The first movie's anniversary.....

    Wasn't it five years ago when Pokemon the First Movie was released in theaters? Some tell me that it was released on Nov 10 but I recall the movie being advertised as released on Nov 12, which is when I saw it. Maybe it had a surpised early release?

    Anyone have a fond memory of seeing it? I thought the animation looked a lot better than the TV show, and there was a kid behind me that had to keep shouting the names of the Pokemon until several people asked him to quiet down.
     
    I remember the first time I saw it. The kids were cheering when Ash came to the rescue with all the real pokemon.

    Course, a couple weeks later, I bought a fansub. XD
     
    This is and will always be my favourite.

    The battles, the emotion, the characters... they were all fantastic!
     
    it was so great, all the kids were so excited, its what got me into pokemon when i took my brother to see it i loved it too, it was a golden age
     
    I will always have a special place in my heart for the first movie. Whenever I think back to the time during its release, it reminds me of how Pokemon obsessed the world was at that time. You couldn't go anywhere without something Pokemon being there. I have a VHS tape that I made back then of all the numerous commercials, TV specials, and news programs of Pokemon that aired on TV. It's amazing to see how the "Pokemon bug" infected everyone that crossed its path.

    When I went to see the first Pokemon movie in the theater I was 5 years younger, had so much less stress, and was enjoying being a kid. Those were good times. Pokemon reminds me to have fun and relax, and watching the first movie re-enforces that every time I watch it.

    I actually saw the First Movie on the Second or Third day it was released....I think I still have the stub somewhere.....

    btw....I have my internet back.....I'm so glad the inet drought is over
     
    It was released back in my country in spring 2000, and I went to see it again under a local movie festival that summer.
     
    I watched it with my cousin...and I nearly cried when Ash "died"....
     
    Ah... fond memories... I remember watching the movie during the weekend after the release date while shouting out kids to be quiet. :)

    I remember I saw the first movie with my friend. She cried when Pikachu and his/her clone were fighting. She still laughs about it today! I loved the action and drama of the movie. I can't believe it was 5 years ago! seems too long ago! ;)

    when ash got turned to stone my dad knew exatly want would happen next it was sick
