The Children Are Hunted

Thomas bit his lip. He could see nothing. Again. Maybe he shouldn't have used so much power. But now wasn't the time to complain about it.
"Oddly enough, I'm not sleepy. But I am drained. Heh, I doubt I can even stand right now," Thomas said with a smile. Esper walked over to him and began purring.

Mia walked through the streets. She was highly upset. How dare they talk to her like that! She hadn't even done anything! She stopped as she came to the edge of town. Huh? She had walked all this way? How odd. She hadn't even noticed where she was going. She spotted a plane landed not to far away. That was definately strange. She went out to investigate. She got there, and saw that the plane had no visible markings. She spotted some other kids trapped in a net. A Lucario hit one of them over the head. An Arcanine was talking to some other person. Friends of his maybe? She smiled. If he was talking, that meant he was wild. An Arcanine would be a great addition to her team. She dismissed the idea. If she couldn't beat Marcus in a battle, something told her this Arcanine would slaughter her. The stairs to the plane were open. She crept noiselessly inside and looked around. This was clearly an RDM plane!

(OOC: Things just got more complicated. But I doubt that will stop you!)

(Grins)

Ash smirked slightly, opening the door as Alyss padded out. The girl was half-asleep, rubbing her eyes. She yawned softly and looked at Thomas. "Did you do something silly again?" Ash chuckled and Zoran smiled when he heard that. Arca popped onto the girl's head and made a curious sort of mewl. Zoran examined Adler's Pokeball and released him, looking amused. Adler chirped, soaring everywhere.

"Morning, sunshine! And yeah, I guess you could say that," Thomas said with a grin. His headache was passing, but he was still really weak from that. Amber burst out of her pokeball and ran around, shadowing the bird flying above her.
"I guess she enjoyed her nap," Esper said to Thomas.
"Which one?" Thomas asked, causing Esper to laugh. Amber meowed happily.
"Wow, she's full of energy!" Marcus said. Vulpix growled a little.
"I'm not for climbing on!" Vulpix said. Amber meowed at him. Esper sent Thomas what he was seeing. Amber was trying to play with Vulpix, who wasn't enjoying it at all.Thomas laughed at the thought, and Amber resumed chasing Adler.

Vulpix walked over and climbed up onto the stairs to the RV and lay there.
"Well, yeah she is, but it always surprises me," Marcus said thoughtfully. Robby glanced at him. Amber crouched low, and leapt up trying to catch the bird, who flew just out of her reach. Amber was dedicated, and she continued trying to catch Adler.
"Isn't that how you try to catch birds?" Robby asked Vulpix.
"Bite me!" Vulpix said lazily from where he was sitting.
"I wonder what she would do if she caught him," Marcus said.
"I could ask her. Though I don't think she's thought that far ahead yet," Esper said, enjoying the attention he was getting.

Mia stopped and thought for a moment. What was the RDM doing here? Wait, weren't Thomas and the others fighting them? She had to tell them! But, she didn't want to just leave like that. So how could she get the word out. She had no phone, and even if she did, she didn't have any of their numbers.

Trigger landed noiselessly on top of the plane. He looked at the scene below him. Garet and Leo had one CT trapped, along with a few extras. He spotted an AAPM member being confronted by Garet. Trigger had heard rumors of his prowess, and was eager to see if they were true or not. He doubted it, but you never know. Trigger was waiting for that loudmouthed human to come out of the plane. She had been very vocal in her opinions of this Ash person. Trigger knew that someone named Ash was traveling with one of the CTs. That human brat would lead him straight to the other CTs, and after that, Trigger would just follow them until backup arrived. That is, if Garet and Leo didn't need him. Any orders they gave took priority over his scouting. There were a great deal of Starly and Staravia in the area, so he wouldn't look out of place. After all, this was were he was born. Anyone that saw him would dismiss him, but any RDM member that saw him would recognize him immediately. There weren't that many Starapter in the RDM, and he was the only one that was supposed to be in Venice at the moment.

(OOC: I think that's everything I need to do with Trigger for the moment. He's all yours!)

(me? Or Roserade? Not quite sure where I would go with this right now.)

"Don't tempt me," Arca sneered. Alyss gave her a scolding look. Adler chirped.

"Can't catch me! he declared as Alyss managed a giggle. Adler was just a baby.Loran laughed. Ash smirked and gently pat Vulpix.

(OOC: Garet was who that was directed at. I should have made it clear. But you or Roserade could use him, I mean, if you wanted to... He's a minor character of a minor character, so he isn't really important. Not for a while, until I decide that Vulpix needs more developement at any rate.)

"Want to bet!" Amber shouted at the bird. She was only a few weeks old herself, and was having quite a lot of fun with this game!
"Hah! There's no way you could take me! I'm too hot for you to handle!" Vulpix said boastfully. Thomas sighed and shook his head, laughing. But it was true, Vulpix was very tough. Vulpix sounded like he was having a good time. Marcus laughed at the antics of the two pokemon that were playing together, and at Vulpix's boasts. Robby looked at Thomas.
"I should thank you, your backlash earned me 20 bucks!" Robby said.
"You're welcome!" Thomas said, still laughing.

(OOC: I'm guessing this is all going on while Zoran and Karen are presumably battling? Or would it be better if it happened before the battle? I've tried not to have my characters pay attention to Zoran and Karen right now, because I'm not sure. If this is all during the battle, just assume my characters give whatever cheers they would give at the appropriate moments.)

"I don't need to fly!" Amber said. She leapt into the air again, and Esper caught her and made her go even higher, so that she landed on the bird. She had Alder pinned in the ground under her and she glared at Esper.
"Hey! That's cheating!" Amber said, letting Adler up so he could fly away and resume their game.
"Heh, I'm sorry," Esper said laughing.

Vulpix grinned back at Arca.
"Yes! That was a challenge! What are you going to do about it!" he said. He didn't make a move though. He wanted to hear her response first.
"We have to keep amused somehow! Any way, you want in on Vulpix vs Arca? I'll give you three to one odds that Arca will lose!" Robby said with a smile.
"Why so low for Arca?" Thomas asked genuinely curious.
"Simple! Vulpix and Arca are of a similar level, though Arca has a slight level lead. But Vulpix has the type advantage! There is no escaping that!" Robby said Thomas chuckled. Marcus shook his head. Vulpix vaguely considered letting Arca win, just to prove Robby wrong. He discarded the idea. If Arca won, he'd never hear the end of it.

(Dunno how the battle's going but let's go with that.)

Adler squawked and flew ahead, laughing in his own way. Arca shrugged, thinking it over. She wanted to but it wouldn't be all that fun. Besides, she knew one of Alyss' team who needed some work. "Alyss, why don't you call him out?" Alyss blinked innocently, then pulled out a Pokeball. He was slow but sturdy and he was faster with that strange trinket she had found in the forest.

"Okay," she said softly. "Come out Adan." She released a little silver and black Pokemon, an Aron. It blinked at its new surroundings before blinking at Vulpix. It waved a small "paw" in greeting, assuming it was time for a battle.

Vulpix sighed. He had been hoping to battle Arca, not more training. But he stood up and walked down the steps. He sniffed the Aron curiously. He had never seen one before. But, if they wanted him to train this Aron, he wasn't going to go easy on him. He smiled at the Aron when it waved at him. At least this one was friendly.
"Nice to meet you!" he said as nicely as he could. He didn't want it to hold a grudge when he beat it senseless. Steel types tend to get very large, if Razor was proof. He still didn't know where the big steel turkey got the strength to carry three humans, and himself, for an hour, and still be ready to battle! He shrugged at the thought, and got ready for battle, with his customary smirk on his face.

"Nice to meet you. I am Esper. It is easy to tell how you are doing when you are fighting Vulpix. The look on his face. If it is as it is now, then you are doing poorly. If he is snarling and looks mad, you are winning. Remember that," Esper said to Adan. He watched Amber continue chasing Adler around, laughing to himself. Those two were sure having fun! But he preferred to stay where he was. Thomas was still petting him, and he was enjoying every minute of it.

Adan looked at Esper and nodded, guessing what he was saying. He glanced at Alyss, who nodded, a strangely stern expression coming over her young face. "I'm ready Alyss," he said quietly, fingering the strange claw around his neck. "Just tell me what to do."

"Dragon Rush," she ordered softly. He nodded, body surrounded in a light blue light. He charged at Vulpix, testing the waters, so to speak. Adan was strong but he wasn't ready to evolve yet. He had been bred for battle, similar to Amber, except it was as a tank. He could take many more hits than Arca ever could.

Vulpix lazily jumped to the side and blasted a Flamethrower at the Aron. He was pretty slow, at least for now, but he could be hiding it. Vulpix doubted that. Vulpix was pretty sure that this was about as good as this fight was going to be. He still had that cocky grin/sneer on his face. If this battle wasn't going to be spiced up, then why should he take it seriously?

Thomas leaned his head back. Despite what he said earlier, he was indeed begining to fall asleep. He didn't want too, but what else could he do? He was very tired. He didn't think he'd be able to do well in a battle. But if he was attacked for some reason, Esper was smart enough to command his other pokemon. And his friends were all there and wouldn't let anything happen to him anyway. He was asleep a few moments later.

Ash sighed. finally the idiot was out cold. She quickly put up a barrier. Alyss had turned away from the fight, playing with Arca again. She was going to let Aron handle it for now. The little Pokemon grinned and shook off the Flamethrower. That move almost never worked! Adan moved, leaping into the air and slamming fiercely into the ground. "Earthquake!" the little Pokemon cried with joy as the ground cracked beneath his feet. Alyss giggled. Adan was such a fun Pokemon. Arca huffed and laughed at the same time.

Vulpix leapt into the air a split second after Adan did, thus landing after the worst of the Earthquake was done. He still took some damage, but it wasn't really that much.
"Hah! You don't get where I was in the RDM without learning how to get around type disadvantages! Now, Flamewheel!" Vulpix yelled happily. He ran at Adan, then engulfed himself in spinning fire, shooting straight at the Aron. This may be more fun than he thought! Of course, he always thought that when he was in the heat of battle!

Adan seemed to smile, then he ran at Vulpix. At the last second though, he dodged left and spun an Iron Tail into Vulpix's face. The Aron liked to fight but he wasn't one to get excited about things, not unless Alyss was in danger. "You don't survive Dawn training," the Pokemon stated seriously. "Without surpassing your limits." Alyss glanced out of the corner of her eyes at the battle and went back to playing with a recently released Zanna.

Vulpix saw this and moved to the right. The Iron Tail hit him in the side, but he ignored it, and plowed right into the Aron. He leapt into the air, and burst from the Flamewheel. He landed a few feet away, with a grin.
"Hah! I don't know what kind of training you've been through, but the RDM puts you through the toughest training I've ever seen. And it's even harder if you become a Deviser, like I was!" Vulpix said. There was no way the Aron could win. Vulpix was the elite, a different caliber of pokemon, and he loved to prove it. That's what he had been bred to do, and he loved it. He loved testing his skills against those with different training and backgrounds than he had. That way he could learn from them. This was what he lived for! Even if he lost, he would still be satisfied! Though, he didn't intend to lose. Not to anyone! He blasted another Flamethrower at his slower and more defensive opponent. He had a few other moves. He didn't want to use Dig, because Adan would just use Earthquake. He hated being under ground when that happened. But Flash, that may come in handy later.

Adan sat down on his haunches and closed his eyes. He concentrated and then moved, a small blur as he rushed toward Vulpix before appearing inches above him. He dove on him with the Earthquake, blue eyes unmoved. "I was trained against Alyss," the Pokemon told him with a firmness. "I was trained to make my human break, even in places where I should have lost. There are no ranks; only the arrogant dead and the humble living." Alyss shook her head. Adan took his duty way too seriously. She didn't mind what he had done. Zanna rolled her eyes. God Adan was a stiff in fighting.

Vulpix grinned at the Aron bearing down on him. He opened his mouth, and instead of fire, a concentrated beam of light blasted into Adan's eyes. That would be enough to make anyone hesitate a fraction of a second, and that was all Vulpix needed. He leapt on to the Aron's back.
"Good! Then you might actually be a good oppnent for me! Because what you call arrogance in me is really skill!" Vulpix whispered to the Aron. He blasted Adan with his most powerful Flamethrower, at point blank range, which let him seep up some of the heat into himself, and then leapt off again. Vulpix knew he was getting to him, and his confident smirk still hadn't left his face. He was taking damage. He had felt that Earthquake even through the steel type's body. But it wasn't any danger yet.
