I don't know why I try to avoid all those really popular animes. I mean, I don't watch Gurren Lagann, Gundam Seed, Death Note, and so on. Right now, I'm just trying to get into anything which is ongoing and just started. I even found an episode of that raunchy anime Charizard mentioned a few pages back, which I am going to try and bare to watch. It should be interesting.

Also, I might try out Nichijou, and maybe something short.

Nichijou, I'm watching it but I can't say it's even the best "moe moe kyun" slice of life comedy this season. A Channel is actually pretty funny whereas Nichijou is super hit and miss. Of course give it a few eps but I'm just giving an opinion.

If you want a series from this season I can't praise AnoHana, Steins;Gate and Ao no Exorcist enough. C is also pretty high tier in places.

As we're on this topic do any of you read Gantz?

Gantz has it's cute moments and romance in between the aliens, fights with talking dinosaurs that shoot laser beams from their mouths, blood, sex, murder and most other non shojo/romance phenomenon.

I've never heard of Gantz, so I wouldn't know anything about it. But from what you described, I don't think I'd be interested in anything with craptons of paranormal activity or anything like that. I think what I like in an anime is something with does have it's unusual themes, but is pretty much along the lines of being normal, in terms of activity, and how the characters react to things and whatnot.

I've been looking for a good romance series these days, something similar to Amagami SS, Clannad or Rosario + Vampire but I can't find any :/

Oh, it has espers as well. Tbh it's basically a coming age story in which the protag does **** tonnes of badass stuff...you'll either love it or hate it.

You haven't seen Koi Kaze or Spice and Wolf have you Charry? both to the top of my list.

You should try Winter Sonata, really great anime. Though it's...just the slightest bit odd. It's based off a Korean TV show, so they actually got the Korean cast to voice their anime counterparts...in Korean, so the broadcast had Japanese subs on it, then it was released on DVD and people subbed the raw version.

I'm going to download Spice and Wolf for my sister probably sometimes next week, and I'll try Koi Kaze. The art seems a bit new to me tho.

I tried, but for some reason I couldn't get into it, but that was 2 years ago, so I'll try again ^^

It took me a while to get into it myself, but I really enjoyed it once I did. It's a fairly mature story for a romance, sooo it doesn't play with one off character traits a whole bunch. Annnd if that's not for you, Honey and Clover, watch it. I'd call it my favorite romance anime, though it's...incredibly depressing, the story is amazing.
...art style does take some getting used to. XD;

Too new? That's just the promo art I think, it looked like a decent enough 2004 anime to me.

Oh Honey and Clover, I have that ready to watch. I'm not in the mood for anything depressing atm so it'll have to wait mind.

Even more depressing than Clannad? :0

Can't....watch......gahhh D:

I doubt it was re-released in BluRay, can't imagine that being profitable for them at all, It's a bit of a hidden gem I guess.

My dad started playing it during work, and well, you know, "monkey see, monkey do."

I love how you can record songs too <3 /should totally look up masterpiece recordings by other addictees (yes it's not a word but who cares)
