2nd Gen The Elite Four

The Elite Four are four Pokémon Trainers who are regarded as the toughest in their regional Pokémon League, short of the Pokémon League Champion. Those who challenge the Elite Four must have won all eight Badges from that region and face all four and the current Champion consecutively without losing to any of them.

However in Generation II, there was much discussion on how underwhelming they are compared to the Champion. What did you think of the Johto Elite Four? Did you think they could have been designed better? Maybe just completely re-done? Did you have any tough battles?

I just felt like Karen and Will came out of nowhere and would have liked if they played parts in the story somehow, like Lance. Very pleased to see Koga there though! He somehow really fit, and it was pretty cool to see the pokémon world advance through the characters taking on new roles, like Lance and Koga did.

I'd have to agree. I think a bit of backstory on how Will and Karen became apart of the Elite Four would have been pretty nice. Seeing Koga, Bruno, and Lance made me feel pretty good about it. I suppose it's just the fact of seeing a familiar face in an entire new region.
