5th Gen The Elite Four

simple this:

NO SINGLE TYPE TRAINERS!

every member of the elite four has a diverse team of pokemon, that covers each others weaknesses, now THAT would be the true elite four.
A good Idea Volroc, especially since it covers the discussion about this game being harder than all the past Generations.
G'night everyone, I'm going to go to bed, Peace.

Brock should be the champion.

Er...

;)

A double-battle E4 member would be great, I hope they implement that.
Actually, reason I didn't say Flying or Electric because JAK3 already mentions those two.

Writing on the gym leader thread made me think - what types do you think we'll see in Black and White's Elite Four (and Champion)?

The only types not seen yet in the E4 are Normal, Flying, Electric and Grass, so I think they are most likely to be there. And maybe a multi-typed Champion like Blue and Cynthia? What do you think/hope we'll see?
A flying type Champion would be interesting, but what other types haven't we seen yet, such as, Electric? Or have we had that?

Now...

Charmageddon already mentions the only Elite 4 that didn't come are also Normal and Grass.
When I replied to his quote, I was just saying how you also mention Grass and Normal when JAK 3 didn't seem to realize that. Either my wording is wrong or I should have just quote from you. Maybe both. x_x

I want a champion with a full-out strategy that's difficult to just set-up on and sweep. Something surprisingly difficult this time. :D

Also, it seems we've been missing water-types for a while, which would make for some interesting teams. ;D 93 pokemon and counting in the type! Wallace doesn't count.
This. Make the Elite four the Elite four and not something you can beat with half a team like people seem to be doing(including myself with HG/SS). I want some strategy and difficulty incorporated into this game, it'd make it pretty interesting.

As much as I would love the strategy thing going on, that's most likely not going to happen. The Elite 4 will most likely go for a type specialty while the champion might be one of the other. The best thing to go about having the strategy/tactic thing for the Elite 4 is if they're like Steven in R/S/E or Flint in Diamond and Pearl (not Platinum). Both of them say they have a type specailty, but they got Pokemon whose types are totally different and also them having a variety of moves that can throw you off at times. I guess Lance go under that category too. Champion same thing, but maybe another mulitype one would surface.

Yeah, I really want an E4 that focuses more on Strategy and themes than types. It is way too easy when you know what types their Pokemon are.

Oh, OK. Sorry, my fault, I skim-read your post and missed what you meant. :)

I want an elite four in which each member specializes in two types, this will keep type specization but make it mix to make things harder!

The first couple of games did do that. :P

Lorelei = Ice/Water
Bruno = Fighting/Rock
Agatha = Ghost/Poison
Lance = Dragon/Flying
Koga = Poison/Bug
Karen = Dark/Poison

It wasn't until recently that they've become completely monotype...the Sinnoh E4 excluded because Flint only had two fire-types to work with in DP.

I agree with this idea. A champion with a full-out strategy would be best. Raising the difficulty level of the battle and making it full out to the point where you're at the edge of winning or losing. It seems like it's always something missing not only for the Champion, but for the other Elite members too.

With the Elite members, I agree we're missing out on a Water Type like before. I think having him or her as the last Elite Member would work well. Again though, a team and strategy that could take advantage of those who think they can win by type advantage alone is what I'm looking forward too. I'm hoping abilities take part in all of this as well. As for the other Elite member types, I'm thinking a Normal type is long overdue. They're pretty universal as far as movesets go and could give a good chance in lineup. The other two types I'd like to be a Fighting/Steel/Ground mix, a bit like Bruno in way. Finally, a Grass or Bug type mix would be nice too.

I think I'm aiming for more of a mixed Elite where they not only carry just one specific type of Pokémon, but more of a range to say. Plus with strategy and a smart AI system, I think it'll be quite the game thus far.

Well technicly Lance was a flying E4 all of his pokes are Flying type but he anounces himself as dragon.
Just like Agatha. We all know her Pokemon are all Poison but she insist it on being Ghost.

Frankly, yeah. I'd like a Champion who only has one type. I think they're harder to beat. For a Champion who has multiple type, you only get to strategise a little and boom, instant win. For a one-Champion, on the other hand, if he defeats your pwning Pokemon and used up all the PP for that move, it's over. That was why I got troubled by Wallace
