I actually saved money and bought my own car. I think I appreciate it/take better care of it knowing its my money that went into it. Plus, my parents can't hold it over my head that they bought the car. That's why I prefer buying everything on my own. It's mine and mine alone.

Nah, it's all about the kind of rider you are. You have to be really keen because sadly, a lot of people will not look out for you. A lot of people really don't notice motorcycles, so when you ride, you have be very aware, you can't be complacent.

And they don't cost that much more for insurance. If you're a safe rider, have no accidents, tickets, etc. costs of course stay down. I pay next to nothing for both my car and my bike, but then I'm a very patient and calm driver and I'm well aware of what goes on around me.

That's exactly what I told my mom.

She said 'hell no'.

That sucks. My mom and dad had no problem with it when I asked. My mom had her own motorcycle and my dad just said be careful. :P

As I said before, the statistics for deaths of motorcyclists around here are quite staggering, so it's really not an issue of whether one rides carefully. Insurance companies aren't going to give you a lower quote just because you promised them you'd ride with due care, especially if it's a first vehicle.

Anyways, I love motorcycles. I prefer driving it more than my car. Only thing I'd recommend though to anyone wanting to ride one, please wear the proper attire. People who ride motorcycles in shorts, sandals and a t-shirt are asking for an accident.

I wasn't being rude, I just prefer my variation on it. It makes people do a double take and re-read it to make sure they read it correctly.

They're cool to look at i'm just not a big fan of them! know a few people who have been killed and seriously injured driving um!!
I love cars though. Just so much more comfortable! When i'm going somewhere i like to bring my whole life with me. Which is in a backpack & a backpack will keep dry in a car rather than a motorcycle!
