We actually don't have a pool here. D: It really sucks too because the Home Owner's Association is really strict here. >_< We own our house now and yet they are pretty strict on us.

I want a pool because it gets so hot here. So when you are living in Arizona, a pool is like, something you need. XD
Will they let you get an above-ground pool? :( Those aren't as permanent at least. I think.

It depends on the kind of above-ground pool you get. Some last for decades, if you take good care for them. Where I live, we cannot have pools unless we have a closed backyard with a six foot fence. I live near Lake Erie so it doesn't get too bad here.

My best friend over in central California has (had?) a pool. It was pretty big and was very deep/shallow (You couldn't see the bottom of half the pool, 1/4 was barely visible, and the rest was pretty clear).

I didn't know how to swim (And, I hate to admit, still don't), so it wasn't THAT great to me, but it beats a summer in Kansas any time.

Doesn't the Lake Erie area have a lot of mosquitoes? I remember hearing that the lake was once an overgrown swamp, so...

Any of you guys ever been to the YMCA? I actually live a few minutes away from the biggest one in the United States, I don't go there much though.

We used to own a pool. And then it got old and tiring and nobody ever used it anymore, so we disowned it. And then got another one. Repeat reason. Now I don't have a pool anymore cause there's really no need for one anyway.
You never used a pool? That's insane... My parents would kill to have a pool.

My stepdad's 'dream' is to have a pool party while grilling steaks, haha.

Sometimes it's hot up here at night, like around in the 80's up here in the northern part of Minnesota, but in the mornings it's around the 60's and during the day it stays in the 70's.

Nobody here has a pool in their garden, not a proper built-in one anyway. Would be pointless, because of the weather you'd get to use it for one week every year or something =/

Not that it's a problem as I hardly ever go swimming, but if I ever did want to go there's a public pool just around the corner.

I miss having a swimming pool =[

I use to be such a good swimmer, now I think I would just die after a few laps! XD

LOL, i'm pretty much in the same boat. A couple of summers ago I used to go swimming, go for bike rides, play football quite regularly etc, I used to be fairly active.

But i've done nothing for months really, and I seriously doubt i'd be able to ride my bike even just to the shop and back without losing breath XDD
