HEY guys, it's been way too long since I've been active here and I thought why not get involved by making an RP of my own? This has been inspired by an RP I took part in during the Summer of 2012, by {Swan}. It was the most enjoyable and innovative Pokémon RP I was privileged to be a part of. I also want to say a huge thanks to The Last Sentinel for the template (*cough* and understanding how amazing Sylar is *cough*)! I will not be participating myself and will be acting as Game Master. The IC thread should be linked HERE when both threads are released. Rated T for teens as there will be violence throughout.

IT has been 20 years since the events of X/Y have taken place. A group of vile people, known as Team Amethyst, have attempted to capture Rayquaza in the Hoenn region. They were foiled by Landon, the Hoenn Champion and several other trainers. Several years later there was a major disaster in the Kalos region. Yveltal was reborn and the entire city of Lumiose was obliterated, sending shockwaves throughout the Pokémon world. People were afraid, Elite 4 members and Champions had secret meetings to discuss the tragedy. At first Team Plasma were the ones charged for the vile act, however not long after the real culprits came to light.

Team Amethyst, lead by Amara, emerged from the shadows and demanded the attention of the entire globe. In another show of power, Amara had Yveltal destroy Mt. Silver, making transportation between Kanto and Johto near impossible as Tohjo Falls were irreparably damaged. The world had nothing to do but bow down to their new Queen. Unova, being the most powerful region negotiated a treaty with Amara. They had a deal that they would not obstruct each other. However, the other regions fell victim to Amara's tyrannical side and within a few months she had everyone bowing down to her. You either worshipped her, or were locked up, or even killed. In this new world weapons, such as guns, are as commonplace as Pokémon.

In recent times, Archie of Team Aqua, has begun to construct a rebellion. With Giovanni and Maxie assassinated early in Amethyst's dominance, and Lysandre accepting Amara as his leader all seemed lost. However the former Aqua boss concealed himself and managed to survive, long since changing his ways he set out to save the world he so nearly destroyed a long time ago. Along with Shelly, his wife, Archie created A.A.V. or the Aqua Assault Vest, he was insuring he saved the world, or die trying. His location is unknown, however the main base for the A.A.V. is situated where the Safari Zone, located on the west of Cianwood island.

YOUR role will end up being very much up to you. You will have set roles throughout the RP, yet will have freedom to create your own path. If you have any recommendations for your own character, IF accepted then be sure to private message me and we can thrash out some ideas. There will be FOUR spots available for the RP, at least to start with, as I will hopefully be going in depth with each person per chapter. The positions will be listed below;

Amethyst Soldier: You are a low-ranking grunt for the Amythest army, you have had the displeasure of meeting Amara once, and she looked down upon you like the dirt under her Dr. Marten boot. You will be faced with many morale-challenging decisions throughout the Chapters and will have to decide whether to turn on your leaders, or to try rise up through the ranks. How you became a member is your own choice e.g. conscription, to save your family, willingly etc.

High Ranking Rebel: You are a long term friend of Archie, since back in the Aqua days and the great Groudon-Kyogre feud. You kept in contact with your boss, and friend, throughout the time apart and upon the A.A.V. being created, you were among the first to be approached. You will play the role of a leader in the group, and could (should you choose to) take over from Archie in case of need. You may also be the one to sell out your old friend in order to save yourself.

Low Ranking Rebel: You are a newly-recruited soldier and hence, are bottom of the barrel. You have the freedom to be as trained or untrained as you want to be, same goes with competence. You will be expected to put yourself on the line for the good of the cause and will be put in many threatening situations. You don't meet any of the higher-ups during your short time with the A.A.V. before being sent out on your first mission.

Middle Ground: You are uninvolved in the current situation. You are neither an Amethyst member or an A.A.V. agent. You have the most freedom of all members in the RP as you can completely create your character from scratch, whether he/she a sleuth or someone seen as scum and not worth Amethyst's time it's up to you! I would ask you to refrain from joining either side too early but it's your call. Also you *CANNOT* be residing in the Unova region, as that would be little to no fun.

PRETTY basic but still read to make sure!

1) Follow all existing PC roleplaying rules.
2) Please, don't god-mod.
3) Let us know if you'll be inactive.
4) Make your reply as long as you possibly can.
5) I will decide if you capture the Pokémon or not, leave the ball rocking at the end of your comment.
6) You can decide whether the opponent does or does not faint when facing an NPC (which you can battle at any time).
7) When battling another player, please come to a conclusion of who is to win between yourselves. You can even let the match end in a draw. If you cannot come to a decision, then do not have the battle.
8) This roleplay will take place in chapters. You do not need to keep up with everyone else, or be in the right chapter. However it is advised as if you're not you may miss important events and interaction.
9) This roleplay is not based on levels, therefore you can let your Pokémon learn moves at any time, however try not to be unrealistic. However, I will inform you when your Pokémon is able to evolve, then it is your decision if your Pokémon will evolve or not. Once I've let you know your Pokémon can evolve, you can do so at any time. If you want your Pokémon to evolve let me know, if I think you have a good enough reason (e.g. to defeat the Gym Leader) then I will allow it.
10) You may carry around six Pokémon at a time, like in the anime and games. All other Pokémon must be released as the box systems are down.
11) I will most likely be lenient with requests so don't feel shy to ask about anything you need. If you would like to use a certain Pokémon let me know and I'll make it available in a suitable location.

This looks pretty fantastic! It's been a long while since I've seen a dystopian Pokemon roleplay. If you could, I'd like a reserve, please.

Brandon is a rather handsome young man, standing at about 6'2 and weighing in at around 160 pounds. His slim figure is not as muscular as one would hope, but he most certainly isn't weak. His pale skin is rather odd, considering he comes from a town as sun-blistered as Olivine, but he never went outside very often anyways. He suffers from a case of heterochromia iridum, meaning that his eyes are actually different colors. His left eye is a deep, chocolatey brown while his right eye is a terrifying crimson red. The defect is very rare, and although it doesn't affect sight, it rather off-putting, which just so happens to come in handy in Brandon's line of work. His glasses are usually thick rimmed. While his eyes don't need them terribly (he still has bad eye sight), the glasses have specialized electronic readouts of Konzu's vitals and such. Brandon keeps his long, light brown hair in a neat fashion, but no matter how hard he tries a bunch of hair will stick up here or there. Brandon's apparel typically consists of a dress shirt and a sweater vest of similar colors, as well as darker jeans.

Brandon could be best described as an idealist. While the world around him is crumbling in corruption and violence, he sticks to the straight and narrow. Brandon firmly believes in the words freedom, hope, and justice, and considers himself the physical representation of justice. If there's anything that he loves, it's defeating the 'forces of evil,' as he likes to call the soldiers of Amethyst. He's a fan of the A.A.V, and quite frankly he'd be very willing to work with them to bring down the evil organization, but he refuses to join them directly. He believes that identifying one's self with a specific group adds limitations that prevents one from doing the necessary thing when the time comes for it. Besides. He works better as an individual. Brandon isn't afraid to do what's necessary. He'll kill, he'll steal, he'll fight as long as it all comes out to benefit the "good fight" in the end. While he doesn't consider himself a hero, he's most certainly willing to give his life for his beliefs.

Brandon is actually a rather friendly person once you get to know him. He's almost always seen smiling, and nothing amuses him more than a good or bad joke. His stubborn will and one-track mind are renowned throughout the freedom fighter underground. He likes to make inspiring speeches when the occasion for one comes along, and giving people a reason to stand up and fight is among his favorite pastimes. Despite this, he seems to have an ego, although he hates the fact that he does a good deal, considering that he's all about equality and such. His ego, however, is not necessarily misplaced. He's fairly intelligent and capable as a trainer. He knows his way around the world and quite frankly he's a hell of a cook, but he won't let you know any of it unless you ask directly or the occasion rises for a feast. Maybe one day, once this is all said in done, he can make a feast for all of the heroes that stood beside him in the good fight.

History:
"Well, there's not much to say. I've only survived an attempted genocide and fought crime."

Brandon was born in the lovely beach city of Olivine to caring parents Nick and Jordan Carroway. His father, Nick, was a rather successful banker, while his mother, Jordan, was a retired professional tennis player. Both of his parents were kind-hearted, well-off people, and he never wanted anything in his childhood. He spent the vast majority of his time playing with the neighborhood kids and attending school. He spent a good deal time playing with a wild Munchlax that he would come to catch in the years to come. Brandon and Konzu were the best of friends, and they spent almost every waking moment together. The arrival of team Amethyst would only strengthen their bond even further, and their lust for adventure only grew.

When Amethyst first released Yvetal, Brandon was sixteen years old. He and Konzu were on their way to the Pokemon League to take their challenge at the Indigo Plateau. He was actually preparing to enter Toho Falls when Mt. Silver was destroyed. The resulting explosion nearly killed him as boulders came cascading down, but quick thinking allowed him to duck into a cave and shelter himself from the explosion. Upon emerging days later, he found that Team Amethyst was in charge. Furious as he was terrified, he rushed home to find his parents. It seemed that they had both been killed as ways of "making examples" of those who refused to bend to the will of the villainous criminals. Brandon, furious, took up a white mask and took the name of "Cloud," becoming one of the first vigilantes to emerge.

Cloud was very successful when it came to meddling in Team Amethyst's dealings, often busting up rallies and patrols with his trusty pistol and comrade, Konzu. He never worked with any of the other vigilantes or the A.A.V, seeing as they seemed to lack the results that he typically achieved. Brandon has been the soldier he has been for four years, and the hardened lifestyle has left him with one goal, one desire: To bring the world into the light of day once again.

Personality: Quite Stubborn is the biggest thing he have. Orders do not exist to him. However he is available to help anyone and any Pokémon. Sometimes he sacrifices himself to the others. Gelius is very calm and relaxed. Trick him, and you may see yourself in trouble.

He has a cold look, and is barely sociable. He only talks to the friends and the ones he thinks that deserve to spend his time. He hates People from Amethyst, burglars, and other people.

Gelius has a wish. His wish is freedom, a reason of accepting the job as an High Ranking Rebel. Being under care Team Aqua was also one thing that shaped his personality. He has a mentality from Team Aqua. Their mentality was to cherish the seas, protect it and Etc... But his mentality changed over years, and friends inside the Team Aqua Unit were made too.

Gelius is great in cheating, due to still have some old mentality of Team Aqua. He also had an obsession to find Lugia, but some years later he lost it. Around girls, he is quiet, but causes some secret admirers, as you can see in some Team Aqua females.

History: Glade was born in Verdanturf, and the parents, Lily Dawson (16 Years old and member of Team Aqua) and Larry Silver (18 Years old and Ex-Member of Team Rocket, Member of Team Magma), left him behind in the hospital. Then he was sent to Mossdeep City Orphanage. There, he met his Sneasel. One day, when he was 8, a Donphan from a burglar attacked Glade, because Glade saw the burglar stealing, and threw Glade and Sneasel to the sea, making him to be washed away from the shore.

Glade was barely surviving due to Sneasel helping him. Later on that day, when they were almost with no energies, Matt, from Team Aqua, saved them. Matt later took care of Glade like a son, by making Glade a member of Team Aqua, changed his name to Gelius Prowers and training him to keep the seas safe.

Many years later, around his 20, Gelius received a letter from Matt. Matt was going to retire himself. He said that the next Admin should be his successor. Gelius, as adoptive child and only child, took the place of Admin. But Matt had a last order to Gelius as admin. To find Archie and Shelly.

Between his 10 and 25, Gelius captured some Pokémon. At his 10 he captured a Lotad and managed to evolve it to Lombre. He caught a Vibrava too around his 17 and evolved to Flygon around 19. He caught an Eevee and evolved it to Umbreon around 20. At his 25, he caught one last Pokémon, a Mudkip, but ended to trade it over with an Grunt for an Anorith.

Gelius around his 30 experienced the fight against Amethyst, where he fought at the side of Steven, Landon and others. Lately when he turned over 34, Amethyst ruled over the world, and Gelius and his Team Aqua Unit was threatened. Until the day that Gelius, at his 36, received a call from Shelly. Shelly wanted to talk with Matt. Gelius told the situation, and Shelly said if that was the case, Gelius would replace Matt at A.A.V. High Ranking Soldier, since Matt was supposed to have that role by Archie's Orders. Gelius prepared himself, and took flight along the Aqua Unit, guiding them to Safari Zone in Jotho. Little he knew that the Darkest fight was about to begin.

Cressida Chase

Age: 22

Role: Amethyst Soldier

Gender: Female

Appearance:
Cressida stands at an average 5'7" and has a somewhat unremarkable build, if a little on the curvy (or as she puts it, "annoyingly impractical") side. She has a fairly round complexion and a light-but-not-pale skin tone, with deep blue eyes and a permanent scowl on her face. Her burgundy-colored hair is cut short, and she wears fingerless leather gloves that match its color. Her typical clothing consists of a white tank top over which she wears a black leather jacket, as well as dark blue jeans and a pair of combat boots.

Personality:
Cressida's actions are almost always based upon stone cold logic. It's how her mind works, it's always worked for her, and she couldn't give a damn if anyone disagreed. This has two effects: she's able to weigh her risks and do things others might consider dangerous, but she has enough sense to not go recklessly charging straight into the fray. If there's a job to be done, she does it efficiently, doing little more than she needs to.

A very pessimistic person, she considers herself too jaded to be affected by anything anymore (although whether that holds true or not is only for time to tell), and having lost all her friends when she revealed that she was actively supporting Amara's cause, she's convinced herself that she doesn't need other people in her life, either. This comes with a small degree of arrogance, insisting that letting go of these things that otherwise would have worried her has allowed her to be better at whatever her duty might be.

Most of the time, she stays calm and collected, although when something really gets on her nerves, it certainly shows. She absolutely hates it when people try to be high and mighty, thinking they have more influence on the world than they really do. If you want to get on her good side, just don't bother her, and certainly don't be part of the rebels that will inevitably make Amara cause more destruction.

History:
Even as a child, Cressida seemed detached from the rest of the world. She had two loving parents, lived in a nice house in Vermillion City, yet she still didn't seem like a normal person to others. In school, she was seen as that one kid who could shoot up the place and no one would be surprised. People would call her emo and all the other names that can be thrown, but beyond mild annoyance, Cressida was generally pretty aloof to it all.

As far as Team Amethyst goes, there was never any sudden revelation; she's always held the opinion that resisting against somebody with as much power as Amara is bound to just cause more destruction. Siding with Amara is the path of least resistance by far, and so supporting Team Amethyst is the logical extension, regardless of the fact that everybody says it's the darkest thing to happen in history.

Pokémon:

Zangoose: He is the antithesis of Cressida, in a way -- loud, brash, and frequently gets out of hand and his trainer struggles to keep him under control.​

Galvantula: He is much more obedient than Zangoose, but then again, it isn't hard to be. Galvantula and Cressida think alike with battling tactics for the most part, but often takes matters into his own hands if there's ever a disagreement.​

"Zan!"

"Gal!"

The Zangoose and Galvantula both glared at their trainer, outraged at the interruption. The two would always fight when near each other, and each seemed to want to give each other a piece of their mind. "This is why I never let you eat together. You two need to not hurt each other, okay? I shouldn't have to explain why."

"Van! Galvan!" The Spider Pokémon lunged at the other, but Cressida once again stepped in the middle.

"Alright, that's it." She pulled a Pokéball from her belt and called Galvantula back into it, leaving only Zangoose present. She let out a deep sigh. "I swear to god..."

"Zan!" the Pokémon beamed, joyous that he had 'won' the fight.

Intervention over, it was time to get back to business. "Hey, Zangoose, I need to get across town. Go ahead and find a metro station nearby, okay!"

"Zan! Zangoose!" The Pokémon sprinted ahead of her and she let out another long sigh, finally glad to have the feuding Pokémon out of her hair.

@Gelius: You'll need to flesh out your character quite a bit, for example the 'Personality' section comprised of only 2 lines. Also there are a few grammatical errors strewn throughout your piece, and call me picky but they really bug me! An interesting character but for now you are declined, I hope you understand and I look forward to seeing you expand on your character if you want to re-apply. Also this is going to be similar to the anime, I should have specified that above, so as many moves as you'd like.

Name: Dennis Coleman

Age: 23

Role: Low Ranking Rebel

Gender: Male

Appearance:

At 5' 10", Dennis is tall and muscled, but his physique is more "sturdy" than "strong". His eyes are somewhere between blue and gray, with black hair (though he keeps his hair shaved nearly to the scalp and covered by his hat). He is simply average in appearance: plain faced, neither ugly nor handsome; taller than most, but not noticeably so; physically fit, but not "built" or "toned", just sturdy.

When he's not wearing his Resistance uniform, he dresses in very similar clothing, just with a different color palette. He'll wear a white shirt with tan overshirt, blue jeans, black boots, and a beige flat cap similar to his green beret.

Personality: In a word: tenacious. The fact that Dennis never gives up is one of his better qualities. He hates leaving things unfinished, and never goes back on his word or leaves his friends hanging. He's not suicidally overconfident, nor is he hypercompetent and incapable of failure. He knows when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, he simply doesn't like to back down.

Not one to express emotions, he keeps things bottled up inside. Not that he's completely stoic, but he doesn't lose his temper, keeps his fears and doubts to himself, and is almost never seen laughing or joking around. But he doesn't shun company, and can actually be a fun guy to spend time with, he's just quiet and almost a little shy.

History: Dennis was born in Santalune City to Claire and David Coleman, a teacher and police officer, respectively. His childhood was normal enough. He was a bit shy, but liked reading and running. When he was five, his mother helped him catch his first Pokemon, a Hoothoot. Things were okay, if a little average.

Then Team Amethyst showed up and ruined everything.

Dennis was eight when Lumiose City was destroyed. He and his family ran into the nearby forest to hide, hoping that Santalune would be safe. David and Claire made sure Dennis was hidden, then went to Lumiose to look for survivors. Dennis waited all day and all night, but they didn't return. He went to Lumiose to find them, but found only ruin and desolation. All he could find was a memento of his father's, a strange gray stone.

With no surviving family, Dennis was to be put up for adoption. A few days after the incident, he was picked up by a woman named Rose, his father's ex-girlfriend. A former Team Galactic member, Rose had seen terrorist attacks like this, but never on this scale. She raised Dennis, all the while training him, teaching him how to fight so he could one day avenge his parents. Rose and Dennis never stayed in one place for long, and spent the next fourteen years traveling.

Now 22, Dennis felt he was ready to go after Amara, but Rose knew he wasn't. Nonetheless, she agreed that they would start taking the fight to Team Amethyst. At first, their attacks were successful, and the two of them had good luck disrupting Team Amethyst operations in Johto. But they got greedy, and when they learned the regional commander would be in Olivine soon, the pair went to go assassinate him. They were outmatched, and Rose suffered a crippling injury trying to protect Dennis. They managed to escape, stowing away on a ship bound for Cianwood. Even with the help of Cianwood's finest doctor, Rose ended up losing her left arm, effectively ending her fighting days.

Rose realized that two people couldn't defeat an army, and that Dennis would need an army of his own if he would ever avenge his parents. Few of her old contacts were still alive, but she managed to find where Archie and the A.A.V. were, and convinced Dennis to join. They would be the strength he needed to fight back, the beacon to light their darkest hour.

@Godzil: Your character really interests me. Enough motive to strive to take down Amara and Amethyst and smart enough not to stand up to his superiors with the A.A.V. Not accepting anybody till the 24th but because of how interesting your character is it would take something major to change my mind. One thing I could say would be to add a few images to brighten up your posts, e.g your party under your name at the top of a post or using one of the RP templates available on the website, but it's just a nitpick. Your RP sample more than checks out too. Overall a pretty sweet SU.

@Challenger: An excellent SU, more than worth the wait! A very different character to one I imagined taking the role (I seen more of a sleuth, trying to avoid detection) but this makes for just as interesting a character. I like that he has a motive to taking down Amethyst's army. Getting excited with what you will do with this character!
