It's not a really good one though..It is saying that you should really love someone one day a year. That this one day is more important than the rest. It isn't. If you really loved that person, everyday would be your valentines day.
 
V-Day's only one day out of 365 for me. I'm spending it learning two weeks' worth of Physics, yay. \o/ I've never been one to treat it like it's some special day, and "omg I need chocolate and flowers" and all that.
 
Valentines Day is a day for people with girlfriends/boyfriends to rejoice and kiss.
for single people, it just sucks

Well, while PC was down, I got into this game thing called Touhou. And let me tell you, IT IS ADDICTING. A lot of the games remind me a bit of Galaga, with minor changes and whatnot (it's anime-styled girls doing the shooting, not starships or anything of the sort). I've had fun playing it, though I can't play it now since it's on my computer back at my mother's (I flew up solo to my dad's today).

Whoa, hold up. It doesn't suck, we get to rejoice about how we're not stuck in horrible relationships. :D
 
i disagree valentines day always reminds me of how i can never get INTO a relationship.
they arent bad things, at least when you have a girlfriend/boyfriend you can talk your problems out to them, and they will listen and care for you. relationships only suck at the end. at breakup, but who knows, you might go out with somone in high school and stay together for the rest of your life, it would be wonderful.<3
 
Valentine's Day is just a commercial holiday. A way for Ferro Rocher to get it's sales up. A lot of my students get crushed and I have to cheer them up because "they don't have a valentine."

But yeah. All the great holidays with true meaning (Valentine's Day, Christmas, Easter; you get the point) have turned into commercial holidays. And we never stop to think about this. Christmas shouldn't be about getting the presents you want; it should be about celebrating the birthday of our "savior" (well, religious-wise; not many religions share the same idea) or just giving gifts in general. The same with Valentine's Day and Easter. V-Day came from that Valentine guy, who married couples in secret because it wasn't allowed or something like that. Now it's a chocoholic holiday ('course, the same works with Easter).

And I suppose St. Patty's Day is one of the few holidays that isn't exactly a commercial holiday. Thankfully.
 
I've never cared any for Valentine's day. To me, it's just another day. I have never had a girlfriend, valentine, or any of that stuff, so that could be why I've never like it.

Eh, I've never really degraded my current status just because it's a love holiday. I mean, why ":(" when you can just keep trying? Things fall into place eventually, at least that's what I believe, if you keep trying. Rather than be depressed about how you can't be in a relationship on this holiday, look towards the positives. And I disagree how they only bite at the end, you can be in an abusive relationship, another filled with fighting, and plenty of negatives during the relationship.

And friends are there to talk to and care for you as well, so... *shrugs* but I certainly see where you're coming from.

Valentine's day is just a day with emphasis on love towards the one you love, if anyone's actually in a relationship, they should probably treat every single time together like V-day.

I don't mind it. Even if I don't have a crush, I enjoy knowing that other couples can rejoice over their relationship and have a blast. :D

Besides, it's better to wait for the right person than to just rush it so you can brag about how you have a valentine and you can kiss and hug all day.

Meh, that's true. But still...

When you don't have anyone, it really hurts to see everyone in love and so happy together. I know this from personal experience. I can't believe how big of a deal it is to some people. Sure, I usually get a date, but I feel so bad for people who don't. Because they have to see that.
