting for Zeph, who that winged demon killed!" Bryan melted it easily and charged toward Robby with a fiery orb in his hands. "And once you're dead, I'll get her and that stupid shadow freak. I was supposed to kill him but she got in the way back then. Not this time." Mickey frowned. Okay he had no clue what that one meant. The shape was progressing quickly but he noted to himself how much blood it took. Yeah, Ash owed him.

(OOC: Disregard my mistake. Sorry for inactivity.)

Tony had been frozen. For some reason he couldn't move his arms or legs. His skin had become prickly and tight. If he attempted movement, it seemed it would simply rip. He looked at one of kids. He reminded her of someone, but who? Maybe this could help him find out who he really was. He didn't remember anything farther back since when he was 12. That's when he met Ms. Karen, but that's all he remembered. Awakening as a freak that can levitate objects can be pretty freaky. Finally it calmed down and he could move again. He looked at the kids. Then, the Arcanine showed up again.

After all the trouble he had gone through to get away from that beast. Now, it was his time to shine. He had one Pokemon that could take down the Arcanine if only she would listen. Tony had traveled all through Pangaea trying to find badges so that she would obey him, he had no idea where she had come from. He grabbed his Pokeball. Charmander and Geodude stood no chance.

"Go, Alakazam. Please...use Psychic."

(If it was a problem with the Internet, then it's fine with me.)

He heard wind whistling around something falling toward him. Garet ducked his head and danced away, blinking his eyes. Even if the Flash's effects were wearing off a little, the rain wasn't helping. Garet didn't notice that Van came up where he'd been standing.

What had he gotten himself into? The only reason he'd come here was because he wanted to find out who the saboteurs were and what they'd taken from the plane. And why they'd sabotaged the plane in the first place. This had just about nothing to do with his real mission or with Leo and the boy being captured by the Underoot coward. Of course, sabotaging his partner's plane had made it his business, sort of.

The wind at ground level shifted and brought two unfamiliar scents to Garet's nose, one human and one Pokemon. This many opponents was probably going to bring him down if he didn't leave.

Garet growled, then dashed with ExtremeSpeed, aiming for what looked like the front end of the RV (he was still a little blinded). Stopping in front of it, he closed his eyes and mouth and rammed the glass with his head. He'd leave something if he could help it.

~~~~~
Was this the boy he'd tied up? His Aura looked close enough that Leo was sure that this was the son of the AAPM's leader, according to his sources. The one he'd tied up while Garet had confronted Underoot. Keeping his Aura-sense focused on the boy, Leo extended his telepathy to mentally ask, "Are you Ronimoba?"
Thomas was startled by the crash of glass.
"What the heck!?" Thomas yelled. Esper reacted. He blasted the white Arcanine's mind with every negative emotion he had, multiplying them as strong as he could.
"You will not harm Thomas!" was the powerful mental shout that went along with his attack. He then threw Garet as far as he could.
Trigger folded his wings and fell like a stone. Alyss passed just overhead. He was about to attack again when he heard the mental shout. He whinced at it's power.
"I'm afraid I must cut this short. Good bye, Alyss!" Trigger said. He flew to Garet.
"What do you mean?" Robby asked. He raised a root out of the ground to trip Bryan and make him fall. Then he threw a rather large rock at him.
"I told you, you will not hurt any of my friends!" he said.
Alyss winced at the mental shot and watched Trigger go. She wasn't afraid. Zoran was smiling about something. She could feel it as the boy got up from where he was, shaking off glass. "Well, great," the boy muttered. "Ash!" he called. "We have to replace the windshield!"
Ash let out a flurry of violent curses. Then she asked. "You guys all right?"
"Sure," he replied. "Probably shaken but we're cool!" She rolled her eyes as Alyss dived downward, touching down lightly on the RV roof. Glancing at Trigger and the faraway Garet, he pleasantly commented. "You guys got way over your heads didn't you?"
"None of your business!" The pyro snapped. Bryan rolled out of the way and the rock and hissed sharply. "I've been here too long," he muttered. He crouched. "It looks like that bastard will get to live a little longer. Lucky him." His body erupted into a violent flame and he disappeared. Mckey dropped the blood, looking irritated.
"That was a serious waste of time and energy," he snarled, wringing his hands out.
Ouch. That mental shout and being thrown was currently feeling like two Psychic Pokemon had part in it. And he hadn't been able to drop his own tracker inside the RV before being blasted. The line of the mental shout ran through Garet's mind again: You will not harm Thomas. Whatever that Pokemon had been, he (or she) was apparently loyal to this Thomas.
This is what happens when he charges in without thinking all of it through. Garet rolled over to a lying position, shooting a glare at the distant RV and all those nearby. The Flash's effects were almost gone, and he could vaguely make out another boy with an Alakazam, some distance from the RV. Had that Pokemon had a part in throwing him like this? He wasn't able to tell for himself.
Blast this rain! "Trigger," Garet growled, pushing himself up as the Staraptor flew to him, "in addition to any mission concerning the CTs there, I am personally putting you in charge of finding out what they had stolen and why they had sabotaged the plane. If possible, and if it does not violate any other orders, capture them." The disappointment and related feelings of failing at something that hadn't even been an actual assignment was the sharp point in breaking through his control of his emotions. "I'll fly Leo's plane when it's fixed and free him, and that boy, then come back and--" Garet stopped talking and growled, turning and walking back towards the city. Once Leo was freed and the boy in custody, the Arcanine would personally request to be in charge of tracking down that group of humans and Pokemon.
"I understand. You should rest a while before doing anything rash like that again," Trigger said. He flew off. He would wait before trying to talk with them again. They were too angry to be rational right now.
Thomas looked at Esper. He had heard the shout in his head.
"Just fine! What happened out there? How did everything come to this?" Thomas said. Mia and Marcus walked in the RV.
"What happened?" she asked.
Robby scoffed. He looked at Mickey.
"What a fool," he said. He still didn't know what was going on with Byran, but it went deeper than simple revenge. He began to walk back to the RV, but stopped. He spotted Amber limping his direction. She meowed softly, in a voice filled with pain. Robby sighed and picked her up. He continued to the RV. Thomas was not going to like this.
Alyss looked at Trigger and waved. She had a feeling this wouldn't be their last meeting and wanted to show she had no hard feelings. After that, she went to Thomas and Zoran, not protesting when the latter lightly hugged her. That was all she needed before leaving the conscious world, backlash turning her whole body into a mass of deep cuts and bruises. Zoran winced appropriately before smiling pleasantly again, carefully laying her down so he could begin bandaging her.
Arca went to help immediately, watching Cody walk over to Vulpix and carry him inside. Ash muttered a curse at the sight of Amber before helping Mickey in too. Doom went outside with Cody after he was done, going to assist Dora in repairing the windshield.
Finally, she smaller boy spoke, looking at him with an easygoing grin and tone. "Well, y'see Thomas," he chirped. "You just sat through our group fighting off the RDM. And judging by the fact that I think no one's dead, we probably won."
Ash snorted. "Nah, drove them off. But in our case, it's the same thing." She saw Alyss and winced. "Jeez, what'd that Staraptor do? Her backlash usually ain't this bad."
"As I've been saying, stuff hit the fan," Zoran replied, carefully cleaning the wounds as Arca cooled them down. "Now Esper, please be nice and attempt to focusyour mental shots of negative emotions. The shadows did not need more of an excuse to want to blast this world into oblivion. Also, Thomas, Amber's looking pretty bad so I'm going to ask you to not touch her and let Dora deal with her when she gets back inside." Zaria finally left Alyss' shadow, looking exhausted.
"Zora... I don't like doing that..." she whined. Her brother sighed.
"I did warn you." She just whined again and rested her head on her brother's shoulder. Zoran glanced at Robby and Mickey, but looked at Robby more, seeing that his best friend was semi-conscious.
"So how was Bryan?"
"About the same as usual, but only more," Robby said, winking at Zoran. Thomas tried to focus his eyes. He was seeing everyone as different hues. What did that mean? Still, it was better than seeing all white. He knew better than to touch Amber. He didn't have healing powers.
"What happened to him?" Marcus asked.
"Vulpix? He got hit pretty hard during the fight. He must have been knocked out," Mia said.
"Quick! Someone give Mia a pokeball! She wanted to catch him, remember?" Robby said with a laugh. Mia glared at him.
"Don't even kid about that. If I did that, as soon as he woke up, he'd set me on fire!" Mia said seriously.
"And laugh as I watched you burn!" Vulpix grumbled.
"I'm sorry Zoran. It was my first instinct," Esper said.
"Good to know you still have them," Thomas said.
Zoran grinned at Robby. "Well good," he replied merrily. "Glad to know he still wants to kill me. My life would be incomplete if he didn't. And no worries Esper, just giving you the heads-up. Mickey I swear if you bite me right now I will let Ash castrate you." Mickey shied back.
"Sorry, drained."
"You and everybody else sweetheart," the boy mocked. "Let me finish patching Alyss." The boy obeyed, actually looking contrite. Ash snickered as Dora floated the somehow repaired glass back into the frame. The Pokemon came in and set to work on healing Amber. Naturally, she shut and locked the door. Ash went and shut the back as Kira came in. The Lucario looked seriously bored.
"Kira, if you're so indifferent, put up a barrier." Ash gave this order as she slumped in a chair. Her Pokemon complied, creating a barrier against any attacks as the now wild storm outside. "Anybody stupid enough to go outside now will be fried. All living creatures we care about are inside. If not Ness will teleport them in."
"Err, does that mean we have to stay here? How long?" Mia asked. She didn't know if she wanted to stay in the cramped RV. Robby fell to the ground and zoned out. his backlash had just hit him.
"Well, you can always go out there if you don't like it," Thomas said.
"Think a moment, I know it's hard, but please try. Those two are still hanging around out there. We barely drove them off! I'm hurt. Ash is drained. Alyss is out! Mickey is even more drained than Ash. So is Robby! And Thomas is still weak from earlier. What would happen if they decided to come back? We'd have only Zoran and Marcus to fight them off, and let's face it, they would lose. Garet and Trigger are that powerful. No, it's better to stay in here where it's safe," Vulpix said angrily. Mia bit her lip.
"When you put it that way, I guess it makes sense," Mia said.
"Yes, but someone better dry off Vulpix and Amber and Kira before it starts to smell in here. There are few things in this world that smell worse than wet fur!" Esper said in a light tone of voice.
"Shut up you flea-bitten little cat!" Vulpix growled at him.
"Really? That's all you got. Well, you mangy mutt, for your information Thomas treated my fleas a month and a half ago. They haven't come back since!" Esper said. Vulpix looked like he wanted to kill him, but moving hurt too much. Instead, he sat there andf growled at Esper. Amber looked at them all and meowed sadly. She decided she didn't like the rain. Thomas thought of another problem. How long would they have to hide in here for? Would they be able to make it without killing each other? He was already starting to feel trapped, but he fought it down.
Zoran and Ash looked at each other and nodded. Ash quietly got up and pulled out towels. Kira instantly went back to his Pokeball. He hated being towel dried. Zoran gently went over to Vulpxs and began to dry him. He was careful, massaging the Pokemon's muscles as he worked. He would tend to Amber next. Ash meanwhile carried Alyss into another room. Mickey watched Zoran in silence, almost hungrily so.
"You should take Robby and go with Ash," Zoran told Marcus softly. His eyes were strange, distant, as he worked. Mickey understood what Ash and Zoran were doing. They knew how humans were naturally stir-crazy but they were used to being trapped with people so it didn't bother them. Most of the conscious people here weren't. So they were keeping calm and simply going through the motions they would give a houseguest. Dora rose to her feet and turned to Mia and Thomas.
"The back of the RV is much less cramped. It would be best to move there and rest," she told them placatingly. "Would you follow me please? I will lead Marcus there once his cousin is settled."
Marcus nodded and stood up. He had a feeling about what was about to happen. He walked over and lifted his cousin to his feet. Esper leapt off the couch to help him.
"I don't think I can get up, oh, thanks Mia!" Thomas said as Mia placed her arm around him and helped him to his feet. Thomas leaned heavily on her as she walked to the back room. Vulpix looked at Mickey.
"Hey, Zoran. Haven't you already done this once today? Blood loss is really bad. From what I've seen it can be even worse than backlash. Are you sure it's smart? Oh am I totally missing the mark here. It's just he has that look in his eyes. Like that of a hunter, half mad with starvation," Vulpix said quietly when they all were gone.
