The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion!!!!

AGGHHH i got halfway through the last thieves guild quest and i wasn't watching my health and a stupid gloom wraith killed me....i almost threw my computer against a wall =P. But yeah that's a great item definitely worth it. and the quest itself is pretty cool.

Thieves Guild was easy (last quest was hard though)

It was easy cos before completing the main quest, I explored Oblivion Gates, getting the Sigil Stones. Eventually, I enchanted my armor with 5 Sigil Stones which all gave me Chameleon ability. Combined it was 100percent Chameleon! I couldn't be seen! Made nearly all Quests easier!

I started doing those daedric shrine quests....they give you such great items!

I've done the lot, I just have to stress how you should keep umbra instead of giving it to clavicus vile- It's one of the best swords in the game in terms of weight and base power. It also has a substantial soul-trap enchantment, lasting for two minutes I believe. The masque of Clavicus Vile sucks :P

Well this game is looking awesome as I read through all those posts...
I haven't got the game but went through a phase of wanting it so badly!
I may ask for the PC version for Christmas.. I don't have any money and I can wait a couple more months..

I really enjoyed this game, I was in the Dark Brotherhood, it's a shame I can't find the game anymore.

Ahhh that sucks that you lost it, lol i'm at he head of every faction it took so long...

Kuggles if you do get it make sure to get the game of the year edition, which includes the shivering isles expansion and the knights of the nine plug in....i'm still on the original game

Oblivion is a great game. No need for mods, in my opinion, the game is exceptional as is. Progress: I finished the Dark Brotherhood questline, have done a few quests in various other guilds, have done quite a few random quests that people give you in towns and whatnot, and have done.. probably at least half of the main questline. Total hours so far: around 30.

I've played a small bit of Morrowind, and although it was likely among the best PC RPG's around at the time of its release, it doesn't compare to Oblivion (as expected). There is little voice-acting and vast amounts of reading, which help turn the game into more of a chore, and the easy checkpoint/map navigation in Oblivion wasn't written at the time. Combat in Morrowind isn't as grand, either.

Well said =)...Never did play Morrowind, but don't really have to with Oblivion being as epic as it is!

Here's a question- Does anyone specialise in either pure combat, Mage or Stealth?

I'm a hybrid myself....I'm a master at Blade and a Journeyman of destruction and marksman, so I like to mix it up a bit =).

Erm, don't look too close at that list. D:

Why what's wrong with them?

Hey has anyone beaten the main quest? And if so, is it worth the time? Right now i'm going around getting aid for Bruma and closing all those oblivion gates.

I've done it, and yes it's worth doing it for the nice chunk of gamerscore. I'd recommend doing it at a low level though, I made the mistake of doing it at level 40 and came up against nothing but xivilai and it was a nightmare. You reward for completing the quest (imperial dragon armor) is also of little use after level 12 or so, when better sets start becoming available.

I tend to minmax; which means that I allocate the skills I never want to use to my Majors, so that I can get all the skills I want to use to 100 points each without gaining an actual level.

And yes o_o Whats wrong with my mod-list?

But don't you find it boring facing nothing but stunted scamps ect? Minimaxing is just plain annoying, and your attributes just stay rock-bottom in comparrison.

Well I'm level 36 I think...I mean, the Xivilai can get sort of annoying with their stupid clannfear summons, but I think I have the most powerful sword in the game with Goldbrand (correct me if I'm wrong) so they're not too bad. Also, being a master alchemist doesn't hurt because then you can just take their heart and make a restore health potion =P

Well it's the strongest sword in the generic game, but you can enchant more powerful ones (I myself have a dadreic longsword with 35+ frost damage enchantment)
...
I've just checked, and my most powerful weapon is a perfect amber warhammer (the strongest base damage in the game- Base 35 damage with 100 Blunt and 100 Strength) with a level 41 frost enchantment, so does 76 damage per hit. That thing pwns. However I've recently become a stealth charactor and as such carry a variety of daggers and rely on a destruction spell that does 250 damage :P

This game is absolutley amazing, I have it for Xbox 360, PC and PS3 ^^;;; (Got it for PC initially with all the extras and awesome case, but it ran like crap on my computer, bought it with my 360 when I got it as a result and it came bundled with my PS3 when I got it ^^; I play it on PS3 because it's more stable than the 360 version, but I would never have gotten it otherwise with having the 360 version)
