    The Endowed [PG-16]:

Let's bring you up to speed:

The old days happened between around 1500 and 800 years ago. These are the days of prehistory; the time only artefacts can reveal anything about. Only legends have survived since then, challenging moral compasses and teaching children life lessons. There are stories that have been passed down by word of mouth, exaggerated or stretched, eventually losing the tale of what really happened. There are adventures people set out on that have been long forgotten; this is one of those adventures.

Back in those days, time was not important. All it could do for humans was indicate when nocturnal Pokemon would start showing up. Writing was unheard of; people had barely enough to eat or drink, let alone compose a written language. Regions were undiscovered; humans couldn't build boats that could sustain a voyage long enough from one region to another and no Pokemon would escort them there safely. Humans also doubted there could be other lands and were scared of falling of the edge of the earth. For the first five hundred years, Pokemon were regarded as fearsome beasts that controlled the world. Humans waged war against them, trying to conquer the titans; to build a society in which they could take advantage of the power inside every Pokemon. This resulted in many, many casualties on both sides. There were no Poke Balls. To claim ownership of a Pokemon, a human would have to nearly kill it and neglect the Pokemon enough that it wouldn't have the power to escape. These were primal times with primal survival tactics.

The story of the Endowed begins around 1000 years ago, when Armagh Sartonic was elected High Leader of Kanto after three years of campaigning for a democratic government. He inherited several hundred acres of land after his father's death, and quickly made a fortune renting the land out to whoever needed it. Seeing massive potential for the future, he decided to use the money to finance his presidential campaign. He decided that Saffron would be his primary base as it was the most easily accessible town in Kanto. What the people who voted for him didn't know was that he planned to rule Kanto with an iron fist and form a dictatorship.

Just before he was elected, a squadron of rogues calling themselves the Rockets attacked Viridian. The few who survived reported seeing Pokemon do their evil bidding, as well as the Rockets brutally performing cold-blooded murders on the young, the elderly and everyone in between. Within sixteen hours of the great siege, Viridian had fallen to the Rockets and the survivors were either taken as slaves or they fled to nearby towns.

The single spark caused the inferno:

The boy was barely eight years old, but his recently diseased father had left him with a mission and he could not fail. He had lost track of time but reckoned it was three or four days since he escaped from Viridian. In that time, he had scaled nearly half of Kanto and made it to Saffron. That was where the new government would be, according to his father, that was where he would be looked after.

There was a huge crowd gathered around a small wooden stage; everyone was waiting for the newly appointed High Leader to walk onto it and give a victory speech. The boy was at the very edge of the crowd, attempting to suppress tears. He had been crying several times a day since the attack, but he hadn't let it halt his progress and he wasn't about to now. He dodged past people bigger than him, who wondered why he was covered in dry blood and where his parents were. The stage he was making his way towards wasn't too far away, and he quickly managed to get to the front of the audience. There was a small barricade blocking his way; a three foot wall, but he hopped over that with no effort at all and climbed up onto the stage.

He could hear mutters of disapproval from the crowd and wondered how they would take the news. Biting his lip, he moved to the centre of the stage and coughed to get everyone's attention. For a second, he worried about his small voice and whether or not it would be able to carry itself to the people in front of him, then he composed himself and began.

'M-m-my f-father is d-d-dead!' His voice cracked and tears began flowing down his face. He pressed on regardless. 'A group of bandits attacked Viridian a few days ago; there were very few survivors.' He tried to remember the rest of the speech his dying father had tried to teach him. 'Please save the rest of Kanto from suffering the same fate.'

It could have been fear or more likely exhaustion, but as soon as he finished his monologue, the boy fainted and the crowd became unsettled.

    Where do you come in?

Armagh Sartonic's victory speech was put on hold to deal with the message relayed by the boy. After he was brought round and interrogated, his claim was deemed real. You are in Saffron. Maybe you live there or maybe you just came to vote for the High Leader, but you're present when they make the decision to send a scouting team to Viridian to confirm the threat level.

And you are picked as a member of that team. Little do you know, you're in for a bigger adventure than you think and you won't ever return to Saffron.

    Rules:

No godmodding. Cannot stress this enough; nobody likes it when your character chops off a Charizard's head with his bare hands.

Swearing, romance and everything else along the way is okay. Hence the PG-16 rating; just don't go overboard for the sake of it.

Be active. The pace of this RP will change rapidly and dramatically; you need to be active to keep up.

You need to have a good grasp of the English language. I'm not that strict when it comes to things like this but if u tipe lyk dis, your character application will get denied.

You need to have an understanding of the Pokemon world. This is of the utter importance; there are no Poke Balls so how does one control a Pokemon? There are no Super Rods, only what you can make single-handedly and so on. Also, we're going on a journey, so knowing the layout of Kanto would probably be helpful too.

    Notes:

This RP requires thinking outside the box. There are no Pokemon Centres to stay in. Houses don't look futuristic; they're made of wood. You can be whoever you want so long as you have a believable tie-in with Saffron City and why you got picked for the scouting mission. You could be working for Armagh Sartonic, maybe you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time when they were deciding who would go or maybe you're just an aspiring Pokemon trainer who wants to have an adventure. Be warned though: the foundations of Pokemon training are yet to be laid down. Becoming a trainer is nearly as risky as tickling a sleeping Dragonite.

Any questions regarding the RP can be asked in the OOC thread, which I'll post when this thread gets approved.

    You had me at "Rocket".

    Name:
    Wallace "Wall" Etheridge

    Age:
    Nineteen

    Gender:
    Male

    Personality:
Upon first look, glance, or even gaze, Wallace looks like a brute, someone who should be chopping wood or building houses. Despite his outer strength Wallace isn't too emotionally stable he tends to willow in self-pity. He often plays the "blame game", it's his fault his family isn't "rich" enough. Nothing is ever good enough for Wallace, this tends to anger him and causes temper-tantrums. Even though he is the age of nineteen, since he didn't have a childhood like most kids he unfortunately still acts like one.

    Biography
    :
Fresh out of a job, it was time to start scouring the cities for a new one, having to support the family somehow. That's all Wallace did was work, nothing was ever about his enjoyment. He had a family to support, a brother, a sister, a mother and a father, after all he was the eldest. His father was a wayward old man who couldn't even tend to the easiest of chores. He wanted to let his brother have a childhood, enjoy himself why he still could, the same for his sister.

Wallace tried city after city, Celadon, no work, Cerulean, no work, perhaps Saffron had some odd-end jobs. Maybe, just maybe, Wallace thought he should skip Saffron it felt too eerie to him. Fortunately, he remembered his needy family and how much they relied on him. Entering Saffron wasn't hard, asking around for an outsider was, he wasn't even familiar with this town enough. A arrogant, stern young man came up to him, perhaps the security of this town? Anyway, he stared at Wallace and declared that he would be going on a search party, what? Puzzled, the officer (?) clued him in on what happened, Wallace couldn't go, he had family. Technically, this was work, wasn't it? Wallace made up his made, he would go search whatever happened, by now the details were all fuzzy anyhow. Finally some enjoyment for Wallace, that's all he ever wanted.

    Appearance:
As mentioned before, at first look he looks like someone who has been working all his life, which is the case. With shaggy brown hair, similar to a mop, stuck to his face. Peach fuzz, he rarely shaved but he decided to if he wanted a job. A ragged, brown shirt that was neatly tucked beneath his beyond faded brown shorts. His eyes, like the rest of him, were brown, it's almost eerie has brown reflects him. Good ole working boots support his feet, nothing could stop him from walking town to town with these bad boys. Weighing about 180, with his 5'9 structure, his arms were notably his best feature.

    Occupation

    Nidorina

    Name:
    Zoé Hoban

    Age:
    Nineteen

    Gender:
    Female

    Personality:
Zoé knows what's happening. She always knows. It's her job. She lives off her wits, a hunter. She is always alert, always looking for the next... hey, what's that? Oooh, shiny! Someone dropped a coin! Where was I? ... Oh well. I'm sure I'll remember later...

A girl who acts tough and mysterious, she is actually a sweet and simple person. She is easily distracted and a bit forgetful, so she tries to get to the point quickly in conversations. She has a hard time taking things seriously, and can be very energetic and annoying at times.

    Biography
    :
Zoé grew up on a farm, learning from a young age to be self-sufficient. She did well for herself, but never got the hang of farming. The town doctor declared her mentally unstable, but her father intimidated the man into keeping it secret. Her father taught her to hunt, and would send her out for a week at a time. She returned everytime with food, armed with her crossbow and Zubat.

She found her Zubat as a baby in her barn. She thought the bright green bat was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. She trained it to be loyal and to help her hunt, using it's supersonic cries to detect hidden animals.

At age 18, her father had to sell the farm. She left to the city to find work, while he got a job as a security guard in Viridian. She was able to get a job in Saffron as a hunter, using her crossbow for hunting food, and Zubat and Pokéballs for capture. She was headed to the store to pick up some things when the young boy made his speech. The recruiter saw her passing by with Zubat and grabbed her, telling her she had been hired to hunt something different this time...

    Appearance:
Zoé is tall and lean, about 5' 8". Weighing in at about 140, she is thin and lightly muscled. She has long legs, an ample chest, and toned arms. Her skin is lightly tanned, like she'd been dipped in tea. She has black hair past her shoulders, tied into a ponytail for convenience. Her eyes are purple, so she wears glasses to distract from them.

She never cared for fashion, so she has several sets of the same outfit. She wears white running shoes in town, or black hiking boots if not in town. She wears grey socks. She wears black jeans and a grey t-shirt decorated with a purple pokéball logo on the stomach. She wears a white trilby hat with a red feather stuck in it. A gold charm hangs around her neck by a leather strap, and she carries a leather pouch on her belt for carrying things she finds on the ground.

    Occupation
    :
    Hunter-Gatherer

    Pokemon companions
    :
    Zubat (Shiny!)

    Name: Simon Quien

    Age: Sixteen

    Gender: Male

Personality: Simon is a reserved, usually nervous kid. Once he gets to know someone he is a very lovable, and caring guy. He has a soft spot for girls, and is super chivalrous. Once he decides someone is his friend he is forever loyal, even if they stab him in the back.

Biography: Simon was raised on the edge of Kanto at Mount Silver. His mother died during childbirth, so he was raised mostly by his aunt. His father was often out hunting, so he was rarely around. Simon found his partner Tyrouge when he wandered off by himself at the age of five. They grew up togeather, and became best friends. He even named the Tyrouge Kisan, after his grandfather.
His cousin Yanu dissapeared just before the Viridian City incident happened. Simon went to say hello to Yanu, found he was missing. All that was in his hut was an egg, and a note reading, "Keep it safe". Simon, and Kisan left the village to go and find out what happened to Yanu. Simon passed though Viridian City after the attack, so he got a firsthand view of the carnage. After sneaking through he headed for
Saffron to find out what happened. When he arrived, he talked to the guard about what he saw. They asked him to be on the search party since he has experience getting though the city. He joined because he figured it couldn't hurt him in his search for his cousin.
Apperance: Simon is small for his age. He is about 4' 8", 100 pounds. He is very lean and slightly muscular. He has a very bad farmers tan, so anywhere the sun doesn't hit when he has a shirt on is very pale. He has blue eyes. He is unable to open his left eye due to an accedent when he was a child that left it scarred. He has short, messy, blonde hair that never sits the same way two days in a row. He wears very thin, dirty clothes, are very loose on him. He also never wears shoes. He has an old knapsack that he wears to keep the egg from Yanu's hut in.

    Occupation: N/A

    Pokemon companions: Kisan the Tyrouge
    The egg (Pokemon not known)

I shall reserve; SU will be right he-ah in a maximum of a day.

Looks good. Reserve pls. Im going to sleep soon. Max 15 hours, I hope :P

Edit: Wait, is this going to be a horro thing, or a action war thing? I dont do horro...

It's sort of like an epic journey/action war thing. Could be a hunter/survivor thing if you don't have a Pokemon accompanying you.

Renege and Godzil are both approved. Great signups, guys.

SootDumpling is officially pending, depending on what you're planning. Your biography is a tad bit vague, but I see what you're getting at, I think. You're planning to make your own way to Viridian City and stumble into the madness accidentally? That'd actually be pretty cool, to have two groups making their seperate ways towards Viridian.

But the journey from Saffron will be long and treacherous so you could be waiting a while for us to meet up with you (assuming your character's going through Mt. Silver to the Indigo Plateau and going on to Viridian from there). So... yeah, if you want to rethink how your character ends up heading to Viridian, let me know. I'm content with your current idea so long as you know it'll be a bit of a wait for the action to happen.

Heh, sorry Dead Space set me off. Then you were talking pretty bloody, and the whole, "Little did they know, they wouldn't be returning."

Also, sorry for the spelling back there. In Rp I type it in Word first.

    SU coming up.

    'Kay, no worries.

Ok I edited my SU. Anything else I need done please tell me, and I would be happy to accomodate.

    You're approved. Welcome aboard.

Will write my character application later tonight and post it either then or tomorrow morning. Should have done it as soon as I submitted the roleplay but I've been really busy since then. My bad guys.

Looks fun. I'll reserve a spot for this, plz. =)

P.S, is there an age limit? Just curious, since i've an idea for a really young character. ?_?

Well, you're assuming the scouting squad is made up of expendable people so are younglings expendable? Probably not the really young but tweens and young teenagers should be able, and even then you might have someone who decides to tail the group anyway after being told he/she can't go because he/she is too young.

Down to your writing skills and how you can pull it off I guess.

Read it, was interested, filled a SU… hope you like it! :D

    Name: Clopin Gitan

    Age: 22

    Gender: Male

    Personality:
The first step towards understanding the great enigma that is Clopin, one must begin by accepting that Clopin is two separate entities, who share the same mind, body, thoughts, and opinions, yet still manage to be completely different from one another. Clopin doesn't have multiple personality disorder (MPD), nor does he have a clashing sense of honor, curiosity, or anything. Clopin simply fills two separate roles in his daily life. To those who know and understand him, he is nothing but a liar and a coward, although in some crooked, twisted sense of the word, a good friend. However, those who have only seen this man in a stage or a ring, he is nothing short of the embodiment of what being a hero means. Clopin is fascinated and occupied with only one goal in his life, to entertain the masses.
    Biography:
Clopin claims to have been born to a gipsy mother atop the dangerous Mt. Silver on the edge of Kanto. Here, he says, his mother died soon thereafter after nourishing her child for less than a month, and consequently, the baby had to look after himself. Clopin claims that in the heights of the mountain, he learned to fish Goldeen by himself, to poach Pokémon eggs to ensure his own survival, and that he even learned to hunt the dangerous Pokémon that lived on the mountain. "Survival of the fittest is the game best suited for Clopin", he says. While people tend to be so amazed by Clopin's natural abilities and strength, that they don't dare even doubt the man, a question tends to arise: "Why then, Great Clopin, did you come down to the city?"

In reality, Clopin is a little more than just a common swindler. He was born, not in the dangerous wild, but in a small household on the edge of Saffron City. His mother didn't die during, or even close to childbirth, as a matter of fact, she is still alive. And Clopin is less than proficient at handling the vast wilderness of the Pokémon world; he is not only scared of death and adventure, he is scared of the dark. However, you may be wondering how a man such as Clopin, a liar, a farce, and a coward, was able to make such a living for himself in these tough times. You see, Clopin understands the inherent human nature; we want to believe the unbelievable, we want to witness the impossible, and we are willing to pay any price for it… Clopin can make the desires of your curiosity, into a reality.

You see, Clopin is what you would call today, a magician. He is a very smart man who will invent mechanisms and tools in order to deceive the eye of the common passerby in Saffron City. What does he do exactly? Well, it's really nothing more than cheap tricks… cheap tricks that make him money. "To teach, and to… AMAZE!" he'll respond people who ask of his origins and intentions as a cloud of smoke appears before him suddenly and he escapes the stage. Although Clopin is generally well regarded as a hero and a role model by the majority of the masses, some people are cautious of him. The two main reasons for these peoples' doubt of Clopin are: one, the thought that Clopin isn't who he appears to be, and two, and more alarmingly; that he is.

His most famous acts include: breathing fire from his mouth, chopping down a tree with only his hands, and lastly, wrestling a ferocious Ursaring from Mt. Silver into submission.

    Appearance:
Clopin, impressively enough, has the factions to have become a very handsome young man. Among these, dark skin, a prominent jaw, big dark eyes, a charismatic smile, straight, pearly-white teeth, an above average height, and a very fast metabolism that allows him to avoid getting fat, and allows for easy and swift strengthening of his muscles, are most noticeable. However, Clopin has become so engulfed by his desire to be something 'out-of-this-world', that he's let his persona affect his appearance. Thus, Clopin doesn't cut his hair; it's grown for such a long time that it curls and dreads around itself, running down to his chest. He also has resorted to wearing very bright colored clothing (think yellow and violet), and always walks around with a cape.
    Occupation: Swindler/Magician

    Pokemon companions:
    • Ursaring
kept as a secret from others, the famous "killer Ursaring who followed Clopin down from Mt. Silver in order to gain revenge for his young been beaten by Clopin that seeks to kill the young hero." This is the Ursaring that Clopin will wrestle into submission in some of his acts.
    • Murkrow
a small Pokémon who's main purpose is to collect tips from the audience at Clopin's shows, this Pokémon tends to be somewhat malicious, and has an eye for shiny objects.

    Name: Jayden Barrick
    Age: 20
    Gender: Male

    Personality:
Jayden, for lack of a better word, is a trickster. He enjoys getting goods and then selling them for quite a bit more than what they were originally worth, though doesn't consider it stealing in the slightest. He can often strike deals that will land greatly in his favor, and doesn't give a care whatsoever how it troubles anyone else. He looks out for number one, and that is most definitely himself. The next thing he looks out for are his companions, or his partners in crime. Jayden is rather protective of his Pokemon, if only because they are the closest thing he's ever experienced to a true friend. Jayden can easily lie with a straight face, and can hardly feel any sorrow about anything, in short. Deep down, however, Jayden has a fear of being alone and just can't help the fact that he knows he pushes people away but doesn't end up doing anything about it. He hates it when he's wrong as well, which has landed him in quite a few brawls that he most definitely lost.

    Biography:
Jayden was born into a less than happy home in the small town of Lavender. He was born to a ninety-percent-of-the-time drunk father, and an overworked mother. Jayden's dad worked as a grave digger inside the Pokemon Tower, and often came home drunk from a "hard day's work". His mother worked two shifts at the local market, selling fruits and limited supplies to the townsfolk and occasional passerby. They lived in a small house just to the edge of the city, and Jayden was almost constantly reminded by his father that the house had been built before he had been born by his father's hands. This was, in Jayden's opinion, probably the reason for the leaky roof and small rooms.

Jayden was forced by his father to learn the trade of grave digging, but truthfully Jayden found that dull and depressing. Sometimes he managed to get out of working by saying he was going to go do chores at home, but in reality Jayden went and learned the trade of bartering with his mother. It wasn't long after Jayden's twelfth birthday when his father got so drunk that he lashed out and hit his mother, causing her to run away without Jayden in the middle of the night. Jayden was crushed by this, seeing as he often felt closest to his mother, and silently obeyed his father for fear of another relapse of that night.

It was on Jayden's fifteenth year that the peddler came into town, boasting about eggs containing strong creatures that would hatch and make you rich beyond belief. Jayden's father had grunted and called it a load of bull, marching off to work. Jayden, however, found it intriguing. He went to the stand by himself while his father was at work, and managed to snag one of the eggs at random while the man wasn't looking. The man had caused a commotion the next day, but the egg was never taken from Jayden because it was never found. Soon after, it hatched into a Charmander, and it was then that Jayden saw his ticket out.

Jayden began secretly taking things from the market his mother used to work at, packing them all away in a small wagon his father had bargained off a trader a few years prior. After a particularly violent argument with his father a few months before on the subject of leaving, Jayden had made his mind up. He was going to travel the world as a peddler just like the man he had stole from, and would make a living off of that. He would be away from his stupid father, and would get to enjoy his life just as he had always dreamed. So, Jayden took off with Charmander in the middle of the night and headed towards Fuscia City first.

Along his travels, Jayden found a Poochyena trying to steal some of his bread in the middle of the night just after he had arrived in Fuscia. Charmander had stood up for Jayden and his food, beating the Poochyena without hesitation. The Poochyena, for some odd reason or another, had begun to follow Jayden after that, so Jayden let it tag along. Together they braved the wilderness, until Jayden arrived in Celadon City. It was quite the well built town, but Jayden wasn't too keen on it at the moment. He set his sights on Saffron, and was just about there when a Starly had randomly latched onto one of his blankets and refused to let go. Jayden, though slightly annoyed, let the Starly come along as well. And so, this was how their odd group wound up in Saffron. Jayden has been hoping to run into a good oxen-like Pokemon, however, because his wagon has been continuously growing and it is getting hard for Jayden, Charmeleon, and even Mightyena to push it along.

    Appearance:
Jayden is very average. He isn't overly handsome, but nor is he ugly. He has brown hair that falls to his shoulders, and cuts it himself. He doesn't ever cut it very short, however, because he likes the long hair and also doesn't want to take that much time into his appearance. His eyes are murky gray and almond shaped. From his travels, Jayden has a rather thin body with a little muscle to it. Jayden reckons he stands at about six feet tall, but isn't fully sure. Besides just his build, however, Jayden has a slight tanned look to his features (mostly from the sun from his travels), but it really isn't much.

In the clothing department, Jayden would probably look like a nobody. His clothes have a worn look about them, and have quite a few holes here and there. His shirt was a very faded white color, with holes near the neckline and in the armpits. Jayden also has a roughly tailored patchwork shirt that is a reddish color. There are patches on the elbows that are black. His pants are an old gray pair that have holes in the knees and on the bottoms, because they're moderately long. On his feet, Jayden wears a pair of black boots that were brown at the bottom with road dust and the soles were slowly wearing down. They were higher boots, but only went to a little above his ankle instead of all the way to his knee.

    Occupation: Trader/Peddler

    Pokemon companions:
    -Charmeleon (M)
Charmeleon has been with Jayden since he was fifteen. They are rather close, considering Jayden was the first thing Charmeleon saw when he hatched. Charmeleon is rather mellow most of the time, though can turn angry if he catches people trying to nick Jayden's supplies. Charmeleon also has a jagged scar across his back from a fight with a Sandshrew.

    -Mightyena (M)
Mightyena was always very playful as a Poochyena, but once he evolved he grew rather serious. However, Mightyena does still enjoy the occasional game of catch me if you can, or tag. He, if it wasn't already obvious, is rather partial to running. Mightyena also likes to avoid the water as much as possible, seeing as he has difficulty swimming. He can swim, he just isn't very good at it...at all.

    -Starly (F)
Starly is the newest addition to their troop, and the craziest. She enjoys pecking at Mightyena to try to get a rise out of him, and when she does Starly flutters back to her favorite blanket in Jayden's caravan. She likes to fly about during the day, but either doesn't stray very far or almost always comes back to them at the first sign of dusk.

Alright, sorry for the slight burst of inactivity; I haven't had a lot of time in the last 36 hours.

So I updated the first post a tad. Just made a couple of edits to let the story flow more naturally and got rid of the cities/towns tags because back in those days, I don't really think they'd be divided into those sort of things just yet. Credit goes to Abnegation who pointed out the mistakes for me.

grey†fish and Frostbiteकर्म are both approved. Good work you two.

And before I post my signup, just gonna let you know that I plan on starting the RP this Thursday. Just giving people a tad bit more time to finish their signups.

Personality (one paragraph minimum): Beag knows he won't die a hero. These aren't times to try and glorify yourself in front of a crowd. Every day is an adventure for Beag; he wakes up wondering if he'll get to sleep that night or how he's going to get food to survive. Because of this, he's developed the personality of a cold-blooded killer, only talking to people when it's necessary. Otherwise, he'll let himself blend into the background and only do something when it's in his best interests to do so. Not that he has the guts to kill anyone. Beag is a coward who's lost more fights than he can remember. He looks out for himself and tries not to confront anyone about anything. He never makes jokes and is generally unpleasant to anyone who talks to him. Because of this, he has no associates, let alone anyone he could actually rely on and this just makes him more and more bitter on the inside.

Biography (two paragraphs minimum): Beag was found abandoned on the outskirts of the Indigo Plateau by townspeople from Viridian City. To this day, he still doesn't remember how he ended up there. Did he run away from his parents? Were they murdered? Did they just decide they didn't want to raise him anymore? That was long ago, and he has given up searching for the answer by now.

A man named Zacharias Pallitix was one of the townspeople who found Beag and decided to take him in and raise him. For nearly a decade, he taught him life lessons and how to survive. These lessons resulted in Beag becoming selfish, not caring about anyone else. The survival tips he was given were nearly all about hunting wild beasts for food. When they went hunting, both humans were nearly defenceless, only carrying sticks to knock the Pokemon out with. There were times they encountered difficulties, but they could always deal with a flock of Spearow or a lone Sandshrew.

It was when Beag was fifteen or sixteen that he went on his last hunt with Zacharias. It was an unlucky decision to go after the Ratatta; it bit Beag's mentor and his health rapidly deteriorated. By the time Beag had carried him home, the infection had killed him. Beag felt indifferent about Zacharias' death and was disgusted with himself for not feeling any emotions.

A friend of Zacharias named Zein decided to continue on where his associate left off by taking Beag in and showing him how to make a living. That was the pretence. In reality, Zein was much, much older than Zacharias was and stuggled to make end's meet every day. Beag became his slave, hunting for food every day, cleaning the living quarters each morning. When he did even the slightest thing wrong, he'd be punished. Zein was found of using his wooden staff to make Beag learn.

It took Beag a couple of months to realise if he didn't make his escape soon, he wouldn't be alive for much longer. One night, he left Zein's home while his master slept and made his way to Pewter, intent on making his way to Cerulean and then getting to Saffron. Saffron was the town that thrived, according to his friends in Viridian. He was sure he could get a job in Saffron.

The journey from Viridian to Saffron took eight months to complete. He was walking alone with no food and no places to stay. After a while, the idea of getting to Saffron seemed too surreal to be true. Every day was another battle; he woke up wondering if he'd get to sleep that night.

He reached Saffron two weeks before news of Viridian's fall became the talk of the town. Shocked by the news, he contemplated the idea of signing up to the scouting squad to find out if any of his friends had survived.

Appearance (one paragraph minimum): On a dark, foggy night from far away, Beag might seem tall enough. When you get up close to him, you realise he's pretty small, barely cutting it past 5'3". His height isn't helped by his face, which has an oversized mouth that puts his nose to shame. His sandy coloured hair clashes with his brown eyes. The thing about his appearance is that he just doesn't care. His clothes are apologetically worn, with leather shorts to keep him warm. Sometimes he'll wear something over his chest, if he's walking with company, but when he's alone, he prefers to walk without it. He likes to feel the wind hit his scars. He can't afford shoes and is accustomed to his feet having dried blood on them. It's not uncommon for him to walk on sharp objects, causing his feet to spray a new round of blood on themselves.

Is this RPG still open? Let me know and I'll prepare an SU :)

I'm willing to keep it going if everyone else wants to remain dedicated. A sign-up that was promised dropped out a couple of days ago so I was at a loss about what to do.

So yeah, go ahead. Hopefully we won't let this die.
