The Dojo

Welcome Nicole. What style do you do?

Since you do TKD, Buff, can you teach me the moves of the patterns Chon-Ji and Tan-Gun?

Sorry, I can't help ya there. It's accually been about 2 or 3 years since I took
Tae Kwon Do. But I don't remember Chon-Ji or Tan-Gun. Are they katas? I think some different schools have different katas. The only Tae Kwon Do katas that I learned were Kamsah, Kyu-Yul, and Jayoo.

Welcome Nicole. And yup, Chon-Ji and Tan-Gun are katas. Cho-Ji is for white belt/yellow tips, and Tan-Gun is for the yellow belts. I'm asking because grading is on 7 days, and in case I go up the ranking level, I already have a head start and I know my kata already. XD.

hey thanks everyone,oh my style,i dont even know how to spell it,its notTaekwondo,it like starts with a T.:)

Here's a list of martial arts that start with T, I hope one of them is your style: (you veteran martial artists may want to read this too, cos some of them you might never have heard of...)

So Nicole, which one of them's your style?

Your right I havn't heard of half of those.
What do you get when you cross Muay Thai with Aikido?
Thaikido lol, it sounds like Thailands version of Aikido. Though Muay Thai and Aikido are polar opposites in so many ways.

Here's two more:
Tai Chi (already listed as taijiquan)
Taekyon
There are also other uncommon or unique styles.

Cool! You do Taekwondo, Buff Norris? Cool! I do it too!

Well, did Tae Kwon Do. I had to quit that school.

Why'd you quit taekwondo in the first place?

No tengo dinero.

I didnt have the money to continue there.
They were charging over $80 a month plus belt promotions and other fees.
Where I go to now for Tang Soo Do only charges $25-$30 a month. They don't have a fancy dojo, so they don't have high overhead.

Wow, my dojang only charges:

$40 membership fee, only have to pay once
$35 montly fee, paid every month
$35 grading fee, pay 4 times a yea

Actually, beleave it or not, most of the schools that I've checked out in my city charge about $80 a month, give or take. And there are a lot of schools in my city.

hey ill find out today, because i go today.yay!

Okay we need a new topic so I'll post VP's topic from my club.

What's your favorite cartoon/anime that involves martial arts?

My favorites are the three Dragon Ball series, Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X, Inuyasha, and Case Closed/Detective Conan (I know it doesn't have much MA in it, but Rachel is the captian of her school's Karate team.)

Yo that's my topic. XD

My fave animes that have MA on it are Naruto, Dragon Ball/Z/GT/AF if it exists, Xiaolin Showdown (OK it's a cartoon, but meh), Real Bout High School, Spongebob Squarepants (Spongebob sometimes battles Sandy) and Ozzy and Drix (well only sometimes, but meh).

I just got my red belt in Tang Soo Do! Next belt...Black! HOOAH!!!

\/ NEW TOPIC \/
Are you more of an offensive or defensive fighter?
I can't remember if we already used this topic or not, but oh-well.

I'm more defensive, but if my opponent won't attack I can be offensive too.
