As you can see from my top 8 artists, I'm a very big Pop person. I don't think there's any true definition to "real music." How can any person's definition of what music is apply to another person. Tastes vary from person to person. For one person to try to define music as a whole is mindboggling to me. It makes me rage when someone tells me "BRITNEY SUX. SHE DOESNT WRITE HER OWN MUSIC (which by the way, she does have a hand in writing her own music - not saying she does it all on her own. She knows her limitations as a songwriter and knows in order to create the most commercially appealing music, she needs the help of those who are experts in writing music) SHES NOT A REAL MUSICIAN BLAH BLAH BLAH." My own definition of music is something that makes me feel good. And so what if someone didn't write their own music - someone else did. Another person put thought and work into the lyrics. Who cares if they aren't the ones always performing it - the lyrics are still the work of someone.

On the topic of Britney's miming. Pop artists have never been known for voice strength (save Christina, but even she has her off nights). When a pop artist performs live, the voice isn't the most important part. It's the song and performance that really matters. So miming is needed for the artist to focus on the other aspects of the performance. I know for some of you more inclined to rock music that you'd much rather see a band playing live and such, we as pop fans would rather have a grand spectacle of dancers, stories, and special effects.

tl;dr: There are over 6 billion different definitions of music in the world - don't try to define it for everyone.

You definitely don't want to meet my roommate....He's very musically biased. =P

But I do agree...Music is what you make of it, not what someone tells you it is. Even though I have a particularly strong distaste for music styles besides the ones I like, I try to be respectful of everyone else's choices. I'm into a lot of metal myself, and I really hate when people are like "EWw It's just screaming how can u listn to dat???!1!"....Well, everyone has their preferences, so shut the hell up =]

ABOUT WHAT???

Hm...
Well, There are always the Jerry Springer mains for debates...

what do you think?

ROFL, those kinda debates would be interesting, but I'm not to keen on them.

Even tho some artists mime, there are some that don't, such as Kylie Minogue, Madonna (I think) and Celine Dion, then there are those who mime and do it badly, such as Ashley Simpson:D,,

But I have to say, I like live concerts more if it's "LIVE", if the artist is not miming.

And if the celebs don't have the voice they surtenly have the looks, so how about they try acting;),

I am a rock fan and I have been to a few concerts. Linkin Park live is amazing. They can do a strong vocal as well as a good performance. It may not be as good as the popy performers but at least they are actually singing the songs. I would feel completely ripped off if I went to a concert and all they did was mime. I could by the CD and it would be the same just without the atmosphere and to me the atmosphere to me doesn't give as much as listening to a live performance.

That play list has got to be the gayest thing I have seen in my life. xD

Other than the gay boy at my school ofcourse.

He may well do. The one at my school runs with arms flailing all over the place and he talks in a girly voice. Someone that listens to that much camp music has to be same person, right?

My taste in music is all over the place. I listen to classic rock, country, ska, jazz, techno, musicals, pop, classical, and whatever else I happen to find. It doesn't even have to have lyrics, instrumental is fun, too. I'm not fond of most hip hop and rap, but I do find some enjoyable songs those genres on occasion, too, though names escape me right now. I like things eclectic -- why limit yourself?

There are eight songs on my computer. Mostly Brad Paisley, plus one Drood song and one Cheap Trick song. I nuked my songs to clean house and never really started to add anything back. Oops. |D

I don't have a play list. I am way to lazy to do one. All I have is my last FM page. But some of the music on there is my sisters. I will have to do a play list sometime. Of course it will include every single Linkin park song<3

https://totalnetworks.org/~audy/playlist.html

Playlist generated! :D It's only about half, since I'm in the middle of redoing my library and organizing things.

YAY. Born to be a Winner is something I listen to whenever I need to be pumped. It works fo sho. XD

ZOMG. Audy, you have like every tune from Ocarina and Majoras Mask. ::steals:: That's so awesome. You also have quite a lot of Japanese and anime music, which is fun.

I also put that Aly and A.J. CD on my Christmas list. Whee! Yeah, they're good IMO, you can easily jam to Chemicals React or Like Whoa.

Excuse you, but you're bordering on being rude and I don't appreciate it. I am gay, but I'm far from acting "flamboyant" and "flailing my arms about." Ausaudriel and I have a little joke between us, hence why he's saying I've hit a new level of gay (by the way, you're still gayer than me Audy >:o).

I do enjoy some of the music on your playlists Erica and Audy.

That's not to say in front of a community with people such as him...
Hey what, Luke goes to your school? :O Wow, who knew! |D

*exports Winamp library for everyone to see*

.. it's slow because there's like a ton of songs. 8(
Luke... uh... who's Luke? Like... do you maybe live in Michigan, talking about the gay Luke that's a sophmore?

That's kinda rude... although it can sound annoying...

I sense some ass-whupping approaching us.

I know what you're talking about.
Since kids are dumb (ROFLCOPTOR),
Everyone in my school expects every gay person being a flamboyant "OMG, U LOSER GET OUTTA MY PINK WEARING PRESENCE"
(When in actuality, I've heard a bunch of stories about jock-like guys actually being closeted not-so-straightsexuals *This is the term now for anyone who is even in the slightest attracted to same sex* coming out to thier friends)

And there is no Bisexual anymore, appearantly.
It's rather Gay, or Straight, or Bio.
Yes, Bio.

Appearantly, Bisexuality is a type of Biology subject. >>"

I sense some ass-whupping approaching us.

brb, Getting popcorn.

Hm... new topc pl0x
I don't like talking about sexual orientation that much
Cause I'll usually say something and someone will take it the wrong way, so...

Anyone here live in Michigan?

...Um, k.
As long as you don't say anything badly-worded, it's not going to be taken the wrong way.

I live in Connecticut, actually.
And HATE it here >.<"

Didn't mean to be rude back then. Wasn't meant to sound like you acted that way. Was meant in a joky way.

I don't live anywhere near all of you. I live all the way over in england.

That's weird, since there is a gay kid at out school named Luke (But I hate him, he's the biggest ass around)

geh... how exactly is he a jerk?
what does he do to get a punch in the face?

Hehe, I tried to talk to him (Although I didn't know he was gay at the time, I just thought he was some sort of pimp that got all the girls =P) and he was all stuck up and crap.
He was a jerk to my friend as well.

So now I make fun of him and crap, because he deserves it. I humiliated him in front of like 50 people at school in the lunch room, and he sat down, and shut up.

Me and my friend couldn't stop laughing at it...
Anyways...

Pokémon Platinum coming March 22, 2009!

Ugh. I hate to see that kind of stuff.

So, what did you do to humiliate him?
I wanna know!
