Oh, that's the difference between English speaking people and Swedish speakers! Family for me is just the people I live with, the rest are my "relatives". I believe you call your close relatives family too? Or I have just made assumptions of people who are different than meself again ._. XD

Christmas should be a family thing ^^ But I'm probably seeing some friends on Christmas day... but one of them is almost, like, almost my potential boyfriend (at least that's what HE thinks) so it's almost family, no? XD-ness

msn is great for most things. I addeded you, but you're never there when I am ;_; (at least I think I added you) But maybe that's my fault, since I'm almost never on.
What you call relatives, I would call family. Although family members such as Mother, Father, brothers, etc, I call immediate family. :3

I don't usually see my friends on Christmas because they're with their families. I probably will see them Boxing Day though. :D
Haha, potential boyfriend - go for it, you minx. ;D

You did add me and you're probably never on. I'm practically always on.

I have a aim and msn, but I never seem to use it.

I'm going to be spending Christmas with my family:D, I'll probably go to my grandmas for Christmas day and meet some of my relatives there:D.

XD What is a minx? Noo, not go for it... you shouldn't take whatever comes along. Have to be picky. Muwahaha. Maybe that's why I never get a pair here T_T Or it could be I'm not making any effort in getting one XD

Immediate family. Long term ^^ Yeah, that's the normal case, friends are with family too. I could never see friends in Christmas Eve (24th is when we celebrate the whole thing in Sweden), that'd be like breaking a law XD

MSN is a great way to talk to my friends. It's much convenient than calling for me because; a. I'm a cheapie and b. I find IMing much easier. :D

I love spending time with my family on Christmas. It's definitely a family holiday - and is my favourite holiday of the year. ♥

Don't worry, it's just a thing my friend says. :3 But remember Fabuhl, pairs aren't everything on PC. It's good you haven't gotten set on getting a pair.

Some of my friends I'd consider family, but only because I'm so close to them. All my friends have met about 2/3 of my family members, so it wouldn't be totally cool to claim them family. XD

We open the gifts in Iceland on the 24th, that's kinda the top of the cherry for me:D, after that it's just nice food and meeting family.

I open the gifts 24th and have a turkey, we go to my grandma's the 25th and meet some of my relatives, and my grandma makes Christmas's food, then we celebrate the 26th, it's called the second in Christmas with more nice food, then we celebrate the 31st with nice food and then the 1st and then the 6th:D.

Oh Christmas time is just visiting relatives. My time in the Philippines was a LOT MORE EXCITING AND FUN! With the fireworks...late night gift opening (Till 4 AM!) Noche Buena ("Good Night" but means a feast at midnight for us in Christmas Eve). Now here in the US it's boring...no traditions, just gift giving and visiting. (And my parents are sooo strict)

Fable thanks for the pat...I needed that emotionally...School and chores are just so...D=

Eh I prefer Yahoo Messenger though. =/ I just got used to it...But even then I don't use it anymore since my Mom hijacked my old email address. D=<

Haha, I use AIM (iChat) here; the video feature on Macs is so much nicer than my Dell or HP had. Plus iChat just let me upload all my messenger features from AIM right onto it, so I talk the same way I did before. Woo.

We open our gifts on Christmas morning, all except maaaaaybe matching pajamas for me and my brother on Christmas Eve. XD We haven't gotten those the past two years, though.

Can we maybe change to the topic to reputation points?

I'm 13 points way from having 2 green bars:D, and the points I give are worth 3 points:D,

(When will it go up again? I mean it went up when I went over 500 posts then when my count went up again when I got over 30 points given, when will it go up again?)

I will be giving reputation points for every intelligent answer I get ;)

I'm not savvy at all with rep points, so ehh, plus rep is something that should be given and not spoken of. ;)

So I'm curious to ask, for those of you in Canada/Europe/Asia/Aussielandxtremez0rz, what do you guys do for cars? I mean, how common/uncommon is it for teenagers/folks in their 20s to own cars and what kinds?

From what I've seen/heard, most cars in England are tiny compared to some of the bleh we use over here in the States. I for one have a nice low Saturn that's kinda sporty looking. Since I live in...a place where I can't walk to and fro buildings, I have to own a car for school/work/etc. Eh..I'd rather not have to worry about gas money, but overall I guess it's nice to go someplace when I want to. I would do a bus or something, yet the bus system in our town is really terrible, they need updates like...a lot.

It might go up if u say something some1 thinks is cool or something, they'll give u rep points that way. I think ur deserving of points.

The reputation system is much, much older than some of you may think. Hell, it was around when I joined up, and that was over three years ago. They eventually discontinued it sometime in 2006-2007, I think; hell if I know the exact timeframe. Apparently, the administration has seen it fit to reintroduce it, and personally, I'm not much in favor of it. Back in the day, it was very prone to abuse, and I would believe that it would be even more so today; sure, there are people who can use the system in a worthwhile manner, but such people are few and far between.

Regarding the topic of car ownership in foreign countries, I only really know the Philippines. From what I've been told and from what little I remember firsthand, trucks and SUVs are common and practical choices for those who can afford them, particularly given the rural nature of a good portion of the country.

I missed rep during its downtime; I'm glad to see it back and abuse hasn't been too rampant or anything. Most people misusing it just shape up once we get on their case about it.

As for cars... I guess a fair few people have them here. :/ It's not uncommon, but I don't personally know anyone who owns a car. Especially with insurance rates and gas before the price dropped recently, it was about the same price to just take public transit. Probably less. @_@;

I do have to pay for my own gas ($1.76 a gallon right now makes Ryan a happy person), but my parents take care of the insurance. :P

And now i'm off to the gallows (Target!) Haha.

I'll probably have to... fill up... my car again today T_T (what the hell is "tanka" called in English then??)

Prices are much lower now than before though. Thank lord I didn't have to pay for my own gas until recently :D

Tanka? It's pretty much the same here; you fill up your "tank". :P

Gas prices are still low here and they're supposed to stay low for a while yet, thankfully. n_n; The $1.20/L we reached here was just ridiculous.

Wow multiply that by 4 to get the gallons and..(O_O) $4.80! ZOMG That's just about as much as we paid here in California! (Possibly due to the "cleaner" mix we use.) =/ But the problem with falling gas prices is the massive public incentive for energy independence is lost. =/ and Prez-Elect Obama and a lot of the well informned peeps really wants that Energy independence program started. D=
He really said that in his interview with Time (oohh he's Time's Person of the Year ^_^) He also lines out what to criticize him against after 2years. XD Such confidence! =P

People are kinda stupid if they lose incentive for alternate energy research just because gas prices are falling. They're just going to go back up again once the world's economy recovers. The problem didn't go away just because we're paying 1.78 or whatever =/

I can't wait until we get electric cars on the road. Not having to pay for gas will be nice =P

Well we are talking about the Average American here who just wants to be left alone. =/ No offense but let's be realistic. But just paying for Electricity bills and not worrying about gas is great! I prefer Flying Hydrogen Powered cars though. XD

Edit:
By the way, Lightning I love the Christmas hat on your avatar:D

=O I didn't even notice that...I'm not paying attention! He didn't change themes so yeah...XD
