I second that. Sometimes the books lag and I found myself skipping some pages to get to good bits. As per usual, like many films, the first book was better than the sequels ;___;

That is right, yes. The first book's storyline all fits together, but after that they all turned into stories which we've heard before ><"
 
Has anyone read any of the Artemis foul books?? a new one recently came out..
 
Sad, isn't it? I don't think it was intentionally written with six sequels in mind, but of course the author's trying to recreate the success. v_v And it's slowly getting worse. Rather like Madonna.

I just bought the sixth one and finished it. I'd say it's probably the second best Artemis Fowl book, next to the first book in the series.

Nah, Eoin Colfer was not planning on five follow-on novels but that's what happens. The first three were okay in terms of reality but it got too surreal from the fourth book onwards.

Anyways, I just realised that old Daily Chit-Chat threads got about twleve thousand posts a month, such as this one. Yeah, I don't really have a reason for pointing that out, I just thought it was interesting.

Two members were banned, then pardoned. One become a mod, then stepped down and became inactive. Two left of their own volition; one of them resurfaces every once in a while. The last one currently holds the title of moderator.

Such a sad but true fate. I think of what everyone's doing now and then :\
 
PC is way too strict these days for anything similar to the "DCC Mafia" to arise.

It's strange how things like that work out, huh?
Some left, one got promoted, etc. Destiny is a strange thing. :/
 
Destiny isn't strange, it can however be annoying or confusing xD

I have never heard of this Mafia thing, pity i must have missed something big xD
 
Believing in destiny is basically the only thing that gets me through the day. XD;
 
Well, you have to believe in something to get you through your life, eh?
I have no religious ties, however; I do believe destiny and karma shape our everyday actions. ;D

Oh yesh. Karma. That's why... the worst thing I say to people is "fall in a hole", since... karma is bad.

Karma can be quite good as well, Nica. If you are kind and helpful to those around you, pretty soon there are people who are kind and helpful to you in return. It's a system of checks-and-balances and I just love it. ;D
(Truely, if everyone believed in Karma... the world might be a better place, but that is just my two cents.)

She says that she loves all of you and that coconut milk is delicious.

Anyway, good karma is better than bad karma, but no karma is better than both. You're supposed to be selfless, not go out and help people to get more karma XD
