The Everlasting Pokémon Journey

...that according to legend, the Ancient Tower was built by a Rayquaza to store the treasures it found throughout its journey. 1000 years ago, Rayquaza supposedly abandoned the Tower and left it as a home to powerful Flying Pokemon. Rumors say that there are some treasures that the Rayquaza left hidden for others to find. You decide to check out the Tower first and add a Flying Pokemon to your team, since you don't have any Flying types (except for Floppers, but Gyarados can't fly). You approach the Tower, unlock the gate, and enter. It's a bit dark in here, so you send out Pyra to light up the place with her fire. The first thing you can see are stairs. A lot of stairs. Lots and lots of stairs. Seriously, why are there so many stairs? As you start climbing the stairs, you notice...

...that your pregnant wife is struggling with the stairs. You suggest she waits in the hotel room with Serena whilst you and Claire investigate the tower. Sabrina initially rejects this idea but after Serena says they can discuss baby clothes together she agrees. Claire's Shiny Dragonite jumps out of his Pokeball to accompany both you and the Champion you climb the stairs until you are surprised to meet...

...a Mawile. As Pyra is ready to fight the Mawile, the Mawile says that a battle will not be necessary. She says that the hooded figure you saw in your dream asked her to guide you through the Tower and help you avoid the many traps in this place. She introduces herself as Kira and grabs one of your Luxury Balls and captures herself. Sixth team member get! Unfortunately, this means that, as you need a Flying Pokemon, someone on the team needs to go to the box. Floppers volunteers, saying that you need Kira, and you already have a Water Pokemon in Helena. Floppers then thanks you for evolving him and bringing him with you on your journey. After giving you a hug (how would that work?) and saying farewell to the rest of the team, he transports himself to the PC. Ciao for now, old friend! After that...

...seeing as you are clearly upset at having to send your trusted Gyarados to the box Claire gives you a hug. You thank her for the kind gesture then you both continue on. The little Mawile is true to her word and helps you both avoid a trapdoor and slowly descending ceiling. You are stopped in your tracks in surprise however when you see...

...two windows next to each other. This is strange, since the Ancient Tower only has one giant window near the top, and not only are you nowhere near the top yet, but they're much smaller than the real window. There is a sign that says that one window leads to treasure, the other to death. Kira says that this is a lie, since both are lethal traps. The Mawile smashes the sign with Iron Head, thus making the false windows disappear and revealing a room that wasn't there before. Inside this room is a chest, which holds both the dungeon map and compass. Kira says that they need to find the Big Key, or they won't be able to reach the top. The Big Key, however, is guarded by...

...two Salamence. Each controlled by a woman dressed in similar clothing to Winona. You ask one of the girls why they are doing this and she says 'We must Guard the Big Key from all evildoers on orders of Winona.' Claire frustrated says 'I'm the Champion for crying out loud, step aside.' 'Oh, the Champion and that guy who is facing Winona. This should be fun, Double battle.' As the two Salamence let out a blood curdling roar Claire orders her Gardevoir to battle and you send out...

...Kira. Her Intimidate lowers both Salamence's Attack, while both Salamence lowers Kira's Attack twice with their Intimidate. Kira uses Swords Dance to restore her Attack, while Claire's Gardevoir uses Moonblast and nearly takes out one of the Salamence. Both of them use Iron Tail on Gardevoir. The first one misses, and the second one doesn't do as much damage thanks to the Attack drop. Gardevoir then takes out the weakened Salamence with another Moonblast, while Kira uses Play Rough and takes out most of the other Salamence's HP. Salamence retaliates with Fire Blast, leaving Kira's HP in the red. Kira then uses Sucker Punch to finish off the Salamence and end the battle. You and Claire both immediately heal your Pokemon afterwards. The two women not only give you the Big Key for winning, but also tell you and Claire that...

...they are big fans of you both and would like pictures which you gracefully agree to. You ask Claire what the problem between her and Winona is and the Champion tells you it relates to their first day as trainers. Winona was first in line and given a Swablu which she cherishes by Professor Yew (Birch's predecessor) whilst Claire overslept and Yew went out and gave her the first Pokemon he saw which happened to be a Shiny Dratini. The two were best friends but became bitter rivals only intensified by both girls starters becoming Dragon/Flying types. The bespectacled brunette looked sad for a moment and you ask...

...if there's any way for the two of you to be friends again. Before she could answer your question, two giant hands appeared and tried to grab you and Claire. Pyra destroyed them with Flamethrower before they could get close. Kira tells the group that it's wise to leave this room before any more of those showed up. The Mawile leads the group into another room. After getting past all the Zubat in the room with some Super Repels, you notice another chest. Inside are multiple red bracelets. Kira tells you to put one of the larger ones on, and give a smaller one to the Pokemon whose bond with you is strongest. That would of course be Pyra, who puts it on as well. Kira explains that these bracelets allows a trainer and a Pokemon to share their power with each other and become stronger, similar to Mega Evolution. Kira then asks Claire to do the same if she wants to. Suddenly, the group is attacked by...

...Team Rocket. As Team Rocket are going through their motto Claire equips herself and Dragonite with the red bracelets. As you are about to initiate battle Jessie asks Claire if she can cut her hair. What? and then you remember their villainous memories were erased several pages ago. Whilst Claire is giving Jessie a blonde bob she says she would love to be friends with Winona again but the Gym Leader does not feel the same. You respond to this by asking...

...if she knows why. Why does Winona not want to be friends again? Once again, you are interrupted by more giant hands before Claire could answer your question. Seriously, why can't you converse with Claire without being attacked every 5 minutes? Team Rocket helps hold the giant hands back while the rest of you escape the room. You ask Kira how much farther it is until you reach the top. The Mawile tells you that we're close. After just a few minutes of stair climbing, you find a fancy looking locked door which you open with the Big Key you got earlier. At last, you can see the giant window that leads to the very top of the Ancient Tower! Nearby is a strange rock that Kira immediately runs to and picks up. That's where she left her Mawilite! That's when you hear a loud roar. Suddenly, a wild Salamence flies in from the window, ready to fight. Finally, a Flying Pokemon you can catch! Kira decides to fight the dragon herself. The Salamence stares at Kira for a second before he decides to attack with...

...Roar of Time, what can Salamence even learn that move? As it performs the move a man with a prominent white beard walks in behind you. Use Iron Head now, he orders you. You do as the man asks as Kirk momentarily grounds the Hoenn Dragon which then uses Hyper Beam which luckily misses. Out of nowhere Claire's Lilligant jumps out of her Pokeball and uses Sleep Powder putting the Dragon to sleep. You throw a Heavy Ball...no good, you try an Ultra Ball which makes a whistling noise and one shake Salamence is caught. You thank the old man (Who reveals himself as Drayden who is on holiday with Iris) before giving Kira and Lillian Poke Puffs for their help. Claire reveals that Winona is upset that she did not come to her wedding. You are bemused why would such an action offend her so much if they weren't friends. Claire tells you...

...that it was at the wedding that Winona wanted to make up. She wanted Claire to show up as a sign that they would be friends again. Unfortunately, as much as she wanted to go, Claire was forced to stay at the Pokemon League that day to take on a challenger. Winona was then convinced that Claire cared more about the League than her, no matter how many times Claire tried to say otherwise. You assure her that you'll help her find a way to convince Winona that she's wrong. Meanwhile, you decide to see your new teammate. As you and the rest of your team introduce themselves to the Salamence, he reveals his name is Slifer. You ask Slifer how he could use Roar of Time. Slifer had apparently...

...Pelipper. Strange you think, why does that guy never age? Claire resolves to try and resolve her friendship with Winona after your Gym Battle. Your Salamence goes back into its Ultra Ball as you approach the 3/4 of traversing the Tower. You are happy to have caught your first Dragon Pokemon and ask Claire for advice and she says...

...to teach him better moves. Roar of Time may be powerful, but the recharge gives your opponent a free turn. Hyper Beam is also not worth it for the same reason. You decide to replace those moves with Dragon Claw and Earthquake. After walking the last few stairs, you finally reach the giant window! Passing through takes you to those green clouds that you saw in your dream. You also see the hooded figure from your dream, but it is being attacked by...the Masked Man? Wasn't he arrested? The Masked Man tells you in a demonic voice that he would never be imprisoned by mere mortals. He had used his dark powers to overpower Jenny and escape. The Masked Man had then found the hooded figure and forced it to come to you in your dream and lure you here. He is happy that Claire managed to come too, so he could destroy you both. Kira runs to aid the hooded figure, while Pyra, Slifer, and Claire's Dragonite and Lilligant prepared to fight the Masked Man. The Masked Man then uses his dark power to summon an army of fake Yveltal, Darkrai, and...

...Umbreon. You and Claire have each others backs but you are still outnumbered and you are amazed to hear the hooded figure laughing. 'Dark Pokémon really.' He laughs. 'What?' The Masked Man said. 'How did you?' The Hooded Figure yells 'I am Marshall, Iron Tiger of the Elite Four.' The Masked Man is in stunned silence. Marshall lowers his hood. 'Elite Four ASSEMBLE!' Marshall yelled as an old bald man wearing sunglasses flies in on a Charizard, A young woman with green clothes and a headband arrives on a Tropius and a young boy with green hair teleports with a Gallade. 'Wally, Gardenia, Blaine, Champion, Challenger, We battle'. As suitably heroic music plays you all take out the Fake Darkrai's in short order leaving the Masked Man speechless then...

...he starts laughing like a maniac. The Masked Man is pleased that so many people and Pokemon have shown up. Now he could drain everyone's souls! The Masked Man then summons more fake Dark Pokemon, while the ones that were destroyed regenerated back to full health. This doesn't look good! Suddenly, the red bracelets you and Claire are wearing begin to emit a powerful red light, blasting the Masked Man and vaporizing the army of fake Dark Pokemon instantly. The Masked Man stops moving, but you hear a demonic voice from within him complaining about how useless this vessel is. The voice then warns everyone that when it returns to full strength, the Age of Darkness will begin. Suddenly, a large amount of black smoke shoots out of the Masked Man's mouth, and then he falls lifeless to the floor. It seems the Masked Man was just a poor victim possessed by a monster. The smoke flies off at high speed and escapes before anyone has time to react. You thank everyone for the help, and then decide to leave the Ancient Tower and return to the Pokemon Center. When you and Claire tell Sabrina and Serena about what happened, they...

...listen intently to every word. Your wife is impressed that you managed to defeat so many Dark Pokémon (She seemingly did not hear the part of the whole Elite Four helping you). Your wife says she is proud of you and kisses you before you all go to find Claire who has gone to talk to Winona. You arrive at the Gym to see the two women conversing happily and Winona is also playing with Claire's Lilligant. On asking why the change of heart Winona tells you how finding out how Claire and others helped stop the Masked Man made her realise what a good person she was and that life was too short to hold grudges. Claire nods in cheerful agreement. Pleased at hearing this news you ask...

...if you could have your Gym Battle tomorrow instead. That way, you could get to know your new Pokemon more and Winona and Claire can spend the rest of the day hanging out. Winona is fine with this. As you leave the Gym, you, Sabrina, and Serena visit a nearby park and decide to let all your Pokemon out. After playing with your Pokemon on Pokemon Amie, you let them do whatever they want in the park, as long as it's nothing crazy. Elizabeth and Helena start talking about their favorite foods (they both like lobster and shrimp, apparently), Kira rides on Slifer's back as he flies through the air at high speed (and scaring the birds in the process), and Pyra and Marshall start slow dancing to the music a nearby band is playing (you have a feeling that they like each other). Serena decides to check out a nearby art museum, and Sabrina is on her phone talking to Steve, the guy watching over her Gym. As you walk towards a bench, you actually see Professor Oak and Skyla. After greeting them both, you ask why they're here. Oak says...
