I'd choose a quick pokemon with strong atack ....
But i also like Kingdra, a pokemon of the water/dragon type
the chance to fight against a pokemon with dragon atack aren't that high
the bad thing is that Kingdra isn't that quick, but he have some good overall stats...

I raise theme teams so I guess it depends on the theme i'm playing at
the moment.
Usually though I just like to start with a pokemon I like.

I enjoy batteling but I tend to use pretty weird teams.

I have one all around team which I use for serious battles and then it
depends on my mood who I start with.

Usually I'll start with either Meganium or with Vigoroth.
'cuz off the team they're kinda my favorites.

so yeah, I most start off with either Meganium or Vigoroth...they're not
that fast, but their stats are pretty solid and they can take a hit if they
need to. Especially meganium

Whatever Kingdra can do, put the identical moveset on Omastar. Feel the difference. Even Gorebyss surpasses Kingdra in its usability.

The only thing Kingdra got is a great defensive type. Then again, it can't use any defensive move pretty much so too bad for that. In GSC, sleep talk works differently so Kingdra's type allows it to stay alive almost all the time, and staying alive is what the type combo do best. It's a good type combination that's wasted. If Kingdra can learn taunt and/or torment, then it's definitely worth considering. Right now, Kingdra goes to UU bin.

(Btw, don't lead a battle with Kingdra because that's just inviting Suicune to have 100% safety to come out and start calm minding)

CB Trio lead off to kill off leading Jolteon and Raikou (40-48 EV on Sp.def will let Dugtrio live against Raikou/Jolty's HP, so no worry.) By far one of the easiest way to rid of 2 annoying enemy.

Either that, just lead off with Skarm to screw CB leading Pokemon over.
