What sort of TV show is that? Sounds lame.

I think it does if one says it to oneself a couple of times.
Then again, that's the same with most words.

Have you ever just looked at your finger? Just really looked at it? I have, and found it quite interesting. Fingers are such odd looking things, when you think about it...

Personally, I think you just look too deeply into stuff. Way too deeply.

I'm sure you could come up with many more examples if you wanted to.

I can see what you mean, they tend to draw things that weren't intended from the text.

I always think teachers overthink things in terms of literary works X_x
I concur. It's why I always hated English class.

Teacher: "Here, the author is trying to symbolize..."
Me: "Really? Where in the heck do you even get that from?!?"

Really though, English class should be about grammar, not reading some long book written by some dead guy.

I found that, especially in Junior high english... The tests would sound so subjective, it wasn't even funny.

Choose the best response to what the knife in Macbeth represents:

A. Death
B. Fear
C. Guilt
D. Wrong-doing

Pretty much like that...

I'm taking AP English and my English Teacher says that College english will be the same.

And after taking the Practice HW for Winter break....the questions are like that. @.@

Arcanine, I agree with you. Sometimes you see a person everyday, but then only after a year or something is it until you actually see them, and all there odd features.

And for the current subject...
Ugh, I hate that, everything has to represent something o.o

The upside of the inherent subjectivity of interpreting literature is that there's usually lots of room to BS your way through the whole thing; just make sure you can actually make a convincing case for your own interpretation, and you're set.

Sometimes I try to dig too deep, and then they come out ridicoulous, even though I didnt mean them to be...though my classmates think my answers are profound or something XD
