I agree. It's been years since I've been in a fight, but I have seen them. People aim for visually spectacular strikes, possibly subconsciously, rather than actually damaging ones. :P

I've always found pressure points useful in deterring someone from doing something, though. >:]
 
Lol, that actually makes it sound like I've been in plenty of fights, when in reality, it only has been two. >.>

One 1 on 1 and one 3 on 1...

I suppose it doesn't help them, when I know a bit of martial arts. It helps to know how to punch/kick harder.

I'd imagine though to gain access to pressure points, the receiver would have to not been expecting it?
 
Yeah - you have to have a relatively good feel for where they are. The last thing you want is to say, grab someone's arm and start feeling around in the crease of their elbow until you finally hit the right spot. XD But if you apply the right pressure, it's usually just a short burst of pain, not much effort on your part, and generally causes no lasting injury.

I haven't been in a fight for a while though. Sometimes I am surprised though, because I have walked around by myself (on the way home) late at night, and not been attacked by several people or anything. Not saying I expect it, as I live in a relatively safe neighborhood, but you'd think it a bit more common these days anyway...

All you really have to do though, is show the rest of them, an example made of one of their friends. Assuming they would not defend said friend, seeing the damage, you might get away no problem. XD

Of course weapons is another matter...
 
Generally a gun should usually be enough to deter an attacker without even firing it - guns are unique weapons in the sense that you can shoot them while wounded, and don't require nearly the skill that many other weapons require to use it effectively in self-defence. Of course, depending on your jurisdiction, carrying guns often poses a legal problem. :/
 
I'm not a big fan of tattoos and I'd never get one myself, but one of my close friends does have a really nice, small black butterfly on her back. She has a range of shirts that show it off, and it looks really good.

I'm not big on piercings either. I have each ear lobe pierced just once, which was done when I was 2 years old...all my first school friends were really jealous - a lot of girls weren't allowed them (by their parents) until they were 13.

And I do have two scars - one is on the back of my hand, where my friends once pinned me down in middle school to prod me with bits of broken CD (er, "friends", I mean) and I dragged my hands away and escaped.

The other is from where I had a large mole removed from my lower back. There was nothing wrong with it, I just thought it was unattractive and it would sometimes catch on my clothing. The scar is bigger than the mole was, but eh. It could be a stab wound? xD
 
I have a musical note on my arm and my nose pireced (see my album) I really love my tattoo though.
 
Heyo. Just woke up, saw that I missed the best part of the DCC last night, but Ill go ahead and answer these whatever.

I have many scars, but the biggest one i have is on my neck. I think it is like left over skin I had at birth. It is jut one straight, brown line. Its awesome x3

I, on the other hand, would like to get a tattoo. Probably something very small though, and commerative. I really dont know what though :/

I didn't find the clever bot to be that clever. :/ Though that was in ppart because I was trolling it too.
