    The Coming Storm

    Team Rocket has once again taken control of Silph Co, and this time, maybe all of Kanto. Silph Co is now the world's most powerful organization, and their power extends into every trainers life. As a result, Saffron City is completely owned by Rocket-Silph Co. and entering the city is very hard to do for KLA members or regular trainers. Silph Guards patrol the streets of every city in Kanto, forcing citizens to sing the Team Rocket motto under penalty of pokemon battle.

    Silph Co. also control every pokemon center in kanto, denying medical attention to trainers that dont swear alliegance to Team Rocket. Their newest batch of experiments involve injecting element types into pokemon that would normally never use them. A tragic incident occured when a Silph Co. scientist infused a koffing with fire type abilities, which was then stolen from the lab and used to destroy most of Viridian city (a large anti-rocket town). A new weather modification plant has also been built next to the power plant on Route 10, which harnesses the powers of imprisoned articuno, moltres, and zapdos to control the weather.

    After this event, the people of Kanto had enough. Trainers from every city organized in Pewter City to start an uprising, fighting back against the oppressing rule of Silph-Rocket, and attempting to stop the type-switcher before completion.     This new organization is called the Kanto Liberation Army.

    Will the KLA succeed in stopping Silph-Rocket from further destroying the delicate balance of nature, or is it too late?


    This is a PG-17 RP, (nearly) anything goes! I frown upon rating as to allow everyone a chance to play, but im sure if you keep it mature others wont mind.


    PLAYERS:

    You can be part of the KLA (Kanto Liberation Army) or SR (Silph-Rocket Co.). Your character starts with up to 3 Pokemon but may obtain more in-game.

    KLA players have a new PDA developed by Bill and Oak, giving players the ability to withdraw and deposit pokemon anywhere, anytime. KLA players will start in Pewter city.

    SR players are assigned Atmosponders, giving them the ability to manipulate the weather in the area around that player (for instance if you are in a battle in Viridian forest, you can make it rain/snow in viridian forest only). SR players will start in Saffron city.

    RULES:

    This is a R/B/Y Pokemon Roleplay. Only Kanto, 151 pokemon, etc. permitted.

    Try to keep the good-guy / bad-guy ratio even! If you are a good-natured person in real life, try joining the dark side for once!

    Player battles are encouraged, If a battle becomes deadlocked I will choose a victor according to playstyle and a little bit of chance.

    Background info: Vera Frost lived with her parents in Viridian City for 17 years. Her parents owned a small florist's on Route 2, and her brother worked in Silph Co. long before Team Rocket took over. Vera's power-hungry elder brother didn't hesitate to join TR, as they saw his potential as both a Pokemon Scientist and competent battler. Coming from an Anti-TR city like Viridian, Vera's brother had a falling out with his father and was forbidden from his own hometown, much to the distress of his parents.
    Following what they considered to be the loss of their only son, Vera's parents became increasingly over-protective of their daughter, disallowing her to begin her journey with the Charmander she had been given as a child and the two Pokemon she'd befriended when travelling between cities, delivering flowers to customers.
    It was upon returning from one of these deliveries that Vera's journey truly began. On arriving home, Vera saw the beautiful city of Viridian reduced to cinder and rubble, the purple smog doing very little to obscure the horrific turmoil that lay around her. Vera's home was reduced to ash, her parents nowhere to be found. After an extensive search found no results, Vera felt certain that the only way she would ever find out what happened to her parents would be to become a part of the resistance. With no possessions to pack, Vera left for Pewter City, armed with nothing but the only family she had left.

    Trainer Goals: Vera had once dreamed of becoming a Pokemon Champion, but these dreams came to an abrupt end when she vowed to locate her parents, avenge her town, and find her brother. Vera had been close to her brother before his joining of Team Rocket, and so she blamed the organisation for the breaking up of her family. Vera aims to defeat Team Rocket, rescue her brother from their clutches and hopes to find a sign that her parents escaped Viridian in time.

    Background Info:

    Tobias is a 24 year old Trainer who lived in Vermillion City and worked as one of Giovanni's personal Bodyguards. When the occupation started, Tobias left Team Rocket and attempted to leave Kanto by boat. His boat was found by Team Rocket and then Tobias was placed in a work camp outside of Saffron City.
    After 7 months of painstaking work, Tobias lead a loyal group of Detainees against the Work Camp. After a brief firefight, Tobias and the detainees escaped the Camp.
    Tobias heard about the resistance from a fellow detainee and Tobias traveled to Pewter City with nothing but a burned and scratched work suit.
    He was enlisted into the KLA and rose up the ranks of the resistance very quickly and soon became known for his ability to complete the biggest tasks.

    Trainer Goals:
    Tobias' goal is to gain revenge on Team Rocket. He wants the Scientist in charge alive at all costs. This is so Tobias can finish him off personally.

    Appearance: Ahmar is tall with light brown skin and dark brown, wild hair. Usually, his hair is long and flowing down to his collar with spikes here and there. He has a slightly thin face with thick eyebrows and a small goatee. He usually wears an olive green sweatshirt and faded blue jeans with white and red sneakers. A metal chain hangs around his neck and chest.
    Personality: Ahmar is sneaky and a bit rude, but he's smart and strategic in battle. He can be loving towards his friends and Pokemon, but he has only a few friends. But because he isn't much of a social person, Ahmar cares little about that. He's confident in his abilities, and isn't above manipulating others to accomplish his own agenda. However, he cares deeply about any major trauma that affects people, and is willing to fight for what he believes. For as long as he can remember, he has been accumulating money to someday pay for a university education.
    History: Ahmar grew up in Fuschia City, mowing lawns for money. When he was 11 years old, he met a Bellsprout that had escaped from the zoo, and raised it as his own. Later, it evolved into Weepinbell and helped Ahmar rake in cash by burning long grass with corrupting acid to clear lawns. Ahmar treated Weepinbell as his equal, and after obtaining Eevee and Krabby, he began to battle other trainers as a hobby.
    However, one afternoon, Ahmar was reading the newspaper as he often did and saw that Viridian City had been destroyed. Ahmar quickly traveled to Pewter City to join the KLA with as many items as he could carry in his bulging knapsack, hoping to avenge those affected by the disaster.
    Trainer Goals: Ahmar wants to make right the disaster in Viridian City, and make Team Rocket pay for their foul deeds. Of course, he expects to get paid for his service in the KLA, and hopes his Pokemon can gain experience in the process.

    Background info: When she was little, she worked with her dad in team rocket. She loved playing with the pokemon there. As she was growing up, her dad quit team rocket. Then they came to her house and attacked her and her family. They took her away from her parents. She was little when this happened. They trained her to be apart of team rocket. Now they had her join the SR. She doesn't remember anything that happened to her, she just knows she has a job and that is to help SR.

    Trainer Goals: She wants to help Silph-Rocket acheive their goals. She wants to be
    the strongest person on Team rocket and the SR. She wants to make the experament work. And she wants to find an answer to all of her quistions.

    The Game Master stated that you can only use the original Pokemon, so i am guessing you can not use Lucario.

    ...Wasn't Viridian the Rocket's home city in the games by way of being Giovanni's Gym? Why on Earth would they be the most ANTI Rocket city? :P

    Either way I'd love to join, but I'm not gonna waste my time if the GM isn't going to sign online again. If one of you can get permission to take control of the RP, I'm all in.
     
    Since obavijest hasn't signed in for quite some time, one of you can take over the RP. At least until the real GM comes back.
     
    @ORegan - Maybe after the antics of Team Rocket were revealed, the town rebelled and Giovanni was forced to leave, the gym ending up under Blue's power? :P

    I have experience with controlling RPs, but electric should be the GM if they want to, as I have yet to finish my SU and they posted their character well before me.

    I'm writing my SU currently btw, and will edit this post when it's done

    It is settled then, electric is GM, and here is my SU, as promised.

    Pokemon: Zubat (15), Rattata(10), Rapidash (40)

    Background info: Zach was born to a small farming family north of the Safari Zone, but from a young age, he always felt in his heart that the life of a farmer was not for him, and that he was destined to be elsewhere...anywhere... as long as it was exciting. With dreams of being rich and famous, he left the farm, stealing one of his father's Rapidashs, and heading out into the 'real world.'

    Without a dime to his name and no actual ambition or goal passed getting away from home, he wandered the streets. Numerous times the thought of selling the Rapidash for quick coin crossed his mind, but each instance was dismissed as he knew the Pokemon would prove useful some day.

    One cold autumn night, Zach came across a campfire, the smoke filling the air with the bittersweet aroma of food. Like a starving dog, he was drawn to the scene, and saw many men in black uniforms feasting on Tauros meat. After a small conversation with the men, who introduced themselves as members of Team Rocket, Zach was convinced to join them as they promised safety, food, and adventure by joining thier ranks.


    After some crude training in the life of a grunt and a small initiation alongside other would-be Rockets, Zach was officially admitted into the large team, and given two Pokemon, both of which were given to grunts who did not already have a Pokemon team of their own.


    Goals: To be the very best.....also to make money and gain fame

    Ahmar breathed deeply the fresh Pewter City air, feeling a light breeze run through his hair. The sunset here is amazing, he thought. The orange sun cast beams of light on everything, and the clouds appeared almost pinkish.

    An electronic door whirred open behind him, and Ahmar turned his head to see a young woman with black-rimmed glasses walk out. He quickly recognized her as the secretary for the KLA, or Kanto Liberation Army.

    "Mr. Koutan, the Board will now see you," she said before disappearing into the building.

    Ahmar looked up at the large gray structure that was once the Pewter Gym and now served as the KLA headquarters. He walked into the building as the door closed and headed for a staircase in the corner. Man, they've made some big changes to this place, he thought as he climbed the stairs and opened a door at the top.

    Inside, seated around a large table, were seven men. One of them was a face everybody in Kanto recognized: Professor Oak, the top authority for the subject of Pokemon. Ahmar smiled nervously and slipped his hands into his pockets. "So, uh, I'm Ahmar Koutan, and I, uh, registered to join the KLA," he said.

    One of the men seated stood up, grinning. "We can use all the help we can get, Ahmar. Sure, you're in. Just let me tell you what you'll be doing. You'll have to fight against Silph-Rocket to protect the balance of nature, at risk of their capturing and imprisoning you. You're sure you want to do this?"

    "Yeah!" cried Ahmar, with fire in his eyes.

    Professor Oak rose and announced, "Good. Then you, Ahmar Koutan, are the newest KLA Trainer. Here," reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small device and handed it to Ahmar and continued, "is your PDA. You'll find it very useful, since all Pokemon Centers in Kanto have come under Silph-Rocket control. With the PDA Bill and I developed, you can store and withdraw your Pokemon."

    "Sweet," Ahmar said. "Thanks. I won't let you guys down!" he shouted and left the room with a new fire in his soul.
     
    Vera sighed, her hands in her pockets. Pewter City seemed cold to her, the stone walls foreboding and uninviting. The grey city held none of the warmth that Viridian had, and it would never feel like home to her.
    She was leaning against the wall of the building in which the KLA members congregated, casually looking through her PDA. The Charmeleon next to her basked in the remaining daylight, which was fast disappearing behind the buildings.
    Vera yawned and ran a hand through her hair. She was sure she should have been doing something more productive, but the KLA had been too busy initiating new members to give her a specific task. However, the night was young, and there was a promise of SR activity in the air.

    Vera propelled herself off the wall, and walked around the front of the HQ building, colliding with a tall boy of her age who practically oozed excitement.

    "Sorry." She mumbled, recognising the unmistakable air of a new member. "And y'know, good luck."
