    [PokeCommunity.com] The Elite Four

Elite Four members are amongst the strongest trainers in the Region, so what are we expecting from them in Pokemon Sun & Moon? Is it possible that we will see a character from a previous Region return as a newly formed Elite Four member of Alola? What types are you expecting to see these members specialize in?

I personally think that we will at least get a Fairy-type member given that it is still a relatively new type and we have yet to have an Elite Four member to specialize in this type. We had Valerie as the Fairy gym leader, so perhaps this time we will get an E4 member who uses Fairy-types! Another type I'd expect to see for an Elite Four is an Electric-type. Surprisingly, we have never had an E4 member who specializes in this type even though we have had five Gym Leaders who do. It would make sense for Game Freak to use types that have never been specialities of Elite Four members previously in order for them to stand out from other generations imo.

    So what are your thoughts?

There's also never been a Grass E4, and I know it has a lot of weaknesses, but there are some strong Pokemon within it, and hopefully they'll add more this gen

Like the OP said, I'm hoping Game Freak take a break from the Electric Gyms this generation and give the type to an Elite Four instead, since I assume Game Freak love the Electric-type and they want a specialist with it, and I think Elite Four would be a nice change for it.

Also, Grass and Flying are other types I'd like to see the Elite Four. I know Grass has a lot of weaknesses but as pointed out, it does have its fair share of powerful Pokemon. Flying is a type with a lot of diversity in regards to secondary types and would make for an interesting E4-worthy team.

Kinda off-topic but I would like Phobe to make a camo in SM, cause she has that Hawaiian look Gamefreak seems to create for SM. Like, she's not going to be an elite four member, but you can battle her post-game like Cynthia in BW

Fairy and Normal members would be cool to see, as previously stated in here already. I think that Electric would be good to throw in as well. Maybe another Ice member too?

I want them to be more memorable than the members in XY though. I would love to see them play a part in the story.

I think an E4 based on the paranormal would be cool. It could be Fairy, Psychic, Ghost, and the odd one, Normal.

I would love to see another take on Fire-type E4, kinda what Flint had, also a retake on a Ghost E4.
Honestly, I would just love to see more diversity in Pokémon they use in the E4 than just Pokémon of the same type. Like how E4 use Pokémon that have counter-moves or the specialty type moves.

In the elite four there hasn't been a representation of the Normal-type as of yet, so that'd be pretty nice to include.

Considering how difficult Normal-type Gyms tend to be, I could imagine the challenge that could come with a Normal-type user in the Elite Four.

Normal-types are super bulky, it would definitely make for a challenge at an Elite Four level. Norman and Lenora were particularly tough Gym Leader who both happened to specialize in Normal-types. I think it's a combination of the one weakness to Fighting-types along with the high HP/Defense stats that makes it difficult to take them down. A Normal-type E4 member would certainly be interesting for that aspect and due to the wide varierty of Pokemon that could be used since Normal does cover a large amount of Pokemon that are dual-typed.

Don't forget Cheren in B2/W2, where the only Fighting-type option you had was Riolu and it couldn't even learn a Fighting move (in this case Force Palm) until Level 15, which is hard to grind to since there's no access to wild Audino until the Gym has been defeated.

However, a Normal-type Elite Four member is something you'll be well prepared for since you may have a Fighting-type before then. But then, there's the possibility of them using dual-typed Normal Pokemon.

I would love to see a Poison type, Electric type, Steel type, and Ghost type Elite Four
