The Children Are Hunted

"Oh god no! Anything but that!" Vulpix said. He had followed them in. He was falling asleep out there, and he'd much rather sleep on something soft.
"It's only missing a few rocks because Esper gave them to you! And I think I'm fine. Little Tommy is more than capable of getting himself to sleep, thank you very much!" Thomas said, with a grin on his face. Vulpix leapt up onto one of the beds, though Thomas couldn't tell which one. He was already falling asleep. He barely managed to pull the blanket over himself before he was out completely. This time in a real and restful sleep. Not whatever he had been in out there. Vulpix snorted from where he was at the foot of the other bed. Thomas tended to move about in his sleep, and Vulpix didn't feel like getting kicked in his sleep. He lay down as well. If anything was going to happen, he would wake up. The door to the RV opened and Esper walked in. Without a word to anyone, he leapt up and lay down nest to Thomas.

"Smart," Ash whispered, going to the shower again. Zoran snorted lightly and slid Alyss on the e bunk above Thomas and Esper. That would make her very happy when she woke up. He quietly shut the door and climbed up to where he and Ash usually slept, out cold in minutes. Mickey snorted lightly from the doorway.

"Told you," he said softly as Dratini popped out of the back of his shirt. Sneasel blinked at him and began exploring the RV, oblivious. He sat at the table, humming to himself.

Garet sighed to himself as he looked for a way around the "roadblock". He'd almost run into a large crowd of humans in the city, which would have meant multiple eyewitness reports of a white Arcanine in the area. He did not need that to happen, as the publicity of it would likely attract the AAPM's attention.

Trotting past a certain building that smelled of food, Garet stopped, his nose twitching. Familiar scent, it was telling him. He backtracked to the building, his nose to the ground. What's this? he thought, grinning to himself. The human whose scent had been in the RDM plane had come here. It wasn't fresh, though, and it was overlaid with other smells that were more fresh. Garet would have to remember this if he came through here again. Looking up at the front of the building, he spent a few minutes to memorize the appearance.

Nodding to himself, Garet continued on his way. After a little while, he found the Venice base. Spotting Trigger on the ground, he walked over. "Did you find the one in charge?" he asked the Staraptor.

Mia sighed. It was getting boring again. She hated having nothing to do. She pulled out Sparkles pokeball. It was covered in all manner of stickers and what not. it was also very glittery. She doubted it would even work, so why was she keeping it? She put it back in her bag.
"Hey, Marcus. Want to train some more?" Mia asked. Marcus nodded and stood up. Mia sent out Delcatty, who was matched by Clefairy. This should be interesting, Mia thought to herself.

"Find the one in charge?" Trigger echoed. He shook his head. A pair of Machop were carrying the woman away.
"No, nobady seems to be in charge. I appointed Winny to lead the the others until Merin arrives. She was the highest rank on sight at the time," Trigger said. Winny grinned up at the big Arcanine.
"Tell me what you need, sir, and I'll have a tech team take care of it!" she said. She waved behind her, and a Elekid walked up.
"Whatever he needs you to do, go ahead and do it," she told him. He grinned at her and looked at Garet.

This was unusual, to say the least, to find such a Deviser in charge at the moment. "First off," Garet started, turning to the Elekid, "Leo SkyHigh's plane is on the outskirts of the city, where it was sabotaged. I would like it to be recovered and repaired if possible. Also, this device I have here-" The Arcanine held up his right paw, showing the tracking device. "-I need it to be tuned to another tracker, one from SkyHigh's plane."

Yes, he would go after Leo, the boy, and that coward of an AAPM agent. But first, once he was done here, it would be time to track down the saboteurs.

The Elekid fiddled with the device for a moment, then turned it on. It was working properly, and he tuned it to the correct signal. After turning it off, and then back on to see if his changes were saved he took a step back.
"Don't worry, we'll take care of the plane," Elekid said.
"Now what are you guys going to do?" Winny asked.
"We'll disclose that information when the time is right, and not before?" Trigger said. Winny nodded.
"Why not? Oh well. We'll keep everything going right around here until someone that actually knows what they are doing shows up. Good luck on whatever it is you're planning!" Winny said before ambling away. She began directing people to go inspect the plane.
"Satisfied? Can we go now?" Trigger asked. He wanted to get this done! They may be able to get two CTs at once! This was just too perfect to miss!

"Patience," Garet said to Trigger, turning to leave. "On the way here, I picked up the human's scent, a little more fresh than at the plane. Find it again, and I can follow it from there. If not, we'll start from the plane." With that, the Arcanine began running, following his own scent back the way he'd come. Before long, he was back at the building that smelled of food.

Leo looked up again. They hadn't given him much to eat, probably trying to get him hungry and weak enough before doing something with him. As patient as he was, having nothing to do and being contained in this cell was making him...bored, mainly. At least he'd had some time to recover from the Hyper Beam. Leo relaxed and closed his eyes, extending his Aura-sense up and out of the cell. As long as there were no hostile Aura users, he could probably scout out the building without being noticed.

"I'll do what I do best. I'll look for them from the air, as well as keep an eye on you. See you when we arrive," Trigger said. He took off, and flew the direction Garet was headed. That Arcanine moved fast, for a land dweller. But Trigger was in the air, and he drifted lazily through the sky, keeping a hawk's eye out for the group he had found earlier. He spotted the girl that had been in the plane battling someone. He landed just out of scent range, for there was a Delcatty and a Leafeon, though the latter seemed to be asleep. Wait, wasn't that the same Leofeon that had wanted to play with him earlier. He chuckled to himself. That was how they slipped in the plane. They sent her out to distract him. He sat and waited for Garet to arrive. He'd probably be along any second now.

Alyss twitched, suddenly very awake. She shook lightly, her wings beating slightly against the fabric. Outside, there was a flying type nearby. She knew it, always did.Power-users could sense their same type or even that type of Pokemon when they were near. Zeph had been a fluke, he had been stalking her. And this was Trigger, she knew because he had remained nearby.Avoiding waking Thomas (she hoped), she slid down to the ground silently and left the room, heading outside.

"Do you think you're going to fight?" She froze at the door, Zoran's eyes very blank as they rested on her.

"I don't know," she admitted. "But at the very least, I should see." She was nervous and scared again; she hated it so much.

"Whatever it is, you'll be okay. You'll always be okay." She looked at him with wide, sad eyes. Zoran smiled quietly. "Because Alyss always does well." She managed a smile. Zoran always knew what to say to calm her down. "Go on now," he told her lightly. She nodded and went outside, heading in the direction she felt Trigger was at. Mickey didn't even glance up. he knew something was off but would let her handle things. Arca leapt to follow her.

Garet arrived a few seconds after Trigger had landed. He'd picked up the other intruders' scents just now. He stayed beside Trigger, watching the RV and those who were outside. If he could get closer, he could tell which of them had been on the plane. Walking into view wouldn't be a smart idea, though.

There were three humans outside, all of them young. There were also a Leafeon, a Delcatty, and... Garet narrowed his eyes as he watched a girl and a Glaceon come out of the RV and start walking in their direction. If nothing else, this would be a chance to see if either of them had been on the plane. The Arcanine backed away a few steps before stopping. If Trigger had been able to talk to one of these humans without fighting, then he'd wait to see what would happen.

((Are there a lot of trees in this area?))

(I haven't been to Venice so I wouldn't know but I'm assuming it. XD)

Alyss paused. Something else had arrived. She suppressed a laugh. Unsurprising. Teams were a lot smarter. She wondered if this one would attempt to talk to her. It wasn't like she gave off the aura of murder, like an angry Ash or the shadows or Theo sometimes. She probably seemed like a very peaceful, terrified kid. Until she brought out the wings. That would be fun to scare them with, just because she could. Usually she didn't like doing that, but she wondered what theories they had on the powers. That would throw them all for a loop. Hers weren't normal either.

Thomas woke up when he heard Alyss land softly on the ground. He decided to remain where he was. There was something going on. He could feel it, but he was in no condition to do anything. He would lay there and rest. Maybe his strength would return soon and he could actually help, but for now, he had to let his friends handle it.
"You be careful now," Thomas mumbled, wondering if she thought he was talking in his sleep. Vulpix jumped of the bed and followed her out the door unnoticed.

Trigger spotted Alyss heading in his direction. He also spotted the loud girl that has been in the plane. He pointed her out to Garet.
"That girl with the blue hat was in the plane. The girl headed our way has powers over the wind or something like that. Be careful, we don't know what she wants," Trigger said. He stopped when he saw Van come out of the RV as well. He sniffed around, and sat down in front of it, as if guarding it. Trigger landed in a tree where he knew she would spot him. He looked back and saw the Arcanine had hidden himself. Good.

Alyss looked up at him. "Any reason your friend's hiding from me?" she asked softly. "I won't do anything unless you make me." Arca snorted, the Glaceon lifting herself to stare at Trigger with a look of warning. Touch her and you die. Alyss scratched her ears passively.

"Are you looking for someone?" the Glaceon asked with slight amusement in her eyes. "Someone that interfered with your plans maybe? You have that look." She pawed an ear, cleaning it. "Or are you just trying to break the fragile peace we've got going here? That's not polite you know."

Garet saw the Vulpix, as well. Was this Van Flaresoul? He'd find out. The Arcanine turned his attention to the Glaceon that was with the girl. The Glaceon didn't look like a weak Pokemon, perhaps at least at the same competence level as Clair's Dragonair. He stayed where he was, watching all that he could from his position.

~~~~~
Unsurprisingly, there were humans in a lot of the places that Leo had been able to scout out with his Aura-sense. Most of those places had been on the same level as the room with his cell. He couldn't go much farther easily. There had been a few places that looked as if they should belong in a factory.
Leo turned his attention to the Auras he could sense in the other cells of the room. Some of the cells held other Pokemon, several did not contain any prisoners, and very few held humans. It was those few that he was interested in, should any of them be the boy.
Vulpix watched Marcus and Mia training. His gaze turned to Robby. He was doing... something. What a weird guy! He sighed and started following after Alyss. He had picked up a familiar scent in the air, and now he wanted to see if he was right.
Trigger looked at the Glaceon.
"Why so hostile? I am simply sitting here. I have no intentions of fighting," Trigger said. Not you at any rate, he thought to himself. He huffed and began preening his wings. If Garet wanted to show himself, he would. But if not, that was fine. He spotted Van walking over. That pup was terrible at trying to hide. What was it about fire types? None of the ones he had met were any good at hiding.
Arca shrugged, a strange movement for the Glaceon. "Forgive me for not trusting most of the world around me. It's one of those places that constantly attempts to skewer my fantasy of a good life." Alyss shushed her lightly.
"Why are you here now?" she asked quietly. "You know I won't let you hurt everyone. I'm forbidden from allowing that."
(OOC: We kind of need Garet before this goes too much further.)
"So mistrusting! I am not here to fight. Not if I don't have too, at any rate. Hello Van. You need to practice your stealth more," Trigger said calmly. He looked at the little fox that had emerged from the bushes.
"Who said I was trying to hide? Hello, Trigger, you're looking well. And My name is Vulpix now, as you very well know," Van said. Trigger shrugged.
"To me you will always be Van. Now tell me. What has caused you to desert the cause you so fervantly believed in not that long ago?" Trigger asked.
"I don't believe in it anymore," Van said with a shrug.
(Definitely.)
Alyss shook her head solemnly. "Mistrust has saved my life," she said simply, standing back and allowing Vulpix time with his old friend. She knew how this would go. Closing her eyes, she concentrated on the billowing wind now. It was awfully fast for midday. Was a storm coming? She hoped not. Lightning hurt. She was terrible at flying through a storm, let alone fighting in one. Arca glanced at the moving clouds. It would be worse if it hailed. Yeah, Alyss hoped it didn't rain.
The conversation, or at least Trigger's part in it, confirmed that the Vulpix was Van Flaresoul. Garet's nose confirmed that this was the one who had gotten into the plane's compartment. So, this little fox didn't believe in the RDM's cause anymore? He must have been with these humans for too long.
Considering his options, Garet could just let himself be seen and hope that Van didn't run for help. Or, he could make sure that the Vulpix couldn't. That would be seen as aggression, though, which would make it more likely for the girl or Glaceon to call for help.
Eh, he'd take his chances. "There's a bit of business we need to finish up, Flaresoul," Garet growled, stepping out. He'd decided to speak in the common tongue that all Pokemon could speak.
((I'm assuming that, besides those who take the time to learn other spoken languages, Pokemon would speak either in Pokemon or the language they grew up in. Would that be about right?))
(OOC: That's the premise that Fuyu and I have been operating under. That's why I've had Amber speaking to Arca and Trigger, but never to any humans. She could speak pokemon, but not any human languages. But someone like Vulpix could speak both, if he so chose too.)
Vulpix glanced at the white Arcanine, and wondered if he could take him. Probably not, but this was going to be a problem.
"And just what buisiness would that be?" he asked in the same tongue, hoping Alyss wouldn't give away that she could understand him. He didn't know how she could, but she could. Hopefully, she'd take the hint. Trigger looked up.
"Oh dear. A storm is blowing in. This would not be a good time to fly," he said aloud. His rapter eyes missed nothing. There was a distortion in the air directly behind the girl, and based on what she had done before, it was safe to assume that it hid wings. He wondered if she could match him in the air. He'd rather not find out.
