My parents don't even know I watch anime, as far as I told them, they think I watch lectures most of the time XD
Those are quite the educational lectures.

By the way, that anime seems to have invented new sex positions.

The other day, my sister was trying to get me to watch an anime show. Our conversation between us and my mother went somewhat like this:

Sister: We can watch it downstairs once mom goes to work!
Mom: You know, you can watch it while I'm here.
Sister: Mom, it's anime.
Mom: ...?
Me: You know, it's in Japanese.
Sister: With subtitles.
Me: Remember how much Ninja Warrior annoyed you?
Mom: Oh. Right. Nevermind.

Also, ONE OF US

Woo, back to the anime chat! :D
Actually, since I finished Angel Beats (and didn't understand it), I've decided to take up some more. Now I'm watching Cardfight!! Vanguard, which seems interestingly enough. It's another card game.
How did you not understand it!?! lol

Angel Beats! was one of the top anime of last year, if not the best! Then again last years new anime were legends compared to this years anime :/

Ooh, nice. I've seen the first few episodes and it's a pretty good show, a little different from most card game anime in that it isn't some epic over the top battle to save the earth (at least to the point I was at) and more grounded in reality.

That's what I really like about the show, any insane aspects are just written up as the imagination of the kids while they deal with their own problems. I watch the show live every now and then waiting for something else to start, but this sort of makes me want to pick it up from where I left off again. That and Battle Spirits Brave because...card games on a battleship? So there.

This thread really is a second J/E isn't it. ^^

Not judging this years yet as this season is good and the next one has potential. Tbh there weren't a lot of good series last year if I recall correctly.

Actually there was quite a few:

Okamisan to Shichinin
Angel Beats!
Amagami SS
Highschool of the Dead
Sekirei ~Pure Engagement~
Seitokai Yu-something

And there was more :0

I never really spent time in Japanese Entertainment, so I couldn't tell. I went there once to ask for a new anime to watch, in which I started watching Gurren Lagann, and realised I'm not that much of a fan of anime with mecha's in them.
I think you could probably find at least one depending on what you're into. The mecha genre is pretty wide, so there's bound to be a single show you could find yourself getting into. And if all else fails, Turn A Gundam is about an awesome a mecha show as you will ever find.

Yeah, I'm not a big mecha fan. Well, I liked Geass, TTGL, Star Driver, FLCL and Infinite Stratos to an extent but yeah, never hat the urge to check out a heavy mecha series.

Seitokai Yakuindomo, Angel Beats and HOTD all got 6 and 7's from me. Star Sriver, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Index, Bakuman, the Haruhi film, HidiSketch and K-On! all got higher scores from me. I'm yet to watch Princess Jellyfish, Shiki, Ika Musume and a couple of others. *Talks self into thinking it was a pretty decent year*

...I really need to get back on Star Driver. I heard it did pretty poorly in DVD sales and ratings and haven't heard a general consensus from people. Also! Turn A Gundam (Again)! It's the least mecha heavy Gundam show out there and plays more like a slice of life show with politics thrown in for the most part, you don't even see the Gundam until the tail end of the second episode...always wondered how they got Bandai to let them do that.

Star Driver is more of a guilty pleasure than my mahou shojo, ecchi sketchy and slushy romance series I like. The plot is average at best, it's predictable but damn it's entertaining.
