The Extreme Speed Open Tournament - Rules and Results

Here's a heads up notice to people about something new i've tacked on as bonuses for doing well in the ESO!

If you haven't already noticed, we've set up an extension type of thing with the Extreme Speed Champions Tour! In the Tour, you can jump into smaller, quicker, standard bracket tournaments at multiple points during a month. This way, if you've already qualified for the next round here, you can chill out by grabbing a slot in the Tour tourneys.

Here's my little addition to doing well here! The Tour has a system of ranking points for each tournament. Since this is Extreme Speed as well, I thought, why not offer points here too? That way, the better battlers can get safer draws to latter rounds of the Tour tournaments and have a jump on qualifying for the Championships on the circuit.

ESO Points Received
2nd Round (Teams): 50 pts.
Middle Round (Just for this ESO because we had a bunch of dropouts/test trials, etc.): 75 pts. (those who were considered 7th/8th place.)
3rd Round (R-Robin): 100 pts.
Semi-Finals: 150 pts.
Finals: 250 pts.
Winner: 400 pts.

For each of you who participated here, your round will determine how many points you get and those will transfer over to the Tour. A higher amount of points means a higher rank, and over on the Tour for those mini-tournaments (for any of them larger than eight entrants) we'll do seedings so that the better battlers won't face each other in early rounds. Also gives room for some upsets! But in the mini ones with only eight, you're at the mercy of the draw ;)

Anyway, here's the catch. After this Extreme Speed ends, your points will be put over on the Tour rankings. HOWEVER, once the second main ESO finishes, your points will be replaced by however well you did in the second tourney. This gives people opportunities to gain points and defend their positions. That's all for now! Let's hustle and finish those matches, Red Group. Hopefully Bendak logs on in the next few days so I don't have to DQ him...

Alex will be active when I tell him to be :P I can communicate with him to find a time to log in. He's been busy with school but he has access to wifi both at his school's library and when he comes home.

Not to worry, everyone will receive their prizes.

Yea im here, can someone fill me in real quick via pm whats been going on?

oh and times im available are weeknights (anytime after 3:30pm) and weekends. Its just that I try to divide my time between a lotta stuff but my schedule isnt TOO busy.

Well the time limit for these matches is technically still Friday, October 3rd I do believe, but if you haven't checked we're the Extreme Speed Open ;).

Same deal though, no rush guys, we'd just like to move things along nice and quick.

Bendak vs. The Graceful Assassin
World King's Lugia vs. The Graceful Assassin
Bendak vs. World King's Lugia

Try to schedule particular times this week/weekend to finish your matches, guys. :mudkip^_^:

Keep in mind everyone (Those who are still battling and those who are interested in joining), We can start ESO #2 right after we get the semifinal pairings up. We'll put a big alert up on the first post to let you know that sign-ups are in progress. Realistically, we're shooting for at least 50 entrants (We had 32 at the beginning of this tournament), but the more the better! We're not going to cap it, because our battling system really doesn't require a limit on number of battlers, and honestly, it makes the tournament a whole lot better. So keep checking on folks, sign ups will be starting soon!

With the weekend here, let's kick it into drive, Gold Group. SCHEDULE A SPECIFIC TIME FOR YOUR MATCHES AND GET THEM FINISHED. We've had you all post your schedules for battling which was good, but since you guys all sign on at different times that probably signals time zone issues. Make sure you compensate for your opponents time zone this weekend.

yeah i lost 4-0 after a crucial mistake.

oh well what can you do... anyway for me to still have a chance i need to beat Bendak right?

Nice job guys, and congrats on your win World King! Hopefully Bendak will log on sometime this weekend so we can wrap up round 3.

Indeed you do sir, I'll take the 5-3 in your first match into account and consider you a spot. So the semi-final results depend on Ben vs. the both of you.

So the points as of now, stay like this...

Graceful: 5
WKL: 7
Ben: 0

That takes into account both WK's 4-0 win plus the 5-3 disconnect. Since you guys agreed on a rematch, we'll take both matches. Those who move on will be determined by your matches with Ben, which essentially Graceful has to win except for a particular circumstance that I'll have in the back of my mind (probably won't happen, but this makes things messy.)
